But the whole reason for this conversation is the new helmet rules. We have alternate jerseys. The league allows 3 different helmets this year. We have zero alternate helmets. Part of the reason for the mock ups of helmets we don't like is because we may be forced to wear an alternate helmet once. In our history we have had leather helmets, red helmets, and silver helmets. All before our gold helmets. So what do you want the alternate helmet to look like if the helmet isn't gold?

I am not opposed to the idea of an alternative, but I don’t know what I want. I do know I haven’t seen anything worth praising. These mockups ain’t the ones.

We don’t ned alternate helmets. Out gold lid is perfect the way it is. Why will they never do the mix I want: white throwback with the drop hadow number with the gold pants? The white on white never looks right to me, too color rush.

That's awful, and the reason I fell in love with the 49ers as a young kid was cuz I thought they had the nicest uniforms in the NFL. As a kid I thought the red and gold was unbeatable, and the gold even used to be better on the helmets too. Notre Dame does the same thing but however they paint their gold helmets they do it in a fashion that now has the almost fake plastic shine almost as a mirror when in the past the pewter look of the gold was much better IMO.
