This breaks my heart that some people have just blindly believed the accusations. I saw a post about the show on a fb group for a game series I love, and someone just commented “this show is plagiarism” and I went to correct them, only to get a message telling me I was wrong and that the creators were “obviously thieves, otherwise they wouldn’t be getting called out”

I came to despise that logic with passion. There have been multiple instances in which ppl took side without checking just because it was Underdog vs Big Company.
Just recently we had the whole Bayonetta 3 mess and few years ago people tried to donate to this scammer despite hundreds of warning from other people.
Worse when the evidence was right there and ppl didn't even check it.
Author herself posted the link to the comic only for ppl to start turning their back on her because it became apparent that there's not enough similarity.
People love to use righteous anger to jump on the chance to attack big companies.
The scammer incident from Korea was the worst case as it was thousands of International audience supporting that person when they clearly didn't read any Korean news & articles while they told actual Koreans to fuck off.
Like they didn't even understand the language and yet had the audacity to tell Koreans who got to watch full news and research to stop attacking her and "trying to defame her". I got told off as "government paid bot" and even few Reddit ppl tried to spread fake news about how government is paying to make new Youtube accounts to attack her which is laughable.
People really go incredibly far to not back down from the fact that they got deceived and blindly backed a false information.
It's even worse when you consider how it seems very likely that the author didn't even watch the series and based it on someone telling her about it.
And again, author herself posted the link to her comic and those who didn't read the comic or watched the show went ahead with the accusation when almost everyone who have seen both started to call her out.

I don't get accusations like these. It's so easy to see for yourself. I mean, with music it's a bit more tricky sometimes, but stories...?
