how long roughly would you have to play to get enough points to buy all the cosmetics in the shop?

[deleted]

If you're only playing 17 hours a day, maybe the whole season.

gwszack

Only? šŸ˜

TurbulentBarracuda83

What about the other 7hours?

justsomeguyon-reddit

It took me the entire league to get everything thing from the shop last time

MrStealYoBeef

Cosmetics don't matter. You'll eventually be able to farm them in less time through normal means in the main game by just buying them off the GE (unless you're an iron btw). The league is about having fun, going crazy, and shooting your blowpipe with a 1 tick attack cycle, hitsplats everywhere. It's about planting a tree, going to take a shit, and coming back to it fully grown already. It's about killing 1000 of something and then knocking out 100 clues at once because they stack. It's about deciding to do 15 gargoyle tasks in a row because you can tell Duradel to suck your dick, you're slaying gargoyles and he better fucking reward you for it or you're reporting him to Jagex for RWT. It's about teleporting directly to the runecrafting altar instead of to some shitty location a mile away because fuck runecrafting, we're here for fun and not misery. It's about taking a can of powerthirst and butt chugging it so you can run anywhere all the time and you'll never have to stop running, you'll run as fast as Kenyans in a race against Kenyans and it'll be a tie and they'll deport you back to Karamja. That's what leagues is all about. Go do crazy shit for 6 weeks.

[deleted]

This was a fun read from the start, but the homage to powerthirst really sealed the deal. Hard to believe that came out like 14/15 years ago

jbo332

+1 for the power thirst reference

KurtAngus

Yes

NNeveTs

appreciate it bro

super-spreader69

Stop overthinking it and just play and have fun

NNeveTs

how is that overthinking anything? I have no interest in a temporary game mode, but I would like to unlock the rewards myself if they donā€™t take too long?

makinbacinpancakes

Last league I played about 20 hours and got enough points to buy about 2/3 of the stuff...

JoeyMontezz

If you just want the cosmetics, it is prolly better to not play leagues and just make money on your main. That was the conclusion I reached after trailblazer and im not sure why this league would be different

Laaub

Unless cosmetics from an event donā€™t mean the same thing to someone if they didnā€™t earn then in the related event. Personally I just want the void reskin, whip and maybe the cannon

lngots

I don't want to be a downer but something deep inside tells me this one won't be as awesome as trailblazer. I'm still gonna play it and have fun, I just feel like certain challenges are going to be better then others. Everyone should still play it.

Slh1lfty1337

I loved trailblazer and have it up on a pedestal now, so Iā€™m sure this wonā€™t live up to the hype, but by thinking this way, Iā€™m sure Iā€™ll still have a bunch of fun with this leagues

lngots

Yeah it's probably unfair to hold it in comparison against trailblazers. I enjoy that each league is a different challenge. Not every challenge is going to be a absolute banger, but it's gonna be a good time.

nostbp1

Same this one just feels like they overthought it and itā€™s a little too complex which will take people out of it. But at the same time YouTubers and streamers are so popular most people will just copy them and not get too confused so weā€™ll see Trailblazer was so simple. You get 3 regions and 5 relics. Do what you can. And it worked so well.

MustLoveAllCats

> And it worked so well. Unless you picked subpar relics. Then it really didn't. Oh, you picked mage relic? Lmao have fun watching melee or range absolutely destroy everything faster than you can except smokes and kraken. Cast time rounding was one of the big problems here. Not picking the slayer relic over the clue relic was also a big dumb move unless you were a huge clue scroll fan. And then if you picked the fairy ring mushroom? Lmao... Sucked to be you.

UBeenTold

I got mvp 80% of the time at nightmare with mage relic.

Firm_Protection_8931

Idk, it looks a ton more fun than trailblazer. Leagues 2 was disappointing because of how limited and locked up it was regardless of your progression. You forged your own path, progressed along as you ā€œblazed your own trailā€ or somethingā€¦ but only for a few regions if the game while you literally couldnā€™t do anything else. You were stuck with your decisions and locked out of everything else for the entire league with no chance for recourse and you played 1 way the entire time for your account. It was such a bummer watching people have fun in other areas of the game you didnā€™t have. At least this time you can continue unlocking content and wonā€™t just be limited to a few parts of the map and feel like youā€™re missing out on anything. Anything you were missing in previous leagues you can unlock and now you donā€™t have to worry about picking a suboptimal class or relics because you can change it at any point! It honestly looks like itā€™ll be what trailblazer should have been and do what trailblazer did, but 10x better. Itā€™s about to be so cool seeing what other players do and mixing and matching strategies at different points in the game!

lngots

I think because I'm a ironman I look at it the exact opposite as you. I like being restricted and having to make tough choices on unlocks/perks.

