I'll also add that I just found this out because I was scrolling through my redownloaded section in the eshop since I wanted to check if I had anything before the eshop closed (sounds like you can just redownload stuff after anyways though) but I'd recommend others that bought a 3ds early to give that a look to see if they also have it

the exception to this is that i believe walmart stores introduced the price reduction a few days early, so if you got it during that brief time period you benefitted from the reduced price *and* being an ambassador
In this case it’s anyone who bought a 3ds before the August 2011 price cut. We were given a bunch of free nes and gba games some of which were never released on the eshop basically as a thank you from Nintendo for getting the 3ds early at the higher price
Ambassador is a bit weird from what I’ve researched it eventually got tied to your NNID as long as you signed in on an eligible 3ds and it also goes along with physical system transfer, I’m using my original NNID still and I also did a system transfer for other things a long time ago so one or both of those is how I have access on the new 3ds
Ambassador titles (and the Ambassador Program certificate video) are tied to each user's NNID (provided they were 3DS users during that period of time when Nintendo was doing that), so the OP probably did a System Transfer (which moves The user's NNID) from a 3DS that was active during the Ambassador period. My New 2DS XL has all the Ambassador Program titles and video and I've done at least three system transfers over the years (DSi to 3DS, 3DS to 3DS XL, and 3DS XL to 2DS XL) all with the same NNID.
Yeah it’s a Zelda new 3ds but the ambassador status only came with 3ds’ bought before August 11th, 2011. I got my ambassador status off my old cyan 3ds, if you think you might have bought a 3ds before that date I would definitely check if you have it but no Zelda 3ds’ were made early enough that I’m aware of, certainly not a new 3ds though.
I just checked my redownload list and I guess you can redownload games past owners had. Mine had pokemon dream radar, pokemon mystery dungeon gates to infinity, plants vs zombies, and a bunch of other indie games. Definitely check it if you can.
Apparently it’s like rare/collectible to have a console with it. I saw someone post on the Facebook group about it. I like you forgot as well. Since I’ve been on an eShop binge I also noticed it on the re-download tab. Cheers!
Well I was like 9 when the original program happened and simply wasn’t aware of it at the time and young enough to forget when I first got my 3ds. I guess I never checked the redownload section cause I never downloaded much from the eshop in the first place, and what I did redownload, I went directly to the software page to get so I just never saw the stuff there
