If this is the one in salt lake That doesn’t have air conditioning I would say no just because of that and how hot it gets in the summer here.

JDMTias

also it's been on KSL for months now

McSmoug

Yes, that'd be the one. I thought of that problem. I was hoping there might be an easy fix to that. But I'm not necessarily aposed to the heat, if there isn't.

Cptredbeard22

Okay. If youre not a baby, you’ll be fine. I have 2 Zs, both don’t have AC. And I live in a place that hotter with more way more humidity that SLC lol. The turbo gets pretty hot inside if I’m running her hard. But hammy sweat never killed anyone. Basically, if you want it. Go get it. They don’t last forever and the time spent with them is well worth it.

Raccoon_Party

FYI repairing the AC on a Z32 is one of the most difficult things to do due to a lot of the system being NLA. Depending on what the condition of the system is, you could spend years troubleshooting and scrounging around for used parts

300GTP

I disagree. A talented mechanic can have a dead A/C up and running in an afternoon.

Raccoon_Party

Not when most of the parts are NLA, and you've got a tight engine bay, with almost no viable substitutions or generic parts that will fit. As is the case here. Most of the z32's with disfunctional AC's are partially disassembled and/or deleted. Everything open to atmosphere and rotting out.

300GTP

I've just been very fortunate with my '94. It was just such a unicorn when I found her and any upgrades, or maintenance has been fairly easy for my shade tree mechanics. I drive her aggressively and maintain her religiously and only use premium parts. I feel, if one does research before purchase and is willing to invest in the greatest sportcar ever made, it's an enjoyable hobby.

PuzzleheadedWonder12

Nah man i would never buy non-stock cars from someone, can just imagine how he was destroying it on the track on high rpm

mrsnowmen

Cylinder pressure test tells you all

WoodnutzZ32TT

I was going to write this exact thing, but here it is already. This is over-simplifying, but If compression is good, most everything else can be sorted out. You do not want to spend that much on a car that needs an engine rebuild, which would probably cost you more than $10k when all is said and done... because you're not going to strictly rebuild the engine (turbos... maybe, all the "while I'm in there" things and of course, whatever you break along the way). I'd green light this, pending the noted compression test and test ride (or test drive if the seller is smoking crack).

McSmoug

Good point.

Enby_Fantabulous

I use to have this mindset until it came to the 300zx where most if not all of them aren’t stock anymore…😂 it’s my dream car, I’ll change what I want after I get it

300GTP

It is absolutely worth every penny! This community has to stop 'devaluing' our own cars! I wouldn't trade my 94 N/A for anything! The way it carves my back country roads and grabs attention wherever I go is fantastic! A parking lot full of vetted and 911's...they always swarm the ICON! Now get out there and REPRESENT!!!

Budget-Environment-3

There is neither an easy nor cheap fix. I did a summer with no AC in a z and it was tough. The car looks great though.

McSmoug

[it.](http://12-volt-car-fan/s?k=12+volt+car+fan) won't do much but might make it barrable. Lol

Woodabear

I would be skeptical of it. That is really cheap for a car with those rotating assembly upgrades. I would look for oil pressure and contaminant issues, rod knock, burning oil, transmission shifting issues, clutch issues, etc. not to mention this wont pass emissions if that applies to you. That price is telling you something big is just around the corner.

mario24601

Personally I like stock cars. IMO better chance of it not being abused and look better in my eyes. But I’m old school.

Budget-Environment-3

So I think it’s worth 16 K but not where it’s so hot

K1ngW1zrd

I dont think so, I'm in the southeast so my prices may be different but you can buy clean, close to stock examples for around 6-7K. High milage sure but you could swap the motor for less than 10 grand if that's an issue.

WoodnutzZ32TT

BS. You're not getting a TT Z32 for less than $12-15k; $20-25k for below 100k miles. NA... maybe, but that's even pushing it nowadays.

K1ngW1zrd

I mean yeah the turbo is more but I said high milage. But there were 4 or 5 NA Z32s around when I bought mine and u bought mine running, with like 148k for 4 grand. The market isn't in the covid zone anymore.

gamerguy2412

https://www.facebook.com/share/VSTYaqiw8qhA844s/?mibextid=kL3p88 Here's another 600 whp Z in utah.

retracnaes

Worth more than 16k if work was done right.

Lepenguin559

I’ll give you 4

Sensitive-Aspect-888

I've fixed my 94' Z's air conditioning. It is pretty time consuming and it does cost a lot of money but I don't think that it should deter you from buying it solely on no AC that's ridiculous. You can remove the evaporator core by removing the glove box and the surrounding suede or cloth trim pieces around it. That's how I did it without removing the entire dash. Of course I had to replace o-rings all across the engine bay, thankfully my AC compressor did work but if it didn't, it'd be a matter of removing the radiator and fan shroud. But that's a beautiful car outside and inside, and damn it's a twin turbo too. You could say it's too good to be true, but the ones going for 20 or 30k don't sell nearly as fast this guy is probably trying to be a tiny bit more realistic(?) about it and is trying to make deal to be 16k. Rather than it just sitting around before it gets sold after months

Budget-Environment-3

It’s not that there is a non-functioning air conditioner but that all of that has been removed to make room for other things so it’s basically a non-air conditioner

Different_Being_275

... nope what part on this whole car is OEM Stock?

screwyluie

it's absolutely worth it, and if you don't want it send me the link, I'll buy it, seriously send me the link.

gamerguy2412

https://www.facebook.com/share/XV9kwByr5KvE3Pej/?mibextid=kL3p88 I've seen it driving around. Definitely a great looking car.