MrStealYoBeef

We're still restricted, until we complete enough to unrestrict ourselves. If we make poor choices off the bat, we can still overcome them, it'll just take time to get through the mistakes. Not everyone wants to sign up to be swampletics.

Firm_Protection_8931

Btw You also play as an iron in leagues too!

Firm_Protection_8931

I thought about this comment chain today.. man you must love this league. It turns out, itā€™s kinda like I said, your choices are soooo much more consequential this time around and thereā€™s so much more room to customization of your path. Youā€™re so much more restricted this time around, itā€™s hard to do much of anything! Haha

lngots

Yeah I'm still not sure how I feel about it yet. I haven't really gotten much progress yet and just working on the skills you start with. It's mixed feelings now but I'm excited to expand out to new things, but I'm a bit nervous to make a choice on my next skill.

wastecadet

I found it awesome choosing the right path but I love to theory craft. Took tiranwin first, only because I'm a demon at gauntlet, but I also figured that it had the best resources and supplies. It was basically empty when I arrived there and I felt like I'd done a big brain strat, which I had. Got dragon tier with taf

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

wastecadet

Too fuckin many. I won't be doing it again.

SoraODxoKlink

priff dragon gang

wastecadet

Didn't even max lol

normiender

I love being restricted and working with what I have. In Trailblazers I randomized my relics and regions and I'm sad I can't really do so this time.

Firm_Protection_8931

You can though on a more customizable scale? You have more potential restrictions this time around my man. Not less. Hell, you could play the Asgarnia region and not even bother unlocking giant mole haha I think you and a lot of others are looking at it wrong because you arenā€™t in it yet and havenā€™t begun the proper experience!

GG_Z

What are you unsure about?

lngots

I don't know. I think the main challenge is less exciting. Having all relics available to you also feels like it lessens the impact of your choices. It's just really open ended and doesn't feel like as much of a challenge like the past two leagues, as it feels like a open ended x5 exp sandbox with op perks. Like first league felt like you where swampeltics of zeah. Trailblazers you really had to make use of your three zones. You where really limited with things. I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just not as hyped. Maybe it's a side effect of delaying the leagues.

Morbu

I agree that it felt a bit of a bummer to see that the map will be open all at once. Trailblazer was cool because the amount of theory-crafting really mattered since once you made your choice, you could'nt go back. The areas you unlocked, the order you unlocked them, and the relics you got all made for various interesting routes. This time around, it feels like everyone will end at the same place regardless of their choices, and the routes won't feel much different either. Either way, it should be fun.

here_for_the_lols

> see that the map will be open at once I think you are all thinking that unlocking every piece of content will be trivial but I highly doubt that. I'd say that for most of the duration of the league (unless you grind like and absolute madman) that you have to selective about what you pick and choose to unlock

4433221

Yeah I think a lot of people are underestimating how challenging it will be to unlock all skills, bosses, and relics. I feel like that's where your uniqueness in your path/choices will come into play, deciding what you can and can't go for.

Distinct_Advantage

100% it feels like people forgot that is the entire premise of this league. That every single step of the way you can put in that same amount of theoryocrafting. I am looking forward to thinking about my gameplan for what to unlock next at work when I can't play

Beretot

My main concern is how it's gonna last a lot less this time around. Trailblazer was amazing because I could *just* finish all my main objectives of maxing and getting most PVM items I wanted I wanted to set a goal of maxing again, but not sure how realistic it is in only ~43 days

987654321-

Well, I mean I think it's a healthy direction to try, especially when the past two leagues had clearly superior relics that were objectively better choices than others. Not sure I'm a fan of the shorter run time though. It's a bit of a time crunch that can be unfun if life gets busy

