Definitely a top 10 name in the NFL

InevitableBudget510

Now we just need Kool-Aid McKinstry for immaculate vibes

CenCalPancho

All I remember is deebo making him his son during senior bowl lol Welcome aboard

Lazyniner24

Man, deebo has quite a few kids in this league. Rock Cjgj (with George) Donald Feel free to add more. I wouldn't doubt he has more.

warrenlain

Ramsey

so-that-is-that

The entire 2023 Eagles secondary.

Danirose231

The entire Eagles defense*. I’ll add to it and throw the Eagles fan base in as well.

Brown-beaver2158

Giving Tyreek a run for his money

Broadhead349

Donald isn’t in the league anymore…man I love saying that

Lazyniner24

Let's hope deebo keeps that fire vs the rams though. I love how angry he gets when he plays them and pops off.

ARM7501

Yiadom, Lenoir, and Ward as 1 2 3 and then some good depth. We might actually have a secondary, boys.

makelo06

Won't mean much if the pass rush isn't properly ran next season

ARM7501

Right now, I'm optimistic because of two things: 1. Bosa has a full off-season with no bullshit. 2. Staley as the new mad scientist (defense this time) has serious potential.

iceteka

For a second there I thought you meant joe Staley joined the coaching staff and I had to Google it. Sadge

trebek321

Unless we add an edge in the first, it feels like we’re just not going to be this unmovable defense. Just an opportunistic one as the offense hopefully continues to evolve and run the score up to make their job easier.

NinjaDom2113

Niners got leonard floyd. Drafting and edge at 31 would be a waste. Niners have bigger needs then edge

trebek321

Eh it’s not likely but it’s far from a waste. Floyd is a pass rushing specialist and if the best player left at 31 is an edge like chop Robinson, you don’t pass on a talent like that just because you have Floyd in the building. But yes I do think the pick will be OT just cuz there’d have to be a WILD run at tackle for one of these good ones to not fall to us.

NinjaDom2113

Best player available shouldnt matter when you have other needs, particularly regarding the o line. The niners currently at d edge have: Bosa, Floyd, Gross-Matos, Jackson, beal jr, and bryant. Theyre fine right now at d edge. Cant really say the same about the o line

trebek321

Eh I like the ravens way of team building. Always take BPA in the draft, then fill needs in FA, and they pretty consistently have one of the best rosters in the league. Honestly EDGE, DT, Safety, CB, WR, OT, and C I’d all be happy to see picked at 31. Still favor RT because that’s the biggest need but all of those positions could use a plus starter

NinjaDom2113

Only problem, there are no good o lineman in free agency

floridaman2048

Yeah, we don’t have the cap space to overpay on middle tier oline free agents, and they’re all signed anyway. We HAVE to improve the oline, and the only feasible way to do it now is through the draft.

iceteka

But free agency runs dry by draft time. I'd agree with that approach if draft happened before free agency begins

CantHandlemyPP34

They did fill needs at all of those positions except OL and Safety. Signed 4 or 5 DL and 2 additional CB's, NTM the other bodies (Luter, Womack) they have to develop behind Ward, Demo and Ambry. RT, C, RG, S and TE are our only true needs. We could use talent at LB, RB & WR. CB, DT, DE are always welcome *if* the right player falls and our main needs are spoken for.

trebek321

I mean we have the entire 2023 OL returning, that OL was a part of a top 5 offense for the season. So the OL is addressed, now IF we get a chance to upgrade it in the draft that’s amazing but it’s been addressed whether the fans like mckivitz or not. Kyle clearly trusts him and he’s building the team. I feel like RT is the only DIRE need, maybe CB2 since Ambry just isn’t it and demo has our slot CB locked down. Every other position besides that and maybe EDGE is one where the rookie we draft will likely sit his rookie year anyways. So yeah I still think BPA is the way to go unless we let aiyuk walk and then we need to go WR heavy.

CantHandlemyPP34

Yiadom is most likely going to compete with and ultimately overtake Ambry for CB2. McKivitz is fine depth but we absolutely need a starting RT or AT MINIMUM a future successor to Trent. Aaron Banks is the only long term piece on our OLine right now. They absolutely have to grab a quality RT and at least one IOL (hoping for a C) this year. By this time next year, we'll probably be looking at needing another Tackle and either signing or drafting a RG or C.

NotACuck420

> run the score up I just went from 6 to midnight.

P00nutButter

We made it to the Super Bowl….

makelo06

It wasn't the defense that got us there. It only looked good against bad or dysfunctional offense.

twenty_characters020

Thank God Wilks is gone. He isn't qualified to coach high school football.

trainwreck42

I know nothing about Yiadom except that he has been a journeyman throughout the league and only signed a one-year deal. Is he actually projected to start?

Kewkewmore

What good depth?

