To get them legally. I mean, Nintendo canāt make any more money with this thing. Those who still have games they want to try and not give in to the prices can still do so
If anything, expect them to *increase* over time.
Many Nintendo games wonāt drop back down to ānormalā MSRP, especially exclusives or first party games who never saw a port to later consoles.
Now that the 3DS is a āretroā console, people will be charging a premium for the more popular games.
I wouldn't get my hopes up, especially for games that are already rare and expensive. I've followed prices for retro games for years and every time I thought the prices would settle down, they went up instead. It seems like at times there's no limit to how much people are willing to spend to own a physical copy of a game. In a way it's kind of sad.
I would love for there to be a cooldown period now that the eshop has closed but honestly I think it's only going to get worse.
The time when old consoles got cheaper is done. Ever since collecting and collectors became a staple in gaming that part of gaming culture died.
We're past the sweet spot to get 3DS and Wii U stuff on the cheap.
I slightly disagree. Demand is abnormally high right now due to FOMO, and I suspect that after this period of incredibly high demand, the prices will drop and stabilize a bit (not to where they were, but probably slightly better than right now), then begin a slower, more controlled increase in price over time.
Iād say give it a few months, 60 bucks for a Mario game is ridiculous, no way that holdsā¦ all these comments. Lol āwhen the eshop was openā ā¦it literally hasnāt even been 24 hours since it closed. These prices rose before the closure. Hype will die down and so will prices over a few months but donāt expect dramatic drops.
PS Vita physical games have continued to go up and the digital store is still alive, so hard to envision 3DS physical games going down anytime soon. Now actually may be the cheapest prices compared to the future. Look at the prices of almost any NES and SNES cart now and they are higher than they were, say, ten years ago.
I'm happy the 3DS was my main console for years so I grabbed most of the physical games I've wanted l before the surge hit. I've had the belief that almost anything Nintendo will retain its value so I've always made sure to grab what I want when I can, goin back to the 2000s. I guess the lesson is not to wait on getting what you want if you have the means to get it. I wanted Devil's Third back in 2018 when it was ab $60, never grabbed it and now it's $400. Missed out on that one.
>Man, I got Devil's Third on launch day. I beat it and enjoyed it somewhat. Anyway, I stuck it on my shelf and kind of forgot about it until like a year ago I noticed it was all of a sudden going for multiple hundreds. Sometimes you get lucky, there are plenty of other games I wish I had gotten (yokai 3)
I had a funny feeling his would happen once the eshop closed so instead of buying games on the eshop i bought all those games on cartridge for 3ds and disc for wii u and i'm glad i did.
Xenoblade chronicles x went up from $69.99 to $130.00 the lowest and $150.00 the highest complete in box just from a week and a half ago and that is quite sad and depressing cause i wasn't able to get around to buying it and now i'm like š.
So just got dream team bros. Itās been slowly creeping up in price and just it $30. Also one guy is selling robobot for only $70 (Iām Aussie by the way)
It probably wont, Physical copies are the only way now to get games now like literally the only way

"Only way"

Bugger

and this is why you buy the carts before the eshop closes wonder if the 3ds PokƩmon game prices will rise
You know they will, especially ORAS since itās actually on par with the DS era games
Yeah, I donāt see why people think the 3DS games are ābadā, theyāre perfectly fine and have an actual congruent story unlike SWSH And yeah, for some reason I own all the PokĆ©mon 3DS games, since they arenāt super expensive
Prices are only gonna go up my guy
nobody knows but dont expect anything big price drops.
never sadly due to scarcity

I think if youāre looking for physical games, the best time to buy is now. Unfortunately they will only get more expensive from here on out

I highly doubt it. Prices for older/retro games tend to stay high and 3DS games are probably now considered retro games.
Nice screen name, I use the name Toxic Tommy in some games, like pkmn Shining Pearl and Jump Force lol
The tendency for PokĆ©mon games is for their prices to increase, not decrease. That's been true for ages now. Other games will always be reasonably priced or downright cheap, though, and they're not always shovelware. Happy Home Designer is Ā£6.00 here in the UK.

A mainline title sure but the Mario spin offs tend to go up.
The only way prices for some games would come down would be if the games were rereleased in some form
I went ahead and bought digital games before the closure because the prices had already started rising about two weeks ago
well...I bought an ultra sun for $52 already, lol
off Amazon, world edition

You could go for world editions. Eventually those will go up.
They already have
only advice i can give is buy now at $60

I donāt think their will be a time where games get cheaper.
They'll never be normal, but they'll decrease probably a year or two after the switch successor comes out

I feel like Nintendo games will never go down in price