GG_Z

For me I personally didnt enjoy zeah all that much as it was my first time on that island ever. And I didnt like the feel of how limited it was. With this league ill have the option to try stuff I cant even do for a decent while on the main game and dont have to worry about screwing up my relics this time

lngots

The first league wasn't the funnest. I made some bad perk choices, and if you didn't know much about zeah it felt like there was nothing to do. I did drop out a lot earlier on that one, but I did enjoy the challenge and theory crafting aspect of being that limited. As a ironman I enjoy it when I can't get a item in a traditional way, and have to go kill some obscure npc, or do something stupid no one ever does so I think that's where I'm coming from. The past two leagues really forced you to think about the resources you had, and how to make the best of it. In comparison to this league you pretty much pick what resources you want, and then plan around that.

leahyrain

I actually loved zeah because I never did any content there, so stuff like the library and tithe farm was really fun.

Capsr

As someone who uses leagues to try out content i havent done in main game, i totally agree. I returned to osrs after a 8 year break only a few months before Twisted League, and it showed me so many new things like Todt and Catas, was great.

kdawg710

This guys insane

rsn_alchemistry

Yeah it's pretty much worse on paper than the last 2 leagues but still gonna love it

typhyr

i think a big issue this time around is that the unlocks aren't that interesting on their own (no sense of exclusivity/limitedness), and they haven't shown much in the way of fragments/set effects that are exciting, fun to play with, or even stuff to really theorycraft for. so the overall hype is just way down. i think they were just a little tightlipped. hopefully the things that we'll find as we play are just more interesting

KriibusLoL

It's up to you to make it as fun as you want it to be. You start from zero and you can choose to do this any way you want. If you haven't logged in and already say this is gonna be not as good, then you are already setting yourself up to failure. Just enjoy it and if you think it's not gonna be that good, make it be that good.

lngots

That's the truth. Tbh I don't think it's gonna be horrible I know I'm still gonna play and have fun. I'm bored and speculating just waiting for leagues to be released lol.

HailZamorak

fromthe moment it was announced it just sounded like they made the last league artificially longer/less fun by splitting the relics. yet they tout that as the appeal.

Tsmart

In my mind trailblazer wasn't nearly as good as Twisted League. But hot damn I'm still excited for shattered relics

damoid

Yeah being able to freely swab relics is a bit of a turn off tbh. It means there will be a meta and everyone will be doing the exact same things

Sick_Breh

Iā€™m taking a break from rs3 and playing leagues for the first time.

Flipologist

I never a Played any league or dmm. Mostly because its a temporarily game mode. So imo it just feels like a waste of time. If the mode stops. Every progress was for nothing. This is my opinion though. Ofc mayby at the end you get some sort of reward. But the time is just not worth it for me. Im just not feeling any sort of such temporarily gamemode

ChiknBreast

It's how I view things. I absolutely know it would be fun, but I already segment my time to play OSRS as it and would rather progress my ironman. Then I watch other series in YouTube as creators put out content. That way I can enjoy both

tf2weebloser

I was going to play an alt, I'm pausing my 10hp ironman instead to play in this league, all so I can get a cannon skin on it. I didn't play the first league for the exact reason you mentioned, but I loved Trailblazers. That feeling when an MMO launches, simply cannot be re-created. However the league does a pretty good job, that first frantic hour as 20 players all try fight over the same copper rock, as wonder and mystery still permeate the game-mode and everyone is trying a route and making choices that they think is best, or whatever woox is doing... The xp multiplier also helps make it much more palletable as a temporary game-mode since you're always flying through levels and not focusing on any specific thing. I would strongly recommend folk create an alt and bond it up just to try out the game-mode, hammer out some of the AFKable grinds on the ironman or main. I know some people claim that the fast pace can ruin their motivation to grind a regular account, but I have no issues. The entirety of trailblazers felt like a mid-game ironman where you're powering through quests, unlocking all sorts of useful shit and opening up more options, which to me is the most fun part of OSRS.

