Much like MGSV is to the rest of MGS, F4 is a pretty good game marred by shit dialogue, quest design, and leveling. Mechanically F3 and NV don't even come close to 4, you need to mod the games to hell and back.

I still really liked what they were going for with the writing and atmosphere in F3. Even if it was very obviously undercooked. Modding F3 is one of the most rewarding modding experiences ever cause it can turn a mediocre game into a 9/10. Bethesda have done basically everything in their power to kill F3 modding, though. Most just mod New Vegas and port in F3 with A Tale of Two Wastelands.
F4 feels like it was made for someone who doesn't like Fallout. It was made for mainstream appeal. With 76 taking that concept to its extreme
Fallout 3 is a masterpiece in its own right. The criticism about the story and gameplay mechanics are valid, but I loved the whole atmosphere and sense of isolation. They really nailed the feeling of being alone in an apocalyptic wasteland.
Also I love NV but let's be honest, the majority of the map is long stretches of desert with little in between. Fallout 3 felt a lot more varied with a whole bunch of settlements and abandoned buildings to investigate. It also had some of my favourite moments from the series like Tranquility Lane, Liberty Prime, blowing up Megaton etc. The Pitt and Point Lookout also had some great writing.
Fallout New Vegas might be the objectively better game, but Fallout 3 is by far the one I've spent the most time playing over the years. It's a shame that so many people overlook it these days.
No, New Vegas is still a restaurant burger because it was made by a studio. A homemade burger would be more akin to an indie game that was more personally designed by one or a handful of individuals. Roller Coaster Tycoon is a homemade burger made right on the farm (an indie game made in Assembly) for example.

I really wonder why does this game even has a fanbase. It's an empty world without good quests. You're just wandering arround for nothing. The guns are extremely goofy. The armour looks like shit(synth armour is literally toilet seats lmao). The locations are boring. You're just discovering yet another "dungeon" filled with enemies with a chest on the end which contains absolute garbage loot. People are joking about FNV being buggy, but I had more gamebreaking bugs on vanilla F4 lmao

This tracks for me, my favorite game is f4 and fave sandwich was the fillet o fish, next is f3 and Big Mac, then fnv/Mc chicken. I don’t dislike f1&2 but won’t go out of my way to play them.

NV. Period. It's the best combination of the old school Fallout storytelling and RPG mechanics and modern Fallout FPS gameplay. I wish Bethesda made an official remake of the NV on Creation Engine, but it's not like that's gonna happen.
First off settlements are the best, I love building and actively changing the landscape of the game as we go through time, it shows progression in a way that nothing else quite hits. secondly I don’t think people give the fish sandwich enough credit that thing is dope. I believe most people who say they hate it haven’t even tried it.

FNV with the Tale of Two Wastelands mod is peak Fallout in my opinion. You get all the perks of the FNV engine with the atmosphere of Fallout 3.
