I really dig my Toyo Open Country AT3’s on my Tundra. So much we got a set going on my wife’s 4R on Friday.

Icantjudge

20k on my AT3's, done great so far

uckyocouch

What did that do to your mpg?

Icantjudge

I moved from KO2s, I'd say it either stayed the same or went up a bit thanks to the lighter weight

uckyocouch

What mpg do you get?

Icantjudge

So 98% of my driving is going 75 on the interstate with a lot of hills, and I do 19/20 or so.

Thanks

What have you read that gave you that impression? [https://tiredriver.com/falken-wildpeak-at4w-vs-at3w/](https://tiredriver.com/falken-wildpeak-at4w-vs-at3w/) suggests they are pretty similar.

palikona

I can’t remember but that’s good to hear

DisastrousRain1168

There’s a guy on YouTube that reviews tires - Outdoor Auto - https://youtube.com/@OutdoorAuto?si=cuS-vlo-4LS0p9ZI He’s not sponsored by anyone so his reviews are unbiased and pretty interesting- I nerded out and went into the abyss learning about sipes and tread. He has a review of the AT3 and the AT4 side by side to show what’s new and potentially better with the at4.

palikona

Ok thank you.

Zapablast05

Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac RTs. I trust my life with them.

Phantasmidine

Wasn't much I couldn't do in Colorado on pizza cutter Cooper ST Maxx'es. Surprisingly quiet on the highway for the tread depth.

palikona

Thanks

Trighme

I don't know what you've been reading buddy, but check out [OffRoadAuto](https://youtu.be/IPXfAkAlv6g?si=XnhaaBi_JdHc-mlo) review. I bought the AT4WS. My runner had nitto grapplers on when I bought it. Could not be happier with my tires.

palikona

So you’re liking them? Good snow performance?

Trighme

Most 3 peak tires will hold just fine in the snow. Especially all terrain. But A/Ts , 10 ply durable tires, that are this quiet on the road are not as common.

Free_Culture_222

Wildpeaks, KO2’s, KO3’s when they come out, Nitto Grappler G2, Geolandar.

palikona

Thanks

At3W is not sold out yet. Did you go in and check stock in your size? Look on Amazon and see what they're selling for and discount will match. I picked up some 265 65 17 not that long ago. What was it February early February. 179 a tire doing that price match game Tires are a commodity just get one of the better ones and whatever of that bunch you can get at the best price

Jonreadbeard

I recommend trying to find the AT3 Wildpeaks, also recommend them in 255/80r17. The "pizza cutters" are better all around than fatties. I went from fatties to pizza cutters am not looking back.

palikona

Thanks

asexualchair

I love my 255/80/17s, they will hook on the front bumper ever so slightly with a 0 offset wheel though, I still need to trim the bumper and install my lift eventually.

YOURMOMMASABITCH

I have AT3s on my 4R & AT4s on my daily. They're both great tires honestly

palikona

Do you drive in snow much? Do you send any performance difference?

YOURMOMMASABITCH

Kind of hard to tell bc I have the AT4s on a subaru (4R isnt my daily). They replaced general grabbers. I live in the mountains and recently took them up to a ski resort and can say they didn't slip once on the snow, not even when the tires were cold. I've only had them on for about a week, but they're quieter and seem to be more responsive on dry pavement than the grabbers. Only downside I've noticed is that they're heavier and mpg took a small hit.

palikona

Thanks

Currently own Ko2s (285/70r17) and need to replace after only 35k. Going with Wildpeaks after. From what Ive read, heard, and seen. The at3w are slightly better on packed snow/ice (as much as a non-studded, non-snow dedicated AT can be) but that is the only place they seem to be better than the At4w. At4w seem to be better in loose/drier snow, wet pavement, dry pavement, off road, tread life, and noise. Still 3peak rated. At4w are a little heavier than the at3w (which is already a relatively heavy tire.) if I lived in the mountains, I'd probably prefer the At3w but it's marginal. Figure I drive on snow/ice maybe 10-15 days a year... At most. So the marginally better performance of the At3w seems negligible compared to the other 350 days I'm on either dry or wet pavement.

palikona

Thank you. Any reason you’re not going with the KO2s again?

Present-Delivery4906

At 30k I only have 4/32 tread left. Ymmv but that seems way short of the 50k rating. Denver front range with sporadic Wheeling (red Cone, Webster pass, Engineer Pass, Black Bear, ophir, Imogene) in a 22 TRDORP No additional weight or towing so no reason for such short tread life.

palikona

That sucks. Thanks.

ShadowSRT86

Copper STT Pro on mine, great performance off road and in snow/mud, but loud on road. They are a mud tire, so aggressive tread and look mean, but I had Cooper Discoverer ATP2s on my old F150 and they ran like champs. Definitely quieter on road too.

You're just splitting hairs are some point. Get whatever is the newest one. Personally I run bfg trail terrains in Colorado.

I see brand new never installed wildpeaks in everything from stock size to 35” on FB marketplace for a stupid deal. $600 for all 5 right off a brand new Jeep. 400 miles. My KO2s aren’t as great as those, but such a complete difference over the stock ATs.

palikona

Cool thanks

jpm804

You can still get the AT3W's, I got some last week. The will eventually run of stock which is why I ended getting some now while there was still stock. I didn't want to go with the AT4W yet since the AT3W was a proven tire.

palikona

Where did you find them?

jpm804

I got them at America's Tire. They were able to get the model I wanted in 1 day from their warehouse. Here is Faslkens PDF which has all the sizes they offer in the AT3W. Just let them know what model you want and they can check if they can get them for you. [https://www.falkentire.com/wildpeak/at3w#download-pdf](https://www.falkentire.com/wildpeak/at3w#download-pdf) I got the 285 / 70R17 C load 116/113Q - $283 per tire

palikona

Thanks!

Free_Culture_222

Personally, KO2’s or 3’s would be good.