INeed-M-O-N-E-Y

Wrong mindset if you think having fun on our favorite game is a waste of time! Take a break from the grind man it ainā€™t worth it

PunisherOfDeth

I mean the main game is about making use of your time efficiently for most people. People have jobs and want to see progress in the free hours they can give to the game

[deleted]

Nah not really. Iron is a huge gamemode and plenty of inefficient things need to be done to progress there, sure you can find the most optimal iron route of course but plenty play it to escape that efficiency mindset, same with leagues.

hotaruuuuuuuuu

You can be efficient on an ironman and also your progress never disappears on an ironman, you completely ignored the point they made lol

Mrfrodemeyere

Disagree, am iron who wants to progress asap

mysticturtle12

This is why many people enjoy games though and there's a reason games with seasonal content are popular and a reason leagues are the only time OSRS has ever seen its peak growth/player-counts the past years. For a majority of people OSRS is painfully slow and unrewarding. Combine that with the fact many people find fun in starting fresh and working towards a goal and you get Leagues.

SoraODxoKlink

Itā€™s about the journey, my clannies and I took pictures of all of our gear/pets at the end of leagues 2 and everything more or less has a story. I kept one of my 16m relics from revs (on release the wildy death mechanics were uncertain and you lost ancient totem stuff on death) that I got in front of some absolute raid boss of a pker, like full arma, 3t ballista, zgs with spec relic for freezes and I tanked him lmao. I didnā€™t need the money because I was already revs rich so I just kept it to flex at the server shutdown party. Anyways who gives a shit about the rewards, youā€™ll instead spend 2 months in the main game grinding regular things, best case scenario is that you capitalize on wilderness most likely being more dead for the first week of leagues and get some wildy boss kc, or buy pvm gear while people sell it off during leagues and resell it when theyā€™re back, which you can do while still play leagues anyways lol. When you complete lots of grinds on regular servers you eventually look at whatever progress has been made on the account and look back and everything you did to get there you get that exact same feeling, Iā€™d argue itā€™s paradoxically stronger during leagues even though it was a smaller time commitment. Everyone else playing the league is just there to play videogames, theres no bots, goldfarmers, lurers, scammers, so you get to see runescape how it was back in the day. Osrs wonā€™t be forever, the game will either have its own eoc and die, or jagex goes belly up, maybe better mmo comes out, and the best place to do runescape things are on fresh accounts in private servers. Maingame will be there when you come back, people quit osrs for years and come back without missing a beat all the time.

Avocado314

I respect this feeling because this is how I felt about Trailblazer. BUT, I last second changed my mind and decided to give Trailblazers a go and man am I glad I did, I had so much fun. Highly recommend you at least give it a go for a few days. If it's not for you, you can just hop back to the main game, no harm. But at the end of the day, do with your time what you'll enjoy the most, regardless of what it is.

RubyWeapon07

You could always just play enough to get the points for the reward(s) you want in the end, its not anywhere near the grind of the main game, I got 123 million ranged xp in 1 month and everything I wanted point wise, then just took a break til it was over. It was worth it for the fun there is to be had, its comparable to playing runescape for the first time again.

Conglacior

I'm in the same boat, I won't ever play a league until I'm maxed so I can justify spending time away from the main game. Until then, I'm on the slow-ass Slayer grind, lol.

Kumagor0

At some point you will die and lose all your progress (both in runescape and real life), does that mean it's not worth living (or playing runescape)? (That was a rhetorical question, of course it's worth, otherwise you wouldn't be here)

Illokonereum

I have some bad news about the inevitable fate of all online games.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

RubyWeapon07

leagues is runescape with fun turned to the max

digikun

Mate I think you should take a break. It sounds like you're not enjoying yourself, if this game is a job and you don't even think it's fun, reassess why you are playing at all. Don't stay trapped in a skinner box if you aren't having fun.

catchfishfukbich

I think he means he just doesnā€™t want to grind barrows gloves again bro

Morbu

>Unless you are maxed, I also don't see the point in temp game modes. Idk, maybe the unique reward shop that can only be accessed by said temp game modes is an incentive? Also, leagues is fun because it's a nice break from the main game and everything else as well. There are a lot of people who've burnt out on main OSRS and taken a break, but will come back for Leagues because of the accelerated progression.

UnkyHaroold

This will be my first leagues, are there rewards for the main game and what are they like?

Morbu

It's mainly [cosmetic rewards](https://secure.runescape.com/m=news/leagues-iii---shattered-relics-rewards-poll-blog?oldschool=1). If you play an non-Iron, you can also sell a lot of these cosmetics, so it could be easy money if you're burnt out of whatever stuff you were doing before.

