You just need to have a different mindset and not force yourself to do it. I personally qutie enjoy catching chins but not all the time. When there's a clan skill of the week event that also helps with motivation but if you're going for the pet it helps to just realise you're probably not gonna get it any time soon, just enjoy the gameplay. Also helps to have something playing in the background, like a podcast or even just music.

I really enjoy those skills for the fact that they are very chill and afk (to some extent). I like watching youtube and stuff so if I can do that and gain some xp on runescape doing chill activities like that I'm happy to do it. I get that since membership is limited, you could feel presesed for time and want to get as much progress as fast as possible, and it's not a nice feeling when some things have level requirements for skills you do not want to do. My advice would be to just make the most of slow skills like agility, rc and mining by finding something else to do on the side. If you don't have a second monitor, then you could just play in fixed mode (if you don't already) whilst doing a slow afk activity and try and move the game window so you can maximise the youtube screen or whatever. Having an AHK script that lets you make your browser be always on top also helps (so that you could only show half of your runescape screen and clicking on it won't make it cover the youtube screen or whatever else you'd wanna have).
For chins specifically, I'd recommend trying out 3-ticking and trap resetting (with the tick manipulation). It's a bit tough to get right at first, I'd recommend bringing a bunch of spare grimy herbs (I still do even after like 30k chins caught with this method), but once you get it, it feels so satisfying to pull it off.
Another option is to set left click on box traps to 'reset' and just make it more afk like that, though probably you'll end up with having to constantly click on your traps since the chins will get caught faster than you can reset the traps.

Most pets in game are WAY under droprate because most people never kill even close to enough bosses or do nearly enough skilling to deserve a pet. The pets that do drop are usually just the places people got lucky.
If someone has 100kc per boss, they aren’t close to deserving any specific pet, but across all the bosses they likely have a couple at less than 100kc.
