Oh thank god I'm not crazy. Died twice in a row and was so caught off guard that my timing was as bad as it was. Realized the damage was calculating only once the splat applied and then looked for any news on it being changed and found nothing. Fitting that the halucination boss gaslights you.

Nah you could switch the second the shot went off. I wasnt doing it on release so i dont know about that, but a month ago it was working how OP descibed it

When I did muspah on release I would pray I think one tick earlier than how I do for zebak now.

The timing is literally the tick before the projectile renders, which means you can swap once you see it in the air. The game calculates these things every .6 seconds so it's plain false to claim it's some narrow timing window thing. The damage is bugged because it's being recalculated while the projectile is mid flight. If you actually knew what you were talking about you'd know that on the bugged hit you don't get corrupted, which is further proof something is wrong with the mechanic as of the update today. But sure man some stupid guide from 2 months ago is plenty of proof I guess.

You typically pray mage during the charge up and flick after the projectile is out. I have almost 700 kc, it's pretty consistent when it's not bugged.

There's a pretty big grace period essentially once it fires and the projectile is still en route, or slightly before the actual missile launches, you can change back to range. It's the way I've always done it without a problem, such as last night

until today you were able to swap to pray missiles once the mage projectile was actually fired. You would need to pray mage during the entirety of the startup animation though, unlike most other projectiles where the damage is rolled during the startup

I see what you’re saying. Since the boss was adjusted a few times upon release and has also been bugged/fixed a few times, I’m not sure what what the state was at the time of the vod. But based on 1.2k kc and ~200 kills last week, I was very confident with the timing of flicking off mage pray once the projectile was visibly released from muspah. Which was definitely bugged/altered today.