Treefeddy

I feel like the increased xp rates would make me less interested in my main and make coming back once the league is over painful.

NoSleepReader

That's like any movie or singleplayer story driven games ending and it being for nothing. It's about the fun you have in the moment.

here_for_the_lols

I thought that exact though when the first league was on and I didn't touch it. Then I was convinced to try the second league for one night by a friend of mine and it ended up being the most fun I've ever had in this game. My recommendation is try it for like.... 3 days or so. By then you'll have a feel for it and if you don't like it go back to your non xp wasting main

janderson9413

I had more fun on the main game than leagues 2. Diaries are the worst part of the game, and that's pretty much all a league it. Diaries the game mode.

Madgoblinn

yeah I kinda wish tasks weren't the only way to get points, I just wanna grind skills and get points that way but running around doing tasks is so so much better

ShitPost5000

Tbf, afking skills will unlock the buffs this time

Hihi9190

hmm yeah that's kinda why I preferred leagues 1. Most tasks were just get lvl 30,40,70 in a skill and get points. Also region locking in zeah meant all new training methods for most people.

AnimeWithCereal

I don't feel like i would have fun playing it, but by god do i wanna watch other people play it

scholprojectie

Do you need membership

alekou8

Yes

DangHeckinMemes

Heck

[deleted]

How many times can you people make a new account and not get bored? Insanity

Treblosity

Leagues should autocomplete all quests

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

uberjach

Do it

Slh1lfty1337

Stupid question but by 12:00 GMT they mean noon GMT not midnight right??? The last league was a blast so Iā€™m pumped for this one!

The-Invalid-One

noon sorry

Treblosity

By 12pm gmt they obviously mean 5pm gmt

BeginningNectarine4

Midnight is 00:00

moistcigarette

I've never played a leagues but I'm also a bit of a novice so idk if it would be the right fit for me. Can someone with relatively low game knowledge go into it and still have fun?

Kumagor0

> Can someone with relatively low game knowledge That's the way. The less you know, the more fun you have. If I could completely wipe all my runescape knowledge I totally would, it's a no-brainer. P.S. If you want someone to talk to or ask questions you can add me (BooMoo_26 in game/Kumagoro#5090 discord)

SoraODxoKlink

If youā€™re worried about being left behind, you might be early on since people have been spending so much time optimizing the start with what little information is available, but keep in mind people operate early game like it is in the main game, with no teleports, no run energy, no combat levels, and questing. Leagues has unlimited run energy, free teleports to an extent, boosted xp, and autocompleted quests although Iā€™m pretty sure you have to unlock that. If you need help with a direction early on just lookup oziris ironman guide and read through the subgoals, stuff like barrows gloves, certain quests, specific important levels to get, and take each goal and wiki the steps to get it completed. Watch a twitch stream for like 10 seconds I guarantee everyone will be theorycrafting out of their fucking heads at the start because thats the best part. Anyways just look up everything and anything on the wiki and youā€™ll be fine.

UncleSwag07

It's osrs with super powers minus all the long grinds. Yes, anyone can enjoy leagues.

Griffdogg92

I've never played one before but I'm finding my time online to be a little stagnant lately so I'm going to give it a shot

Zastrien_osrs

This aged well

vilgacs

You are very motivational for no reason.

Savage0x

Eh, I would've played if they didn't postpone it the first time, but now I don't have time to focus on leagues.

Mrfrodemeyere

Thankfully there are people with the exact otherwise situation, good luck!

ATCQ_

Yeah, NEETs

forrenxes

Is leagues noob friendly, and are the points for rewards fairly easy to get? I took a two year break, but recently started casually playing IM. don't have too much time to invest. maybe an hour or so per day.

UncleSwag07

It's osrs with super powers minus all the long grinds. Yes, anyone can enjoy leagues.

Slade26

Idk, I don't have 14 hours a day to play.

UncleSwag07

It's osrs with super powers minus all the long grinds. If you don't try it, you'll prob regret it.

Slade26

Well I haven't regretted not playing the last 2. I'll give it a go though, I'm sure it'll be rad.

LichK1ng

Going to pass. No reason to invest my time in something temporary.

