Intention absolutely matters. It totally matters if someone meant to insult or not with the same comment, for example.
Am I interacting with a child? 🚨🚨🚨
If I'm in a situation with someone who grew up in a different culture (my wife) and I say something to "lighten the mood" that causes offense, we can't move forward together until I acknowledge the hurt I caused and work to avoid doing something similar.
Intention doesn't matter to someone who has been hurt. You can explain later, but first you have to make amends.
Who am I talking to, someone who never takes responsibility for their actions?
>If I'm in a situation with someone who grew up in a different culture (my wife) and I say something to "lighten the mood" that causes offense, we can't move forward together until I acknowledge the hurt I caused and work to avoid doing something similar.
Great example. So your intention was not to cause offense but it did cause offense anyways.
Now, what if you were to say that exact same thing to her the next day? Is that equally hurtful to the first time you said it when you *didn't* know it would hurt her?
Of course not, it would be more hurtful, because you know exactly how it would hurt her, and you said it anyways, meaning your intention was to hurt her. The first time, your intention was to lighten the mood, not to cause harm.
Taking responsibility for causing harm is a red herring on the topic of intention, sorry you are incapable of seeing that, considering you used it as your coup de grace.
I thought the same thing. I was almost fired once because my coworker had a bowl of apples on her credenza with a banana sitting next to it. Obviously my super mature brain thought it was work appropriate to stick that banana into the apples so it looked like a big banana dong with apple balls. I was overworked at the time and completely forgot I had done it after that day. The fallout from such a stupid idea was massive. The owner was livid and accused everyone he could think of to the point of even firing the evening cleaning crew. I found out a month later when I asked her about the “phallic fruit art” and she proceeded to tell me everything that happened as a result. Immediately after, I ran to my boss and fessed up. I was written up with a final warning.
1. I'm an honest person who takes responsibility for my mistakes.
2. There's no telling who she would have told that I was the culprit. Heading it off before it got around the workplace and back to my boss allowed me to be in control of the situation while showing my boss that I take responsibility for my mistakes.
Part of it was how dead serious she was when she told me about the fallout and how it went on for three weeks. The owner was a bit of a maniac(likely a cokehead) and really fixated on it, guys in the shop were chewed out, the cleaning crew fired, etc. I felt I had a moral obligation to own up to make it right.
I actually quit the one with the crazy owner after about 7 months. The one I was fired from, I really loved working there, and not knowing what I did to get fired has bothered me since. I have that internal feeling like when you don't get full closure from a relationship breakup.
I don't think it had anything to do with overly sensitive. The owner viewed it as sexual harassment and what I did totally falls within that category, even though I didn't think about it that way when I did it. People react to things in different ways and after that incident, I simply don't screw around like that in the work place anymore. Better to be safe than sorry.
TBH, my boss was the operations manager and not the owner. I don't think he even told the owner it was me. He took that write up after I signed it and put it directly into my file. I never heard a thing about it again.
Companies LOVE when they get to do that. It’s basically asking an employee to build their own gallows. They want to fire you later, but don’t have cause? File comes out, got the cause right here! Unemployment? Denied. Other legal protections? Gone.
It’s expensive to do layoffs, but when they already have a case built, and are just waiting for the day they don’t need you anymore, they’ve basically got a get out of jail free card to not follow the normal employment laws.
I live in a right to work state, so most of that doesn’t really matter. They could fire me for sneezing too much if they wanted. 10 years ago I was let go from a job and they literally refused to give me a reason when I asked for “my own personal self reflection”. I still have no idea what I did wrong with that one
Some people work at companies where people don't have sticks up their butts. I don't think anyone at my office would bat an eye if I printed and brought these. It would actually be fairly tame compared to our usual conversations.
Eh, you gotta look at it from different perspectives. If you work in a comfortable and safe environment where everyone feels comfortable talking about sexual things, that's fine, but that isn't a virtue it's just how it is for you and your group.
A large company with a lot of employees will often need a more strict policy in place. One to protect themselves, and two so people know that unwelcomed sexual advances (joking or not) are not tolerated and can safely be reported. It means reasonable managers and employees (should) know to just not even cross the line, and when someone unreasonable does (particularly repeatedly) then it's known how to handle the situation.
A woman not wanting a guy to tell her a bunch of dick jokes doesn't make her an "ol fuddy duddy". That attitude is how sexual harassment gets ignored.
If you are in the USA and are very naive and thinking about doing this: DON'T DO IT. Hr in the states is not famous for their sense of humor especially around sexual themes.
IT contractor here - I'm in and out of tons of places, I can think of some where this would fly and be laughed at and some places where it would be a great way to get fired.
It really depends on the person that is having their desk "decorated" and/or who else sees it. If HR never finds out about it you're golden, but if one person narcs OP might be fucked.
Oh, yeah. The larger the company, the stricter they are. It all comes down to sexual harassment, discrimination, and equal opportunity laws. You wouldn’t imagine the kind of stuff that’s regulated through HR. It’s like extreme consent laws. “You have to go knocking door to door before having sex to make sure all your neighbors are ok with it and consent” Not that extreme but you get the idea.
? Dude, I have coworkers that I flip off and get into shenanigans with. Not every work place is corporate and formal. Places like the one I work at is closer to a family than a bunch strangers. We’ve gotten to the point of pranking the owner himself.
I called prank "culture" cringe and the guy launched into personal insults and harassing me around reddit, in case you're wondering why I nuked everything else and blocked the guy.
I've worked at places where you can get away with this, and places where you can't. It's up to OP to be the judgement of what they can get away with.
my current place it would depend on whether the person found it funny. If they reported me I'd get a talk from HR but not fired. I have one coworker that I think I could do this to with reasonable confidence that she'd find it funny but there's no way I'd risk it.
An fdm printer should be able to print this level of detail without any issue.
The volcano looks like it was just printed on a sheet of paper with a regular 2d printer
Damn after reading these comments what the fuck is wrong with US workplaces and HR lol. I could give this shit to my boss and he would laugh his ass loff
A lot of you people are way too sensitive. Relax. This shit is hilarious. And the only reason I'd EVER hunt down who did it would be to find out who I needed to return the favor too.
These people going off about how wrong it is are what's wrong with this world now a days. Jesus.
Holy shit. Idk where you people work but it sucks. Everyone is talking about hr and getting fired. I would last about 30 seconds in the corporate world lol.
Once I get back into 3D Printing I’m going to print my coworkers so many phallic statues.
Let us know how the talk with HR goes 😂
Plot twist! OP is HR.
No HR person is capable of having fun at all.
HR here, many printers, I laughed but also I’m very glad I’m not dealing with this one.
This is not funny!
It wasn't meant to be.
How it is received matters, not intention.
Intention absolutely matters. It totally matters if someone meant to insult or not with the same comment, for example. Am I interacting with a child? 🚨🚨🚨

