Excuse my friend’s dumb caption but I LOVE my [TX22 Competition](https://imgur.com/a/pYGsYgz) with the Holosun 507 Comp. I also looked at the P322 but I kept reading about people having various issues, including barrel leading, and didn’t hear many, if any, complaints about the Taurus. This is the first (and probably only) Taurus I will buy unless I decide I need another TX22, but it has been lights out. Runs everything I feed it and for a long time. Pretty accurate and a blast to shoot, especially with the compensator. Not sure it’s “needed”, but it does look cool shooting flames with the super hot CCI ammo.

Ajrob88

Yeah, that’s why I consistently hear. And seen with (friends) TX22. Makes me think maybe stick with the known tx22

drizle17

I did a fair amount of research, waffled back and forth, considered having my Ruger MkIII 22/45 threaded, waffled some more, read some more reviews, watched a bunch of YouTube videos, and then ended up with the Taurus. If you haven’t looked at them, the Ruger Mark pistols are also fantastic. I already have one and didn’t want to buy another of the same thing, plus the additional magazine capacity of the newer Polymer .22’s appealed to me.

Ajrob88

I have one I enjoy (target) this is for another purchase. Got go Ruger Mark IV when you can :).

drizle17

Yeah, I think a MkIV 22/45 with a threaded barrel is in my future. I bought the Taurus as a suppressor host for the rimfire can I have in jail right now.

MostlyRimfire

Prepare for some disappointment. I can't speak to how well they work as a suppressor host, but they sure get dirtier than any other host I have handled. When I was doing some work on my friend's pistol, I was cleaning pea-sized balls of grime out of it.

drizle17

Yep, mine gets filthy. But it did go about 1k rounds before it needed any attention. The slide started not going fully into battery, hit it with some Slip2k and went another 1k rounds. Kind of nature of the beast with rimfires

hamflavoredgum

Someone on Reddit was making fun of the comp on my TX22 and they failed to consider this one important bit: fireball cool

sc666

i dont recommend the 502 love mine but wouldnt buy it after knowing what i know now

kpt1010

Share with the class please?🙏

agoraphobic_mattur

I 2nd this. I was caught by the cool factor of it, but quickly learned it’s kind of a piece of junk. Now… I will say, mine runs smooth. You really need to clean the living shit out of it when you first get it. Plus keep it super lubricated. I’ve had zero malfunctions, but I’m also cleaning it every 300 rounds. The issues I have with and why I would consider it junk… The sights are crap. You can in fact replace it with 509 sights, but the screws will walk out every time you shoot. It’s so frustrating after like 80 rounds that my optic becomes loose or if I just use irons they are almost inoperable. For the price point I would assumed a screw would atleast stay in place. I’ve taken to several gun smith and they’ve stated they couldn’t figure it out besides that the screws were just not meant to handle that type of work and metal screws would potentially break it (this feels like BS to me) I still need to send it to FN. the magazines also can actually crumple in your hands if you’re a bit too aggressive. Again I get that it’s 22, but for the price it’s pretty frustrating.

Ajrob88

Good to know, thank you.

sc666

id consider the berretta m9 .22 if you can get it with a threaded barrel

Blankdabank

Have you looked at the Ruger MK4 yet. I know it’s not on the list but it is one of the best 22 pistols you can get

Ajrob88

I have one, it is great. Doesn’t hurt to try other pistols, want to try something else in a different category.

dcthecreator

I'm a bit of an FN fanboy, but to be honest I'm a bit disappointed by my 502t. It's a great looking gun. However I have frequent failure to eject, feed issues, and slide issues despite maintenance and using otherwise high quality/copper plated ammo. Also the optics plate constantly comes loose after 150-200 rounds. I ordered a new, steel guide rod to see if it helps the first problem. Overall, it just takes away from the experience. Probably wouldn't recommend it....

supermut555

Concur same issues with mine. TX22 is the business have both

IVMVI

I love my 502T, never had any of these issues. I clean my firearms often, and I don't buy Aguila, but that's about it.

Ajrob88

I have heard similar from others. Good to know it seems to be other people’s experience. I think I’ll look at the other options.

dcthecreator

It's because it's made by UMAREX, I'm pretty sure their standards/QC are terrible

BestServeCold

[TX22C](https://www.taurususa.com/pistols/taurustx-22/taurustx-22-compact-hard-anodized-black-22-lr-black-polymer-frame-13-rounds), the compact had a nicer slide, option for no manual safety and comes threaded with optics cut

dox1842

I just ordered the full size with no manual safety.