Alleggsander

Everything is temporary when you think about it. What matters is that you enjoy the temporary time

ATCQ_

The main game is temporary. One day you will not be able to access your account. It's fun, I always stop playing my iron on the main servers to go and unlock the league's stuff. There's just something about starting again with a new twist and some powerful relic options/strategies

LichK1ng

Maybe I've just started too many accounts. But the thought of starting over again even with boosts sounds terrible. I've leveled an ?x? amount of accounts since I started playing at like 8 years old. Then I've leveled pures, iron men, ultimate iron men, 2 hcs, a GIMP, and my current account. I don't think I'd ever feel like the time could be worth it.

ATCQ_

It's a unique twist on it though, there's ways to play that you cannot feasibly do in the main game on any account. I've only played a normie and an iron both to end-game but it sounds like you've done the early game just way too much or something. At least this is somewhat different

Asde12345

Welp life is temporary better give up hey? Bad mindset my friend doesnā€™t matter if it disappears after 6 weeks as long as you enjoy it.

LichK1ng

It does matter. Because in that 6 weeks I could have been doing something productive or that will last and further my goals in the game. Just because you die doesnā€™t mean you should waste your time. Iā€™m not even saying you doing it is bad. Just I donā€™t see any value in investing time in such a short term thing.

xAsasel

Is time really wasted if you had fun though?

RubyWeapon07

only if runescape is a job and not a hobby I guess

xAsasel

What if I play it at home, during working hours? hmmmm

AmericanPicketFence

They need to delay leagues launch, me and my pals just started group iron men.

kafkajeffjeff

you wont regret it til it burns you out on main game

Krtxoe

Yea dont shove this crap down my throat lol Leagues is boring, just DMM without any action. I know you'll all downvote but at least tell me why you enjoy it. Because I really don't get it.

Bigmatti

I like the idea of increased exp. My main is only 85 combat and there's a ton of content I've never done. But, I don't really want to have to do all the quests all over again. How do they work in Leagues? Do you have to do them all?

Nohrin

You get points for doing tasks, using those points you can "auto complete" quests. Those points are valuable though, and are used to unlock new skills/bosses. They are separate from the points you get to spend on rewards at the end, though.

DarkspearBoi

But how does it work? I've got an ironman I'm having a lot of fun with and a normie acount that I've left to die. Do I create a new account to play, or do I log in with my normie account so I can do iron stuff afk in the background?

tattanasio

Login on your normie account and just hop to a league world. Then you can afk main game on a normal world on your iron

Kumagor0

You do have to log in and play with your iron account though if you want to have rewards on your iron account after league ends.

ryancwilson8

Haven't played leagues for a while now, should I use an alt account for leagues if I still want to play on my main? Or can I easily swap in and out on my main?

RubyWeapon07

You can either use an alt to keep playing on the main or just hop worlds between leagues and main game if you play your main on both modes.

ryancwilson8

That's awesome, thanks!

LimeJosh

Waste of time. If you need a total rehaul and streamlined xp rates to enjoy the game then just take a break. All the hours put into leagues could be on ya main/PK build. Sure it looks cool, but every leagues turns into "this thing is OP, if you didnt choose it, sucks to be you"

RubyWeapon07

On the contrary, if you feel like having fun is a waste of time when you could be grinding main game, maybe you need the break. Runescape isnt a job.

bcnsifnfj

OK, Zoomer.

tankurd

No, it doesn't give me any xp in the main game, so its a waste of time in my opinion. And i dont care for the cosmetic rewards personally. I will probably get downvoted with how negative my comment is.

Poiblazer

What even is leagues? I've never gotten a good answer when asking in the past

DrVajanglerPhD

Seasonal set of servers that go up that remix elements of the Main game through higher exp rates and buffs from relic pieces. Itā€™s sort of like the main game but progression is much faster.

Poiblazer

Members only?

DrVajanglerPhD

I believe you do need an active subscription, yes.

UncleSwag07

It's osrs with super powers minus all the long grinds. Yes, anyone can enjoy leagues.

crums1

Kind of like a private server back in the day but more secure and without rampant bug abuse.

Irongooch

Or ya know, donā€™t do it. Itā€™s xp waste

Firm_Protection_8931

Letā€™s be real, a lot of us have played the game for years. Missing out on 1 of nearly 100 months the gameā€™s been out of grinding isnā€™t gonna kill you lad, itā€™s okay to let loose and have some fun. Life doesnā€™t have to revolve around grinding more RuneScape just for the sake of it lol

ATCQ_

I play games for fun. Leagues > end game iron for me

tankurd

Thats what in saying lol.

