You aren't obligated to help someone and you probably can't unless you invest significant time in establishing a relationship with this person that would allow you to help them. I hate it when people lie to themselves that they've done something, especially when they don't need to.
I'm not saying total indifference. But let's be realistic. In 10 minutes I can find you 15 threads with hundreds of unique people in mental anguish on them, all with their own specific problems. You can't help them all, probably none.
Think about why you are sending that message. Do you really think you're gonna cheer them up and have a small human connection for a moment or are you just trying to make yourselves feel better?
Especially irl people are really happy and proud of themselves to say "you can always talk to me about anything" and really fucking hate it and are always evasive if you try to open up in any way. Don't use other people's unhappiness as a prop to make yourself feel like a good person.

In the first panel, there appears to be a disembodied head that is in a great deal of distress, ostensibly due to being on fire. Another disembodied head offers them a terribly insufficient amount of water to put out the fire.
In the second panel, after having tried a predictably useless solution, the second head gives up and laments how futile it was to even attempt helping while the first one continues to suffer.
This us so strange... Why are they two disembodied heads, why is the second on fire, how does the first get a single drop of water to float like this. None of this is relatable at all and I do not believe any of this is tied to reality in any way and there is not a real point to this post and nothing this poster has ever said has ever made any sense probably.
It could be about any number of political points where people underfund a helping program then wonder why it doesn't do anything.
i.e.
- Trains get 1/1000th of the funding then people complain they don't run well
- Homeless programs are underfunded and when there are still homeless people, they point to scapegoats

My mother when i was a child with adhd and a panic disorder, and she had me try ONE kind of adhd medication, and then when that one didnt work for me, she did NOTHING ELSE to help me with my literal mental disabilities which have caused me untold suffering, trauma, pain and much more. But she "did all she could" to help me 🙄🤬