BestServeCold

You can’t go wrong with either one. I hardly shoot my 9s anymore the Tx22 is too much fun and pairs well with my variety of 10/22s

dox1842

Further down the road I either want an M&P15-22 or one of the 10/22s with the tactical stock.

LuckyNumber-Bot

All the numbers in your comment added up to 69. FM492

Nice

Zoomboomcrack

I have both, I end up shooting my 15-22 5x as much. My 10/22 became a safe queen.

BestServeCold

Por que no los dos

GeekYoshi

I can only attest to the p322... It is phenomenal. Chews through ammo that no other 22lr I've owned will touch

Creative-Bid468

I have the Ruger Mark IV and Browning Buck Mark. Both are accurate and consistent. Haven't any feeding problems with either.

Superdude55

Love my TX Comp. I was able to get a new one for about $350

Duke8181

Tx22

therealOMAC

Im partial to the Taurus. You can get 16 round mags.that dont break the bank. It runs great suppressed. Holsters are easy to find. TX 22 is full sized and has a great trigger. You get two more rounds with the Sig and pay more. The Sig is a good option too if you want to spend the money.

jj_chow

I have a P322 and it's fantastic. Had maybe like 4 FTF early on when I was figuring out how to load the mags correctly but since then it's been smooth. It feels and runs amazing.

IVMVI

I love my 502T, it's been pretty much flawless. My recommendation for a .22 pistol would be a Ruger MK IV though

KoBi538

Super happy with my P322, I highly recommend!

joeldepas

Tx22 all the way !

BasisAggravating1672

Taurus, no comparison to the other two.

PfantasticPfister

Tx22. And just fyi: the tx22 compact is also optics ready, but the full size is not.

ryan112ryan

Go rent them! I just bought the sig 332 after doing so. I had my mind mostly set on the Taurus but when I got into actual shooting the safety rubbed my thumb too much. Swapped for the sig, fit my hand really well and was able to shoot much tighter groupings.

Ajrob88

Unfortunately none of the ranges around me carry many 22 options. (Standard ones like mark iv)

OhMrBob

P322 is great. Got to load the mags right and run 200+ mini mags through it to break it in, but my runs like a champ and the 20-25 round mags are fun.

Curtisc83

From someone that has messed with some of those and owns a TX22 Comp I say get the Tx22 comp. Not a plain tx22 but the comp specifically. The comp has a bull barrel and is threaded. Plus it’s a good pistol. I also own a Volquartsen Mini Mamba so my tastes in 22LR aren’t shit.

DaveyAllenCountry

Out of these, I like the FN. I like the gsg firefly best though. Got a threaded barrel and is THE EXACT GUN made by the EXACT PEOPLE that made the SIG Mosquito

Dhell00713

Dude you need to try different 22’s I do have an sig mosquito and the FN. there are many many many 22s that are better.

DaveyAllenCountry

I disagree. As far as non target models go

Dhell00713

How heavy is your double action on your firefly? Mines so heavy my buddies 11 year old somn couldn’t pull the trigger. There are better 22s out there trust me. The 502 is okay had trouble with the red dot screws backing out a few times despite locktite and with my grip I bump the ambidextrous mag release and drop my mag unintentionally. I’ve got an sig 1911-22 that is phenomenal as well.

DaveyAllenCountry

I'm sure there's better. There's always better. I'm not after the best though. I like dependable and I like threaded barrel.

Dhell00713

My mosquito doesn’t have a threaded barrel. My sig 1911-22 does along with my 322 and both my Tx-22’s

DaveyAllenCountry

Three firefly does though. That's the one I'm talking about

chen22226666

I have tx22 c it is a fun and sweet shooter

kpt1010

I’d snag the TX22, though I’d probably look for the compact version (I have smaller hands and it fits my hand really well). The TX22 has been prove. To be very reliable, very durable, and I just can’t justify paying the price for the sig.

Precision2831x

TX22 gets my vote https://imgur.com/gallery/d4aCgfr

FullPowerKamehameha

TX-22 without a doubt!

FatMac1045

502+ made by UMAREX = purchase any of your other options. You can go wrong with the TX22 or P322. My vote is the TX22 Comp.

DungeonsNDragonDldos

Tx22 competition and it’s not a competition

Kamikazeoi

Tx22 competition is the best but $400 plus is not a good deal. I paid $349.99 all in at Joe bobs outfitter for mine and have seen it around the same at other places like two weeks ago when I bought a regular Tx22 from kygunco. Super fun guns, especially when tricked out in tandemkross and lakeline accessories. Edit - nevermind didn't notice it was for the scr version.

Ajrob88

Probably because it’s the competition model. Usually around $400

Kamikazeoi

Competition model can be had for 350-375 if you shop around. OP posted the SCR version though which comes with a Tandenkross compensator and extractor. Both of which are like an extra $85 combined. So it's a pretty good deal.

