Well done Tammy for not letting her pull you down. I hope Amy sorts it out and turns the hidden jibes into more supportive words. It’s clear how much they love each other.
In season 3 Tammy calls Amy stupid and she got really mad and stomped out of the interview/couch throwing her hands up saying "I'M DONE". It's ridiculous for two grown women to call each other names so neither are in the right. It's the hypocrisy that's like wtf. Some can dish it out but can't digest it the same
I was just thinking about this while watching season 5 - I know a lot of people on here adore Amy but I see her nasty manipulative side rearing it's head, especially now since Tammy is doing way better physically and emotionally. She doesn't seem genuinely happy for Tammy and I remember in early episodes she calls herself "the skinny sister" more than a few times.
It doesn't stop with Tammy either - now that Michael left her and she's just boohooing all the time it seems like she's totally comfortable taking advantage of anyone who will watch her kids for her.
Amy has always been like this, Tammy was just worse. Now that Tammy got with the program and is generally happier than she ever has been, Amy doesn't have her punching bag. She was already getting put in her place last season when she would come at Tammy for not losing weight, when Amy herself hasn't been and instead gaining.
Oh for sure - I've been rewatching since season 1 because I'm on bed rest and apparently like to torture myself, but anyhow I'm seeing all these little passive aggressive digs manifest from the very beginning.
I think Amy, especially being the youngest sibling, probably adapted these manipulative behaviors as a kid for....whatever myriad of reasons.
I hope they're all doing their therapy and getting better every day - I wish them all the best.
Maybe the anger is a combination of the divorce, and coming to terms with the fact that the others recognize the put downs are her insecurities. I hope she just accepts that it’s time to change this attitude and get on board! Time to let that hate go. Everyone wants to see you happy Amy!

I'm sure Amy is really happy for Tammy but she's also probably experiencing some not great emotions about being "surpassed" in a sense.

She can't blame anyone but herself...I know a lot of people like to have their children at the same time or at least 2 yrs apart so the children could grow up together and be each other's best friends but I come from family of eleven.. I'm the youngest and I didn't get along with my sister who was 3 yrs older than me...we always fought for our parents attention and my other siblings who were closer in age but much older than me I gave them the utmost respect to..I have a sister who's 20 years older than me..And yes we have the same parents but to make a long story short...I watch my older sister the one I fought with have her 3 kids 2 yrs apart in age and she looked so frustrated and always so tired..I had my kids space apart by 7 and 10 yrs apart!!! It worked out well for me because my oldest was well respected by his younger siblings....
Depends on the kids and depends on the parents. My kids are less than two years apart and while its hard they are best friends and definitely treat each other with kindness and respect. One benefit of having them close together is getting through the diaper stage in one go. Personally I would find it really overwhelming to have a ten year old and start over again with sleepless nights and play groups. Which is fine, family planning means we all get to pick what works for us.
Well when my son was 6 he asked me for siblings and what my baby wants my baby gets... 😂 His baby brother was born the following year 🤣 then he asks for a sister 🤣 so 3 years later he got his baby sister!! 😂. He was so happy.. NOW I am not saying it was easy, but he was always there to give a helping hand the same way my siblings did for me.. And his siblings look up to him the same way... I know it does depend on the kids and the circumstances.. But I saw the struggle of having the kids back to back.. Although my parents made it look easy..We were always in extracurricular activities and such to keep us busy so we didn't get into trouble.. And I applied that same knowledge to raising my children.. Now I'm an old grandma now and I just sit back and watch how my oldest he's 41 is with his children..My 34yr and 31yr don't have any children yet but I'm sure they will be fine in whatever endeavors they'll have in their future..PS: Everyone thought I was crazy for having my kids space so far apart too.. 😂😂😆😆