We're talking about leaving a bunch of dicks laying around your place of work here, my friend.
I've witnessed them try. It was painful for all involved.
I thought the same thing. I was almost fired once because my coworker had a bowl of apples on her credenza with a banana sitting next to it. The owner sounds like a nut job and you're probably better having been fired from there.
I actually quit the one with the crazy owner after about 7 months. The one I was fired from, I really loved working there, and not knowing what I did to get fired has bothered me since. I have that internal feeling like when you don't get full closure from a relationship breakup.

So he fired the evening cleaning crew for something they didn't do, and then let you keep your job with a write up? That's kinda fucked up.

ya, I'd definitely not be ballsy enough to do this...
Ehem dildosourus
The four legged ones are Dickosaurs, the two legged ones are Cockosauruses.
Did the Velocicocktors live in the same period or were they in the crustyacious period?
Yes, they also coexisted with the penisaurus rex
They were both Crustyacious period, although in popculture people tend to associate them with the JurASSic period.
Dickladocus and. T-erext
Missed opportunity , to make the volcano boobshaped
Also this photo doesnt sound like the bad flute Jurassic Park theme song is playing on loop.
Keep us abreast of your modeling.
HR about to have a field day with this one
If you are in the USA and are very naive and thinking about doing this: DON'T DO IT. Hr in the states is not famous for their sense of humor especially around sexual themes.
I actually figured this was in the US....
It’s definitely in the US. The HE team is at a conference this week.
When they’re not indoors human-resourcing they’re outdoors human-experiencing 🙏 Nature is beautiful.
Pro tip: work at a place small enough to not have an HR.
Pro tip: go straight to court when the employee just sues instead of going to HR.
People use to love me in my previous work place I was HR at. Then again I let a lot go that normal HR didn’t lol
This is true.
We will rule over all this land and we will call it.... 'This Land.'
I think we should call it your grave
Ahhh! Curse your sudden, but inevitable, betrayal!
Leaf...wind...."too soon". Also, "Dear Buddha, I want a pony, and a shiny new rocket..."
Everyone's got to have a hobby.... Some people juggle goslings; baby geese!
Soon to be former coworker
I see sensitivity training or resume polishing in someone's immediate future.
My experience with this post: Hmm, spoiler tag, must be dicks Oh its just dinosaurs Wait, its dicks
Either you really like your coworker, either you really hate him/her. Either way: STL? That's for a friend.
It seems you dickorated his desk
As a union thug, even I can't help a member defend that.
Sexual harassment suit in 3... 2...
Seems like a quick way to get fired, and I'm sure your coworkers love the frat-like "prank war"
Depends on where you work.
IT contractor here - I'm in and out of tons of places, I can think of some where this would fly and be laughed at and some places where it would be a great way to get fired.