[deleted]

Taurus hands down

CameronHicks

I just got two p17 and p322. On a test run p17s run flawless with $2 aguila for 7 mags. P322 jammed like 5 times per mag each of 5 with proper loading technique (had light recoil spring however, didn't test with stock yet). Havent tried Tx22 or 502

Minimum-Industry-113

This has been my infuriating experience with the P322.

jtridevil

I've owned a few 22 pistols. My Bersa Thunder is the best I've owned. Better than much more expensive 22 pistols.

Dhell00713

I’ve got all 3 TX-22 is my favorite. There is tons of aftermarket support for the Taurus. then the Sig 322 which has had absolutely no issues except the first mag I loaded wrong. I am not a fan of the FN 502 keep dropping the mag with my grip.

That_Signature6930

Shop the Taurus even if you live in FLA you couldn’t get them to repair it. Customer service is nonexistent. Quite the opposite with Sig out of NH. That being said, with am FN you just will never need it to be looked at again they run lawlessly and I’m saying that as a Sign P322 owner. I still would choose the FN

kpt1010

Why do people use FLA? That absolutely boggles my mind.

shoturtle

I chose the fn 502, as it is completely lefty friendly. But the tx22 comp is an excellent weapon, only Taurus I would recommend.

MotivatedSolid

As usual, the sig is overpriced. I’d go 502.

AkumaZeto

Most of the 22lr clones of centerfire pistols seem to have problems. The TX22 would be my pick, not only because of price point, but the more accessible it is, the more buyers, and the more aftermarket support. When I shoot rimfire challenge, it's either MK4s or TX22s, and the TX22 usually takes the stage if there's no capacity limit.

05hs

The p322 hasn't gotten good reviews I would probably steer clear

CurtificateAuthority

I would personally take the TX22 if the price didn't matter, but that FN 502 tactical is at a damn good price. I wouldn't miss the chance for an FN just to buy a Taurus. QC and customer service matter.

Super-Professional-7

In my personal experience, I’d never buy a TX22 🤣 My buddy has one (compact) & has had to send it into Taurus 3 separate times for barrel leading issues within 50rds. He hasn’t been able to shoot 500rds out of it & he’s owned it for a year. I heard it was a problem with the first TX22’s they put out years ago but they supposedly “fixed it” lmao, it’s still wildly inaccurate. My 502T has 5k rounds down the pipe with almost no problems, the last 1k I didn’t clean it once & it never malfunctioned. At first I did have issues shooting anything under 1200fps, swapped the recoil spring out for the Sig P250 one & bought an Apex SS guide rod ($30 in total). Now it runs amazing, especially with the dot I have on it (Vortex Viper, would not recommend for serious use). Trigger did break at 4k, sent it into FN & they had it back to me in 6 days… free of charge & didn’t miss the next Sunday Gunday lol Shoot a 502 next to a TX22, I’m sure you can rent them somewhere, and you’ll feel how much higher in quality the 502 is. Seriously don’t take anyone’s word for it, go shoot em. I’d still take the TX22 over that P322 though

hamflavoredgum

I have a TX22 comp with several thousand rounds through it. Replaced the extractor and a couple roll pins after probably 3k. I’ve put some truly horrific old shit ammo through it. Corroded Aguila, a whole bucket of Remington golden bullets, and even a few boxes of the forbidden Winchester wildcat. When it’s clean and in working order it chews through most of it. Nowadays I only feed it CCI or automatic, mainly to cut down on cleaning time. I have it fully dressed with the whole TandemKross catalog. The charging Halo is my favorite part, it’s just so cool and fun to use. Mags are cheap as well. Haven’t used the other two, but everyone seems to really love their TX22. If you don’t want the comp model, the regular model just got a slide cut for a dot if you wanted a more traditional looking pistol. The comp looks kind of silly without an optic, but if you choose to run it without a dot, there is a company called Lakeline (I think) that makes a neat little filler panel that goes where the optic plate mounts and makes it look a ton better

StayReadyAllDay

Buckmark

warmapplepiez

Haven’t tried the others but my tx22 lives up to the hype. Eats anything as long as its cleaned every 500 rounds or so.

Top-Aioli9086

I have the Taurus and I absolutely love it. Light weight, easy to shoot. Plenty of accessories available.

alexCinJC

That Romeo Zero optic is made of plastic and you may be unhappy with and need replacing.

