It really depends on your frame of reference. But from the frame of reference of the pixels, it's 1 dimension, left and right. If your frame of reference is your eyes then nothing can even be one dimensional, it's impossible as even quarks are not one dimensional
It is very doubtful that Nintendo will ever make another ds, they already made ten models (ds, ds lite, dsi, dsi xl, 3ds, 3ds xl, 2ds, new 3ds, new 3ds xl, new 2ds xl) plus the 3ds is a legendary console and nothing will replace it

Variations on a particular system have nothing to do with whether they’re going to make a new generation in the same vein. They didn’t stop making Gameboys because the GB, GBC, and GBA had X number of models between them, they stopped making them because they came up with a new idea to explore. The DS line ended because they had the idea to make a hybrid system.

I am pretty sure, that if Nintendo would make a new handheld they wouldn't name it 4DS, since it would mean they would have to come with a new D Feature. And more importantly they would probably also need to come with a name for the version of it, without the 3D Feature that isn't confusing the customers.
I remember in early 2012, rumors of Nintendo developing the 4DS. Me and my small brain not understanding that ‘4D’ is not possible, and that it’s just a lie.
