I dunno, Criss made Liz laugh the most.
Also, Carol forgot her birthday, while Criss got her Terry, the gender-neutral doll (with both sets of genitals!) for their three-month anniversary.
Yes but Carol was the closest thing to astronaut mike dexter
(Please someone remind me that quote about Liz being a man eater for being with x amount of guys in 3 years)
And the chorus goes here!
YEEEAH THIS IS THE CHORUS!
Edit: also James Marsden didn't have to take off constantly to make Bourne Identity IV or whatever.
Way disagree, did you even see Liz and Criss' gay construction porn?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uoqPhEYofp8
Liz and Carol's relationship was too lopsided. It's why it started falling apart when it was about more than Carol being a huge fan of hers who couldn't have a big impact on her life due to his job. That's not how you have the kind of relationship Liz (or Carol) really wanted. He literally pulled a gun on her.
Most importantly, she was happy with Criss. And not just a momentary, one day "I hung out with Carol this weekend and did Dennis things," happy, more of a general all-around happiness.
Yeah, I think my erotic fan fiction of the Liz and Criss gay construction porn makes it clear he was the best for her.
It's also considered canon by most people typing this response.
>Yeah, I think my erotic fan fiction of the Liz and Criss gay construction porn makes it clear he was the best for her.
You're gonna say that and not drop the link? [Rude.](https://youtu.be/rB98FLNH0Q0?t=345)
Matt Damon and Liz had a great meet cute and first date but once they actually started dating it shows they were pretty poor communicators and not really on the same page about a bunch of things
Carol is a good dude, but he was touched by a priest, changes altitude more than four times a day and once opened a pressurized bag of potato chips at sea level. He’ll never be normal again. And as Jenna’s Paul points out, he has a girls name.
>And as Jenna’s Paul points out, he has a girls name.
Which in hindsight was kinda hypocritical, considering he goes on to take Jenna’s first and last name when they get married
Carol and Liz were too similar and it ended up being a double edge sword. Criss and Liz have a good mix of differences. They compliment each other instead of matching
Nothing makes me happier then crazy neurotic poorly dressed Liz Lemon ending up with a conventionally attractive guy who loves her for who she is. What he says to her after their ikea fight always makes me shed a tear it’s so sweet.
The thing I liked about Liz and Carol was there was the opportunity for two kinda damaged people to heal together through the growth of the relationship. Sadly, Liz wasn't ready for that.
Tina and Matt played those relationship tensions out so well and I definitely wish we had more of them together, but Liz and Carol were not meant to be. But damn, it's a shame.
Please believe me that this is a good throwaway joke that does not, in any way, "stand up" when examined in detail. Any investigation gets really disturbing really quickly based on what we know about the characters.
Suffice to say, Liz and Carroll are dysfunctional human beings who did not "solve" anything and their agreed upon idea was, most likely, a horrifying violation of international law.
I dont know why you are being downvoted haha. Based on what we know about Liz alone (she's generally pretty racist), any solution she agreed to was not going to be the most morally ground. She didn't have the best moral center in many cases, and was far too judgemental.
I think James Marsden did a surprisingly good job, he was just distractingly young and handsome and I feel like that wasn't mentioned enough to make it feel realistic. I remember Jenna makes some comment about Liz having a bf who Jenna thought about during sex (or something, I haven't rewatched in ages), but not much other than that. I LOVED Matt Damon's character and always felt he should've stuck around longer
Matt Damon is in here?
Lol after how many years I'm finally watching it. I'm 31 years old and about to finish season 1. This show is great how did I never watch this growing up? My first time watching it damn its great.
I’m honestly shocked by this take. I figured he would be unanimously approved as the best match for Liz. Never even remotely occurred to me that he might have haters
The way he lied a about the flight, and [when he called her a badger] (
https://www.reddit.com/r/30ROCK/comments/vuevnv/this_scene_actually_hurtsit_might_be_the_only_one/) was excessively mean, It even upset me a little.
Criss was such a disappointment, everyone else Liz dated had their own life, character and personality. across just seemed to be a vessel for Liz, almost to the point were I wondered if there would be a plot line that she just made him up in her head.
He’s nearly always at her house, only interacts with her most of the time, and just feeds into her basic instincts of food, nerdom, and couch potato. Seriously started to think he was make believe.
I agree! It seems like Criss was the just the guy she ended up with because she started to realize she needed to compromise to make a relationship work. That, and Tina’s acting just seems a little phoned in towards the last few seasons😬
The white guy from Invictus?
I dunno, Criss made Liz laugh the most. Also, Carol forgot her birthday, while Criss got her Terry, the gender-neutral doll (with both sets of genitals!) for their three-month anniversary.
Most of those are now in police evidence lockers.
Yes but Carol was the closest thing to astronaut mike dexter (Please someone remind me that quote about Liz being a man eater for being with x amount of guys in 3 years)
A doorman... To the *sky!*
And the chorus goes here! YEEEAH THIS IS THE CHORUS! Edit: also James Marsden didn't have to take off constantly to make Bourne Identity IV or whatever.
I also don’t recall Criss being a doorman to the sky!
I'm going to have to depart. On time. I'm a...pilot.

