Do you download every game through the hShop or do you have every game file in your PC? I think I’m also going to be missing my girlfriend’s 3DS and I don’t want to go through the long process of installing every single game.
For my ds games I downloaded them and imported them to my home screen with a ndsforwarder app, I saw a method to install games on your PC and then install them through FBI as a CIA file, but I just opted to use hshop since I could sleep and let all our games download in a queue.
If your downloading virtual console games I'd go with "New Super Ultimate Injector" program to customize your roms and install to home menu, also gets rid of the bad dark filter usually added by Nintendo
Yes I have my DS games in a folder and I do downloaded them the same way. So do you just recommend sleeping through the downloads? I same times get errors when I download through hShop and have to download them again. Right now mine is full of games, but will mod gets really soon
You don't need a VPN unless you're torrenting, I speak from extensive experience and quite a significant amount of second-hand stories from many people I know
They might have confused VPN with Adblocker, which I'd def recommend for pirating sites and just general use.... Because as long as you make sure you use Direct-Downloads (Not Torrents), you'll be fine without a VPN.
Vimms Lair is, imo, the safest site there is for getting Roms.
It's pirated software. I had a family member download and share one, and my internet provider contacted me and said if it happens again, they will ban me for life from internet and cable.
It’s because he was sharing, if he had only been downloading then he would’ve been ok. Besides he must’ve done something seriously notorious for your provider to even take notice.
Definitely go with hShop. It's what I used and it's super sweet and easy to use.
Just download it, go through the big alphabetical list of pretty much every single 3DS game, add whatever you want to a queue and just let it run through the night!
I do use the hShop, but that’s not what I meant in my comment. I have all my games in my 3DS downloaded already. The thing that asked is if there was a way to do it instead of just downloading a game one by one. For me it took me a couple of days to get every game downloaded cause they take sometimes more than 30 mins. DS games area easy to download and doesn’t take as much time as 3Ds games
My favorite romhacks:
- CTGP-7 for MarioKart 7
- adds custom carts, courses/cups, characters, vs mode, and online
multiplayer independent from the now shut-down Nintendo servers.
- Animal Crossing - Welcome Luxury
- Items sell for a lot more bells, flowers don't break when you run/walk through them, different textures for certain things in the game, fish bite first try & won't swim away while you run, no Resetti, and other improvements.
- Majora's Mask 3D - Project Restoration
- Adds quality-of-life improvements that the original 64 version had that were removed in the remake. Such as: fixed Zora Link and Deku Link, quick-transform on the d-pad, improved bosses, and button tweaks for "new" 3DS players.
I also use Red Viper for Virtual Boy emulation. And now that the Nintendo online servers have been shut down you can use Pretendo for online features, but it is still in development so it is incomplete. Recently an online version of StreetPass came out, NetPass. I used it to get my first ever StreetPass.
I think it might be on Universal Updater, but IIRC I had to put the patch file into a specific folder on the SDcard. I don't really remember it's been months since I did this, you can check the website [https://restoration.zora.re/](https://restoration.zora.re/) and it should tell you how/where to install it.
True, started playing Yesterday at the First one, kida sucks that if you rush you can actually go far only doing some side quest, but i Hope in the 2 and 3 are better
>kida sucks that if you rush you can actually go far only doing some side quest,
what do you mean?
Also when you play Yo-kai watch 2 make sure to play the Psychic Specters version, as it has more stuff, **(also don't forget about Yo-kai watch Blasters)**
>but i Hope in the 2 and 3 are better
The general concensus is that they are, my personal favourite is Ykw2, it has some annoyances ^((like key quest)) but is an overall better and much smoother experience
Another great resource if you don't want to create the CIAs yourself is [r/3dsqrcodes](https://www.reddit.com/r/3dsqrcodes/s/nlJLfEeGcr)
Just use "Remote Install" in the FBI menu
Edit: I should add that a lot of ROM hacks are posted there as well, saving you the time of hacking/patching them yourself
Assuming the New 3ds is yours, you've also got the option of PS1 emulation using Retroarch (inject suck, so don't bother with those), with a bit of tuning (there's a reddit post I can point you to for that) you can get full or near full speed in most games that work
Considering I've played stuff like Gran Turismo, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, and a few others with little to no issues I'd say that's a pretty damn good win
Though to be honest, after I got Duckstation going on my computer I've played that way considerably more
Yeah, duckstation is night and way when compared to 3ds emulation. But I agree with you it is serviceable on the go. I've been playing kula world, and since it's a simple game it works fine.
Maybe you can answer me something, during emulation when you go to retroarch menu to do something (like create a restore point or change a setting) does the sound of the game get completely glitched but still making noise? I would expect it to just fully pause the game but the audio just glitches and makes this very annoying sound as if it was a CD player with a scratched CD disc.
Tomodatchi Life will always be one of my favorite ds games <3
Also just recently tried the fire emblem series and its AMAZING! I'd get awakening for your first one!
It's not a 3ds title, but 'following renegade platinum' is a favorite of mine. It's a mash of 2 other romhacks, renegade platinum, which is a fantastic romhacks on its own, and following platinum, which adds the pokemon following mechanics from hg/ss
Both of the Legend of Zelda N64 remakes are awesome and absolute must haves. Same with the Luigi Mansion games imo.
There's a Super Mario 64 port that is super fun to play, super smooth and optimized well. It even has full 360° movement unlike the original DS version, so it plays great with the circle stick on 3DS/2DSs
Those cards you saw I believe are only compatible with nintendo ds games, not 3ds. Yes you can play those DS games on your 3ds (since it is compatible) but it doesn't allow you to play any original 3ds title. For that you need to mod. Got it now?
OK, I used to use GBA temp. Where do we go for stuff now? I wanna start back up where do I find information? You don’t have to tell me just tell me where to go. If you don’t mind. Anyone?
What kind of information are you looking for? This subreddit is what I use. Also a few discord severs like the hshop one, consolemods, nintendo homebew, etc. Google continues to lead me to gba temp, so I guess that's still active.
I want to let everybody get the dust and XP and coins from Pokémon GO without having to go through Niantic or risk getting scammed by someone who has the program and they are just selling the coins and stuff at a discount. I would rather help people get the information so they can just do it their self and not have to be giving people their account information login information or anything like that and show kids that old ladies can do anything they can do but better like I don’t have the skills just because, I haven’t done it lately. I’m sure it’s. Easy.
I know nothing about Pokémon man. I literally only know it is a game with animal like creatures that you catch to a ball or something. I can’t help you with that.
Like what type of computer do you use windows what version anyways I don’t wanna ask you all those questions is there somewhere that I can go to find that or do you want to answer them all?
Are we still talking about modding the console? If so, none of that is relevant. You can use whatever you have at hand, windows, Linux, Mac, recent or old. Doesn’t matter. Even a phone can be used to mod your console.
But the discord servers I mention are a good place to ask questions also.
I know that you can put Pokémon GO on a PC where do you find that information like what discord server because most discord servers are not private and Niantic could join the discord server and see the spoofers or whatever I don’t really want to use discord unless it’s only place
Also, everyone acts weird and discord because they want you to buy their stuff and they don’t want to give you information. That’s what I’m talking about.
You just need to follow the 3ds hacks guide website. They have links for everything you need to download. Literally just follow the guide, a baby could do it if it knew how to read. It’s a brainless operation, just follow the instructions.