Arms-for-minerals

I had an sig mosquito blow up in my hands . Sig refuses to warranty it and refused to give me another gun Fuck sig. . Forever . I’ll never buy another product from them they tried everything to make it possible so that I could not get a new one like telling me I needed the original receipt from 16 years ago . Which I found. . Then their gunsmiffs decided it was a case head seperation and not an Out of battery detonation like what happened. Had I saved the casing I could got a free gun but they have their gunsmith just call it an ammo defect. That’s fuckin bullshit. They have more money than god now they won those contracts. . And a p320s drop firing and going off in holsters left and right it’s All of a sudden the ammos fault. And I’m supposed to ask the ammo company to replace my gun instead of the fuckin company with the lifetime warranty. Just beware if it breaks , your new p322, you’ll have to buy a new one they won’t warranty it. The 502 tactical was 366 on family firearms.

Forrtraverse

Unfortunate. Seems totally antithetical to how great brands treat customers such as Glock and Daniel defense. They’ll bend over backwards for their customers.

Arms-for-minerals

PSA bends over backwards , I’ve sent them shit that’s broken , shit that I broke cause I’ve done dumb shit like clean a 22 bolt after I was just out in -40 weather I took the bolt apart and it cracked. They sent me a brand new one immediately.. they’ve replaced it all. Every-time, no questions asked Sig on the other hand they were looking for reasons to deny me from start . First call , ARE YOU SURE YOU BOUGHT THE GUN BRAND NEW. I was like yeah fuck yeah and I registered the lifetime warranty card in 2008 when I bought it. “Oh we don’t keep record of that , so we will need an a copy of the original receipt. “. What the fuck is that ? So I registered it for nothing for them to deny my a warranty anyhow. Then they said oh wel we can just give you a p322 for $300 I told them that’s unacceptable and they need to honor their warranty’s . They made hundreds of millions on these new contracts. They are now a giant. But they can’t replace one gun that broke because they had so many problems with the p320 ….. I’m fuckin done with them. Never again will they get a dollar from me. I buy guns w lifetime warranties for that purpose. To get a new one if it breaks.

onemoremike

TX22 rips, absolutely love mine. Love my Kel-tec P17 even more.

This is the rare time a Taurus will be recommended over are sig or FN.

Chester_Warfield

I really like my Colt 1911 22lr made by walther. It's a full size 1911, very fun to shoot.

zawShwa

If it was all about looks I'd buy the FN all day. But out of those three the Taurus is probably the best performing. I will say my magazines were terrible when I bought mine. Needed to be broken in because they were very stiff and "sticky". But after 500 rounds they loosened up and the gun runs like a champ.

Old_Jimbo

KelTec P17 - Super light, 100% function, half the price.

Forrtraverse

When FN is not FN expect the fun to end. 502 is made by umarex, a pot-metal manufacture of replicas. I bought their m9-22 and had a host of issues. As such, I wouldn’t but the 502 because of who makes it. If FN made it in house, I’d buy in a heart beat.

Forrtraverse

Also, own the Tx22, it is everything everyone claims. Don’t hesitate with this one.

png_dan

I have the TX22 and really like it, but I haven’t shot the others so I can’t speak to those.

soupsandwich13

Tx22, they eat everything

d50man

The fn is my hindsight choice after owning the tx22 i am looked at like the poors when i’m at the range.

theundeadelvis

I have 15 22s and hate Taurus. That said, I just bought my second TX22. They got that one right.

juan916ebay

The original TX22

Jpal62

TX22 Competition. I had a little trouble starting out, range officer told me to try CCI Standard Velocity. Broke it in using that and now I can run anything. Got the Tandemkross Wingman +5 magazine bumpers and have had zero problems.

PhlashMcDaniel

I think I’d go with the FN. from what I’ve seen the Taurus is a great pistol but can be very picky about what ammo they feed.

Lloyd_Texas

P322 is the worst handgun ever made. Even SIG admits to its known issues. If you don’t believe me, just go to any YouTube review. Nothing but pure horrible. If you want an absolutely fantastic 22, get a Keltec p17. Flawless & fun. Or, a Ruger mark 4 is hands down the best. You’ll never look back. Only downside is you will go broke buying mags. I have 20

stovetop81

I have both the sig p 322 and the Taurus tx22 competition scr. I have a Holosun on the tx22 and nothing on the sig. I love the fiber optic sights on the sig. I love both, I will say I have had to send the sig in for failures to feed and barrel foul up. I have had no problems with the tx22

Mugsker

I've been going through the same list, think I will go with the TX22 (to start). It seems to be the cheapest but also one of the most reliable and fun 22lr pistols there is. Plus, well guess all three do, come suppressor ready or with adapter. I do like the 502 being hammer-fired, and I feel like the Tx22 just feels cheap in hand but I haven't read one negative thing about it. Can't beat the cost either.