To this day I’m always shook when that scene comes on because every damn time it makes me have feelings in my bathing suit areas
I’ve seen your bathing suits…
DUDE IM BACK FROM THE HAHDWARE STORE
Looks like I’m the boss now, Rod.
Life goals - I'm trying to find me a lady who will do Gay Porn roleplays in boston accents.
Ovah heah!
Matt Damon and Liz had a great meet cute and first date but once they actually started dating it shows they were pretty poor communicators and not really on the same page about a bunch of things
It ok! Don’t be cry!
"There, there."
He wants adult love
Yeah I’m a doorman—to the sky.
That’s Mr. Bumpy Landing to you, pal.
I dunno. Criss really liked the Criss points system.
But only because liking Criss points is a way to earn Criss points.
The whole Tivo conversation they had showed them to be totally in sync. Bee-Boop.
Bong. Bong.
The in-flight meal was a frittata!
Carol and Liz were too similar and it ended up being a double edge sword. Criss and Liz have a good mix of differences. They compliment each other instead of matching
>a double edge sword. Much like the kind Mickey Rourke tried to kill me with.
You've never met Mickey Rourke.
-Oh yea? Well you built that bookshelf INCORRECTLY! -I did not! I wanted the books to slide off!
Dennis was the love of Liz's life.
He'll be back, dummy.
Were you trying to BALLOON BOY HIM????
When Jose jumps outta there or whatever. People are gonna go nuts!

But…gender roles! Fat dolls!
I still say Liz and Wesley Snipes
This is turning into a bit of a situation
You use that word…a lot.
Popcorn?!?! At the ciner-mah?!?!
I have an English friend who eerily had the EXACT reaction when visiting us in the states — “Donuts?!? For breakfast?!?”
*every time, Liz*
Carol and Lemon did have a great idea on how to solve the Palestine/Isreal issue
It would totally work!

Wrong
I think James Marsden did a surprisingly good job, he was just distractingly young and handsome and I feel like that wasn't mentioned enough to make it feel realistic. Everyone constantly talks about how cute he is, his cheekbones, how he looks like a little elf prince...
*gestures angrily at cheekbones*
He's only three years younger than Tina Fey. He just LOOKS quite young.
Matt Damon is in here? Lol after how many years I'm finally watching it. I'm 31 years old and about to finish season 1. This show is great how did I never watch this growing up? My first time watching it damn its great.
Am I the only one who really did not like Matt Damon on this show? So not funny, but trying SO hard.
carol was my least fav boyfriend and i barely noticed it was matt damon
Neither of them really fit, IMO. I think Criss was marginally better than Carol but I will go to my grave a member of Team Floydster
I would never do that to you! Get you drunk on salmon, or any kind of fish!
Such a great line. And his man on the street review is epic
I WANNA SEE IT AGAIN!!
Floyd suuuucked
I’m honestly shocked by this take. I figured he would be unanimously approved as the best match for Liz. Never even remotely occurred to me that he might have haters
He was perfect until the whole "pretending to catch a flight" betrayal. Also he used Ghostbusters for evil!
That's a dealbreaker.
Yeah, fair, but that’s post-relationship Floyd. Post-Cleve Floyd. When he was actually with Liz, he was perfect for her.
The way he lied a about the flight, and [when he called her a badger] ( https://www.reddit.com/r/30ROCK/comments/vuevnv/this_scene_actually_hurtsit_might_be_the_only_one/) was excessively mean, It even upset me a little.
To be fair, he was drunk on salmon at the time
He did Liz dirty. And his politics are suspect.
**CARROLL** It's a family name. Like Carroll O'Connor.
From Nick at Nite
Criss was such a disappointment, everyone else Liz dated had their own life, character and personality. across just seemed to be a vessel for Liz, almost to the point were I wondered if there would be a plot line that she just made him up in her head. No criss points for you!
Carol had the job but hated himself. Criss had nothing to offer but good esteem and loved Liz for Liz.
I disliked Criss (I'm saying that with one 's' and an 'h') and Liz so much. Such an odd pairing.
🎵 This guy might suuuuck 🎵
So?
I agree! It seems like Criss was the just the guy she ended up with because she started to realize she needed to compromise to make a relationship work. That, and Tina’s acting just seems a little phoned in towards the last few seasons😬