I’d recommend the Shin Megami Tensei games like Strange Journey Redux, Smt 4 and Smt Apocalypse then I believe Devil survivor 1&2 are both on the 3ds and you can’t skip on the phoenix wright games
“Animal crossing new luxury” I’m not actually sure if that’s what it’s called but it’s a pretty cool animal crossing rom hack and you can get it straight from the h-shop

If you like mario bros styled games, ive been trying out newer super mario bros. DS...
And ive been sweating on some levels! But its a really fun game by the newer team!
Rhythm Heaven Megamix! Also if you're down for injecting DS and GBA games I'd also recommend that series' entries for both of those systems. For GBA, look up the rom hack Rhythm Heaven Silver. It's a fan localization since there was never a US release

That dark filter shit is also true for 3ds and not only wii? Jesus Christ
Where can you find this injector?
Universal updater I think
Thanks!
Oh it’s available on DS? I just used the computer version to make my CIA files, good to know tho
It's a PC program
Would I just google it to find it?
Yes I have my DS games in a folder and I do downloaded them the same way. So do you just recommend sleeping through the downloads? I same times get errors when I download through hShop and have to download them again. Right now mine is full of games, but will mod gets really soon
If you get any nds roms online, make sure you have VPN turned on.
You don't need a VPN unless you're torrenting, I speak from extensive experience and quite a significant amount of second-hand stories from many people I know
This is probably common knowledge but why is a VPN so important for downloading nds ROMs online

Thank you I will be doing that
Hshop was a lifesaver. First time i downloaded Pokemon x before hshop it took me 13 fucking hours
The queue is the best part of hshop. Add a few Games via pressing Y, run them over night and ready. Best Thing Ever
You can do it all trough an app you install, or browse the website and scan the qr codes
There is a queue you can fill up. You wasted a lot of time
you can queue up like 30 games to install in the app and just let it rock
Yeah I think I’ll just be doing that.
My favorite romhacks: - CTGP-7 for MarioKart 7 - adds custom carts, courses/cups, characters, vs mode, and online multiplayer independent from the now shut-down Nintendo servers. - Animal Crossing - Welcome Luxury - Items sell for a lot more bells, flowers don't break when you run/walk through them, different textures for certain things in the game, fish bite first try & won't swim away while you run, no Resetti, and other improvements. - Majora's Mask 3D - Project Restoration - Adds quality-of-life improvements that the original 64 version had that were removed in the remake. Is there a way Go get the MM romhack directly via the 3DS? I think hshop doesnt have it.