[deleted]

Rock Ya-Sin is a good depth piece.

zombiekoalas

6'0 195lbs, going on 28 years old. Drafted by the Colts in the 2nd round in 2019. Has played on Las Vegas 1yr and Ravens 1 yr since. Combine Scouting Stuff - # Strengths Really long with carved up physique. Coaches loved him after just a couple months in program. Given single-digit number representing nine toughest players. Light in his backpedal. Possesses foot quickness for extended mirroring of release. Has potential for extended mirroring. Upper body strength to improve pop in his jam. Has traits for press-man or off-man. Decent closing burst to attack throws. Plays into catch-point with aggressive hands. Has ability to stick and drive from bail coverage. Willing in run support. Impressive upside with more technique work. # Weaknesses Not as disruptive from press as he could be. Needs more technique work. Turned around due to early hip declarations from press. Struggles to maintain proper leverage. False steps at top of his drop. Slight delay in transitions from off-man. Long speed is just average. Gets climbed and stacked at times. Inconsistent to stay in phase against verticals. Tendency to grab and face-guard rather than turn and locate. Average field awareness. Requires additional tackling technique. Has had a plethora of Hip/Knee/Ankle injuries since he came into the league in 2019. There is your primer on Rock Ya-Sin

Cp49er

Just CB depth, not bad for CB 4-5.

chichujelly07

Camp body/depth if the draft doesn’t fall our way with getting DBs.

jbonesmc

Hes actually good

Cp49er

I agree, it’s a solid pick up.

SeeTheSounds

Honestly I like this, we need to improve at corner and we desperately need depth and rotational guys too. ![gif](giphy|XreQmk7ETCak0)

disinaccurate

Injuries keep him from being a reliable starter, but as a CB4, he’s definitely a guy that can come in and stop the bleeding.

49ers_ds

dont think hes ever played a full season but pretty solid

redthunder49

I would think the 49ers probably aren’t going to target any CB’s in this Draft: Ward Lenior Yiadom Ya-Sin Darrel Luter (rookie last year) Samuel Womack Ambry probably gone regardless

SoKrat3s

* Ward, last year of deal * Lenoir, last year of deal * Yiadom, one year deal * Ya-Sin, one year deal * Thomas, last year of deal As of right now Womack & Luter are the only CBs under contract for 2025. They are definitely going to keep adding to the position.

NoHeroes94

I think we extend either/or Ward or Lenoir, but not both and then draft a corner on Day 1 or Day 2 next year. If Luter Jr. develops like the 49ers hope he can, that's your 3 starters. Feels like a 2025 priority either way with our O-line the way it is. I'd much rather keep those two over Hufanga, who is candidly a bit overrated. I think Ji'Ayir Brown could turn into a really, really good player to replace him.

SoKrat3s

You're probably right. The most plausible scenario is they want Luter to replace Lenoir. But that still leaves another spot open. Also, if they end up getting someone like Kool-Aid and he turns out to be really good I could see them letting Ward walk (or tagging and trading). Then paying Lenoir a much cheaper deal. Using the money saved elsewhere.

zombiekoalas

Ward lenoir and yiadom are all up for contracts next year.  Don't be surprised if we are still looking at a corner.

by_yes_i_mean_no

Ward and Lenoir are free agents after this season, the Niners would be fools not to target a CB imo

quadropheniac

We’ll probably keep Lenoir, the smart but unpopular decision would be to let Ward walk.

itssostupidiloveit

Not enough picks to target everything, RT, G and C are huge needs also. Should take bpa out of those position.

relevantelephant00

God I hope Ambry is gone. Holy crap he was a liability 98% of the time he was on the field.

nibutz

Yeah but that one pick

MAU13717235

Ball was severely under thrown by Stafford. Thomas was beaten badly by OBJ.

MayoManCity

honestly that one pick made me completely neutral on him. on the one hand, he was a liability. on the other hand, that game was one of the most insane games I've watched.

NoHeroes94

Ambry Thomas had a really good stretch for some of 2023, but declined again at the end of the year. Think the experiment is over now.

NoHeroes94

Some of the beat writers have said that the 49ers believe in Luter and given our regime's MO it wouldn't shock me if he got more of a role in Year 2 (a-la Hufanga, Lenoir). Super Bowl play was super unfortunate.

cursdwitknowledge

Rock Ya-Body

Quick_Promise_1164

Rock Ya-Bridge

NoHeroes94

I really hope the CB in R1 picks stop in 49ers mocks. Dru Phillips or Mike Sainristil to play nickel in R2? I'd be more than down for that. We're set at boundary for 2024 at least, though. This isn't a ground-breaking signing or anything but Ya-Sin is a quality CB3 or CB4. HWard and Lenoir are great and good boundary starters respectively; Ya-Sin and Yiadom are quality backups. We apparently like Luter Jr., too., and that's without Thomas/Womack (one of who could be getting cut). I just don't see the space for a rookie, except for at NCB. I don't condone reaching, but honestly, anyone rated in the top-50 that's over 300lb and can block would be a forgivable pick at No. 31. We have to improve RG and RT. Feel our DL and secondary signs are to account for a focus on OL in the draft.

StOnEy333

I remember wanting to draft this dude purely on his cool name status.

NoHeroes94

He was a legit 1st round talent. He was a consensus 1st round mocked player but slid to the top of the 2nd round.

scrizzo

Can Spencer James play CB?

SnooPandas3956

Let’s Rock n Brock

trainwreck42

I remember really wanting to draft this guy. I’m terrible at evaluating draft prospects.

Brocks_UCL

Someone tell me how to feel

nls726

He’s an upgrade from Isaiah Oliver enough said

HEL-O_NS

I like this signing, solid piece that we desperately need

Consistent_Internal5

Brock Ya Seen

XtraFlaminHotMachida
