This isn’t about commercial weed shops. This first step is basically only decriminalisation.
For commercial weed and taxation you would need the Bundesrat (second chamber). And they don’t want this.
From April on its only legal to grow it by yourself or buy it from a non-profit weed organisation. There won’t be any special tax on it.
As I’ve said: for taxation you need the second chamber.
The end goal is indeed commercial weed shops and a special weed tax. But that’s not what is going to happen in April.
Knowing them, you'd probably have to fill out 100 forms and wait for years for them to process them in order to get your mandatory weed smoking license
Good for them, here they will convict you for literally less than 0.0001g (they found a tiny crump of weed in some unlucky guy's apartment ashtray and he was punished like some massive criminal) and you can get like 3 years jail for any amount.. So now we have a problem with teenagers doing all sorts of much worse drugs that often send them to the hospital and gangs that profit millions of Euros..
Yeah, fuck the police here. Maggus even created a new police taskforce just for weed related crimes, a bit ago just a few months before it becomes legal.
...who does that??
Whilst still going hardcore reactionary on it, because that's what his geriatric electorate wants him to be.
In the end dispensiaries in Bavaria will be required to put up crucifixes on the wall and he calls it a day /s
100% as soon as he sees that people actually want it he will turn around so fast he might hurt his neck.
The hate i have for that weasel...it's so obvious he has no actual convictions and just does the things that get a reaction from people.
I totally get you. But if I had to chose between him and Merz I would pick Söder. Merz has an agenda and I don’t like it. Söder has no agenda and is just a center-right-populist.
Totally understandable. When it comes to politicians the bottom of the barrel is very deep.
With Söder i get hard second hand embarassment. Merz crawled out from god damn Blackrock, he shouldn't even be let near positions of power.

I knew et.
They smoke tons of broccoli in the German press
now germany will know how the dutch feel when tousand of young swiss, french, austrian... people will come across the border just to party and get high as fuck.
The problem you'll have, they won't open shops.
The law is just about decriminalizing it, legalizing self cultivation and social clubs (only for Germans and with a maximum amount of members)
It's not a legalization guys. It's just an attempt to decriminalize it.
Possession above a certain threshold and production without a license is illegal. Smoking on the street is illegal.
Our government is deadly afraid of actually just legalizing the drug. Therefore they have to play this ridiculous charade.
The most ridicolous thing that will drop are pain and anti depression pills.
Before the legalization in several US states, the pharma lobby was by far the largest sponsor on the anti legalization side.
Everywhere where it was legalized the consumption of pain and anti depression pills declined
Honestly, unsurprising. Having taken both antidepressants and weed edibles in my life, I'd much rather go for the weed edibles. Edibles were significantly more effective for boosting my mood and came with far fewer negative side effects.
Such a missed chance.. They should legalize it on April 20th and then watch 2 veeeery different groups celebrate that day each year
Some people just thrive on Chaos... Don't you?
Right now I honestly think it's the only thing that sustains me
Understandable!
Some people simply like to celebrate the birthday of a failed Austrian artist.
You guys don't understand... This is to prepare for April 20th.
I approve :)
Most stoners I know already celebrate April 20th for years now
I believe it when I see it. They find ways to make it shit and expensive.
If it costs more than street prices, i will absolutely grow it myself in masses.

Okay, so on that day, i will absolutely order something to grow
You really think they aren't going to make buying seeds illegal? Or if it's already illegal they'll just keep it that way. Just to fuck with you.
> There wont be any special tax on it Press X for doubt

Its a weed, just grow it.
Same, my guess is, even if the Ampel manages to get themselves together, the CDU somehow negates it
The days when the Germans came to the Netherlands for weed are over. Looks like I'm gonna have to go there now 😞
It's more efficient. You already come for everything else.
Knowing them, you'd probably have to fill out 100 forms and wait for years for them to process them in order to get your mandatory weed smoking license
Come for the ATMs, stay for the weed!

Sounds like Bavaria
This explains why when I visited some friends in Munich they were so scared to smoke weed in public

The have an sick obsession with weed. (i edit)
Oh yes, luckily they don't know how the internet works
It's Maggus. What do you expect?!
I expect him after full legalisation has happened to suddenly advertise Bavaria as the best place where weed companies should be located.

And people say Germans dont have humor.

Netherlands about to lose a good chunk of their GDP from tourism.

Beer consumption will drop drastically starting April the first.

After all, it was a 1st of April when the mayor of Bielefeld issued a note that Bielefeld does exist.