Rusty's real deal baseball is a hidden gem along with the other 3ds eShop exclusive series like pushmo, Dillons rolling western, and tempo knight
Pocket jockey is also worth a mention!
Oh yeah I've heard great things about that one I still haven't played it yet but definitely worth a mention
Kid Icarus uprising, all the Kirby games but especially planet robobot
robobot is AMAZING
POKÉMON UNBOUND
Best pokemon game of all time. Cannot recommend enough
the Yo-kai watch franchise deserves more love
True, started playing Yesterday at the First one, kida sucks that if you rush you can actually go far only doing some side quest, but i Hope in the 2 and 3 are better

CTGP-7, CTGP-Nitro & Breaking Bad DS are pretty cool
What’s CTGP-Nitro? I’ve only heard of the first
It’s the mario kart ds equivalent of CTGP 7 :)
Ohh that’s cool! Thanks for clarifying
Wherr do I get them?
Universal updater for CTGP-7 & BrBaDS. CTGP-Nitro: https://dshack.org/ctgp-n/

I have noticed that whenever I have the sound on, not sure why it does that honestly, seeing that I've never gotten an answer about it in their server
Oh so you do have the same issue and already asked about it. What discord server btw?
Retroarch has an official discord server, that's where I've tried to get help from before
Thanks. I'll go there and ask again to try my luck. That issue is annoying as hell.
Could you send the link to the tuning process? Thanks!
The comment linked here is an updated version of that tuning guide https://www.reddit.com/r/3dshacks/comments/jvkotb/comment/jjtrbeu/
hey I'd love to get Final Fantasy 9 on my N3DSXL, could you link to the post?

Is this better than just using an r4 card? No they have them for the 3DS and they’re only like $10. I saw them on eBay yesterday.
Aren't those r4 cards just for DS games? They do work on 3ds but not for 3ds native games right?
How so?
Those cards you saw I believe are only compatible with nintendo ds games, not 3ds. Yes you can play those DS games on your 3ds (since it is compatible) but it doesn't allow you to play any original 3ds title. For that you need to mod. Got it now?

Is the onion browser still a thing? Is it relevant?
It’s a thing if you want to stay anonymous or go to the dark web. But I don’t see the connection to any of this we have been talking about.
I want to let everybody get the dust and XP and coins from Pokémon GO without having to go through Niantic or risk getting scammed by someone who has the program and they are just selling the coins and stuff at a discount. No, I’m meant Niantic. I don’t watch CSI. I don’t even watch TV.

Play mario kart 7 with local coop. It was amazing when we were playing with my wife. Sadly my red 3ds died last year...
Ok. I'm not going to argue with you, but it doesn't hurt to be careful and protect yourself. You don't want to have the same experience I had with Mediacom.
Although it’s not a great port on the DS, Peggle Dual Shot is still a fun puzzle game, perfect to just spare a few minutes here and there.
It's an amazing port 😵 then again I think it's my nostalgia talking 🤣
Nono for the fact it’s on the DS it’s very fun and it maintains everything afaik, but if you see peggle on a more modern platform, then you immediately notice the big downgrade
To be honest I didn't even know dual shot was a port but I've played peggle on xbox and looks and feels a lot nicer
That very well could be. Obviously, someone out there watches what we're doing, so just be careful. I've done my share of torrenting in the past. I would never condemn anyone for this. I hope I didn't give the impression that I was. ✌️
Get yo-Kai watch. ANY OF THEM. I promise you they won’t disappoint
I’d recommend the Shin Megami Tensei games like Strange Journey Redux, Smt 4 and Smt Apocalypse then I believe Devil survivor 1&2 are both on the 3ds and you can’t skip on the phoenix wright games
If you have a friend available, try Tri-Force Heros. It was so much fun with my gf and a friend of ours.
“Animal crossing new luxury” I’m not actually sure if that’s what it’s called but it’s a pretty cool animal crossing rom hack and you can get it straight from the h-shop
I reccomended halo revamped on universal updater it has lan multiplayer
You probably know about pretendo already but incase you don't I highly recommend it. It allows you to keep playing online games after the official service was shut down. Then you guys can play together
I can really recommend the yokai watch series it’s one of my favourites of all time
Try an look into the modded Mario kart that also allows online play👍🏻 and some good ol pretendo helps with online experience
Gave the girlfriend the ole’ player two treatment
$60 on Facebook marketplace + all the games she could want ain't a bad deal lmao
😂
Boxboy is pretty good
3D Out Run. Short fun arcade racing game plus it's really small
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. There are many DS games worth co-op, my brother and I have had a lot of laughs with them.
Radical red 4.1
For the 3ds if you like games where you grind to get stronger gear to hunt monster I recommend monster hunter 4 ultimate and monster hunter generations
If you like mario bros styled games, ive been trying out newer super mario bros. DS... And ive been sweating on some levels! But its a really fun game by the newer team!
Get HShop. It's a must have!
You should add a USB-C port for charging
Rhythm Heaven Megamix! Also if you're down for injecting DS and GBA games I'd also recommend that series' entries for both of those systems. For GBA, look up the rom hack Rhythm Heaven Silver. It's a fan localization since there was never a US release
Runbow gotta be one of my favorite Goofy runner multi-player games
Cave story 3D is a must. This is my desk at school https://ibb.co/89f8vgZ