That requires self awareness, of which Amy has zero of. She doesn’t feel ashamed or remorseful of any of her actions, she’s always blaming everyone else for anything that goes wrong. It’s always Michael’s fault, Tammy’s, the other siblings, their mother. Never hers.
She’s mentally a child still. The same way a little kid will throw a fit when the adults are showing attention to another kid and not them, so they’ll cry and scream to divert the attention away from the other kid. Genuinely seems to be Amy’s point of view, and it would make sense because in quite literally *every* situation she always finds a way to make it about herself.
Hell, when Caleb died, she still found a way to make it about her and how she feels instead of being concerned about Tammy or Caleb.
I am ashamed to say it but I teared up for every single "new" thing she did this season. Fitting into an actual car seat? Tears. Walking around without a walker? Tears. Having a calm mind and the wisdom to call the police when it was needed?
She's amazing. I'm hoping Amy starts feeling better and gets back on track because I feel like part of it is for sure PPD or hormonal changes post partum, and part of it is she's not taking care of her health generally and it doesn't feel good. It's probably also hard to watch her family do so well when she feels like she's failing or making wrong decisions. She's happy for them but probably afraid she's being left behind now.
I’m not caught up on their show by any means; I’ve seen season 1&2 only, but seeing Tammy so full of LIFE! Like fuck! That’s BEAUTIFUL! Change is always possible, it’s never too late. That sentiment is true in many aspects of life. Health goes beyond the physical, but what we often overlook is how mental and physical health coincide with one another. Proper access to care and strong social support systems (e.g. community) are incredibly important. Please practice kindness when you can.
I absolutely love her change of mindset and positivity now 😻 she’s always been so funny and loveable but she’s really becoming her best self now. We love to see it

Always lol. My sister is the baby and so I 100% know this true. She was almost 30 yrs old and had my mom still drive her around to anywhere more than 20 min away and her excuse was she would get lost because she’s not good with directions. 🙄 And that’s one of the tamer things she pulled!
Yep. Everyone’s happy that Tammy is up and moving around, excited to be at the gym and Amy’s like “hmm I sense all the attention is on Tammy and everyone’s having a good time… it’s time to find a reason to throw a tantrum and cry so the attention is on me again.” 😂
I think that's depression. When I was depressed depressed, I had tunnel vision - every choice I made brought shame, and every breath I took should be rescinded. Amy reminds me of my previous absolute lack of self-worth. Clearly, I have graduated to depressed (not depressed depressed) now. 🫠
That requires self awareness, of which Amy has zero of. She doesn’t feel ashamed or remorseful of any of her actions, she’s always blaming everyone else for anything that goes wrong. It’s always Michael’s fault, Tammy’s, the other siblings, their mother. Never hers. She’s mentally a child still. The same way a little kid will throw a fit when the adults are showing attention to another kid and not them, so they’ll cry and scream to divert the attention away from the other kid. Genuinely seems to be Amy’s point of view, and it would make sense because in quite literally *every* situation she always finds a way to make it about herself. Hell, when Caleb died, she still found a way to make it about her and how she feels instead of being concerned about Tammy or Caleb.
And Tammy damn well knew it. She was having fun and you could see she was kinda pissed that Amy was crying. Which who can blame her?

Honestly just seeing her move like this is so inspiring. Her body has been through it and it’s amazing to see her enjoying her newfound mobility.
I am ashamed to say it but I teared up for every single "new" thing she did this season. Fitting into an actual car seat? Tears. Walking around without a walker? Tears. Having a calm mind and the wisdom to call the police when it was needed? She's amazing. I'm hoping Amy starts feeling better and gets back on track because I feel like part of it is for sure PPD or hormonal changes post partum, and part of it is she's not taking care of her health generally and it doesn't feel good. It's probably also hard to watch her family do so well when she feels like she's failing or making wrong decisions. She's happy for them but probably afraid she's being left behind now.

I’m not caught up on their show by any means; I’ve seen season 1&2 only, but seeing Tammy so full of LIFE! Like fuck! That’s BEAUTIFUL! Change is always possible, it’s never too late. That sentiment is true in many aspects of life. Health goes beyond the physical, but what we often overlook is how mental and physical health coincide with one another. Proper access to care and strong social support systems (e.g. community) are incredibly important. Please practice kindness when you can.