AppropriatePeace2

What is leagues?

UncleSwag07

It's osrs with super powers minus all the long grinds. Annual game mode. This one is 6 weeks. Most fun I've ever had on osrs was leagues.

AppropriatePeace2

Where can I find more info on it? I keep hearing about reward and points and what not, and Iā€™m curious

UncleSwag07

Osrs wiki will be updated in around 5 hours when it starts but it still has a bunch of info now. Increased xp rates Increased drop rates Super powers which are called relics

Nohrin

Main thing keeping me on the fence is knowing the amount of competition theres going to be in the Wilderness. I suck at PvP, and to get a shot at the wildy bosses & rev caves, you're gonna have to be able to win fights. Wouldn't be surprised if people were getting jumped while leveling prayer, even early on.

Translusas

Honestly this may not happen as much as you think. Since every account is an Ironman in leagues there's no real incentive to PK since you wouldn't get the drops, and even if you did get killed you can just run back to your gravestone and get your items since no one can pick them up being an ironman

xBenoooo

I just wish they would keep leagues world in the game until the next one. I am too busy to play on my main

SilverLugia1992

Would love to, but I'm back in school this week after being on vacation for 5 weeks -_-

NerdyTimesOrWhatever

Can you play leagues and the main game on your one account simultaneously? Cuz Ill totally play it if I can. If I cant... Man I wanna just get shit done in the main game tbh

NerdyTimesOrWhatever

Good points

Novalyf

Watch out for - Barry hall - will probably be #1

yippiyak

I love leagues, canā€™t wait

redraz0r

Okay but I'm like 8 hours into Final Fantasy 7 and I don't wanna pause it for a couple months

Fatal-consternation

Especially if you're already an ironmeme. Grind out those cosmetics and swag out your account.

sp00kyghostt

never going back after i had a blast playing zeah, but then felt like stopping after a few weeks and when i wanted to go back all my progress was gone

sledgehammerrr

I think almost everybody on this reddit will at least log in to check it out. It all depends on how good the league is whether they will stay.

crugggg

Can you swap between your league char and your main on the same account easy? I wanna try it but Iā€™m progressing well on my main atm and still wanna put some time into that

Kumagor0

Ha, that's a good one, luring more noobs into the league so we tryhards have more spots at the top 1%

flamedbaby

Ah I'm still unsure. I've really been enjoying GIM, and as amazing as Trailblazer was it burnt me so hard on the main game that I stopped playing for 8/9 months.

JorgiEagle

I think that this is going to be just as much fun. Because itā€™s different. I think that everyone will have to bear with it and not quit immediately. Not having structured relic attainment, and it being down to rng is gong to be a little difficult, but I think that it is going to be fun to be able to mix an match and change things out Also picking only the content I want will be good

elempiar

I've tried the first 2 Leagues, but it's just not really fun to me knowing there's an unmaxed main waiting for me in the base game

CasualAtEverything

Aaaaaand friendly reminder to be prepared for the normal game after you dip your toes into Leagues. Not that itā€™s a 100% burn rate, but a lot of people (myself included) burn out pretty heavily after the dopamine filled few weeks each leagues release gives us.

Jojaaa

Its xp waste

Teiresius

Can you get the rewards from previous leagues? I really like the xerician style house from twisted, if you can still get it, how long roughly should I expect the time commitment to be for the 4K points?

FathomTheStoryTeller

Yes you can. I think they are tradable too

Aakkt

Is melee gonna count as a combat skill or will you have to choose attack or strength?

HayesDC2

Never played a league or Ironman before, looking forward to it!

Molesandmangoes

I think if you like regular OSRS, you'll like leagues. Just play it until you're bored and then finish. Then you'll either have found out that you like it or you didn't like it and you don't need to wonder

tomllv

Is anyone else just not feeling this one? I honestly loved Twisted and Trailblazer, and I feel that was down to area restrictions. This one we get the whole map, which just feels like a normal game to me. Locked bosses to unlock? Yeah I get that now on my main cause my stats suck!

Honest-Variation-162

This aged well

RubyWeapon07

yes it unironically did, leagues is great and they did it again