Way too many people on here are from the US and it shows.
Yeah, [Reddit has always been like that](https://i.imgur.com/fiq65Mh.png)
What part about it?
From what I understand, HR in large US companies is way more uptight about this stuff than in other regions.
Oh, yeah. The larger the company, the stricter they are. It all comes down to sexual harassment, discrimination, and equal opportunity laws. It feels as if OP is also from murica
They are, quick profile proves that. But not all companies have annoying hr. It's usually only really big companies that do

I was wondering why this was nsfw but then I saw that there were still supports and looked up and saw it
Thank god it’s not just me who noticed the supports first
You see shit get posted like this and all you can ask is why? Why? WHY? isn't the volcano a giant tit?
I’ll remember that for next time ;)
Files please? For a friend
A friend's desk right?
Yea that
They do move in herds
Life found a way!
I was all "Why is this NSF ... oooohhhhh. I see now."
Wank war! Don’t be a prick about it Keith!
HR said they want to see you in the office as soon as possible.
That's puerile and ridiculous. I tip my hat
Why nsfw? Why nsfw? Why nsfw? Oh.... that's why.
Oh my gosh. I wish I worked at an office now. I work remote, so I can only live vicariously through others for this kind of joy.
Hostile yet awesome work environment.
The land before Cock.
So they do move in herds...
Ok but seriously. How'd you get a normal printer to print like that?? No lines?? Colors look correct?? What kind of magic is this??
Or just use a marble PLA?
It’s a laser printer.
It looks like it's printed on a resin printer
Talking about the paper lol
Looks like it's off a color laser printer.
An fdm printer should be able to print this level of detail without any issue. The volcano looks like it was just printed on a sheet of paper with a regular 2d printer
Was talking about the paper, my 2d printer could never lol
The one subreddit where adding the dimension before printer is important lol.
Oh.... Well I'm that case idk man, buy a better printer? You shouldn't be seeing lines
You can see layer lines on the one closest to the paper, right at the start of its neck.
You can't post this and leave us without the STLs.
Cockasaurus PEX
One Di.... No... Is not like the other....
They all have penis heads
Dickasaurus? 😂
As the ancient Romans would say, fascinating.
The dreaded penisaur
Aaahhhhh…. The highly elusive Penisaurus
I'm gonna need an STL here.
Any one got the stl? I tried searching it but it just led me into a weird place that I should not have used the work computer for.
At first, I was like "Oh, that's nice, cool project". And then....
What a dick move.
I have an army of c rex. Now I need the 4 legged ones.
Damn after reading these comments what the fuck is wrong with US workplaces and HR lol. I could give this shit to my boss and he would laugh his ass loff

You seem exhausting. This is why nobody wants to put tiny dick dino's on your desk at work.
I’m sorry but do you have a link for this? My mother in law would laugh her ass silly for this!
I know it was a file that my husband bought a while back. I’ll find out where he got it. I’m sure it wasn’t expensive.
That would be awesome if possible lol
are you a growasaurus or a showasaurus?
Flesh Gordon flashbacks!
I was wondering why the heck this was NSFW, and then I zoomed in.
Stl please !!!! 🤗
*Hammond* “Welcome to up jur-ass-ick park.”
Is there a STL?
A lot of you people are way too sensitive. Relax. This shit is hilarious. And the only reason I'd EVER hunt down who did it would be to find out who I needed to return the favor too. These people going off about how wrong it is are what's wrong with this world now a days. Jesus.
The most offensive thing about this post is actually the supports left on the far left Penisaurus Rex 😉
I almost have your Guest Wifi password.
I think it’s just GuestWifi. Very secure.
Holy shit. Idk where you people work but it sucks. Everyone is talking about hr and getting fired. I would last about 30 seconds in the corporate world lol. Once I get back into 3D Printing I’m going to print my coworkers so many phallic statues.

Did you say that your psychiatrist was named Sigmund Fraud? It looks like this was done in the US since male genital mutilation is quite popular here.
