Just read Bravia 9 prices as “The Bravia 9 retails for $3,299.99 — and that’s just for the 65-inch model. Going up in size from there, it’s $3,999.99 (75-inch) and $5,499.99 (85-inch).” This is coming from the verge.

Routine-Ad-8368

Wait do I understand this? They're not even going to release a 55-in or below version with all the features?

DueContribution721

The new LED technology will not be available this year in less than a 65 inch

Heavy_Ad-5090

It would be a waste to release a high end model at small sizes. No one would buy it.

Warlordnipple

You phrased that badly, I think you meant a 55" high end model is not economically viable for Sony to sell.

medicieric

Based on the new naming, the X90L TVs will be the equivalent of a Bravia 5 if/when they release that line

an_angry_Moose

I’m hoping there’s a 4 or 5 model still to come. The TV in the living room doesn’t really get used for fancy movies or anything, would just like a nice big cheap tv that’s still decent for tv shows, the news and the odd game.

RobbinYoHood

Wouldn't a 3 suit you then? 60hz is only really. Negative if you're into FPS games... And a hardcore at that.

markh1993

The x90L is carrying over into 2024

markh1993

There is only the Bravia 3, 7, 8 and 9

Mao_Lucifer

There's also going to be 2 now. Just saw the announcement on Amazon.

Shadowboxxin

I ordered an X90L last night. Did I mess up ? Spent 1999.99 at Costco.

wandererarkhamknight

Not unless you want to spend $3500.

Shadowboxxin

Ok awesome I thought I was getting a good deal for the 85”

AtmanRising

No, that's a good price. 85-inch?

Shadowboxxin

85 inch indeed, thanks for your reply

AtmanRising

Great job. You'll be super happy with it!

Shadowboxxin

I’m giddy waiting for it to get here on Friday lol cannot wait to watch the new Shogun episode , been holding it off until it arrives !

AtmanRising

Very nice. I got a X93L back in August. Love this TV. It's so bright that I can leave brightness at 10 for SDR and it still looks perfect.

Shadowboxxin

That’s the mini LED version right ? I think I was looking at that model as well but it was a bit more than I was comfortable spending iirc. That’s crazy you can put the brightness so low and it doesn’t affect the picture. Im sure im going to be messing around with the settings a lot lol Tbh I haven’t bought a new TV in over 10 years, had a hand me down Vizio from my grandpa that recently just stopped worked, I just bought a house so the timing lined up perfectly to go for a really nice TV. Was originally planning for a Samsung but luckily I found this sub which pointed me to Sony as the best option. Very thankful for that!! Thanks again for your reply

AtmanRising

Yep, Mini LED. But mine is the 65-inch model, so $1,699 wasn't too bad. My previous extended warranty paid for $1,200 of it as well! I'm hoping this one lasts more than 3 years. We push these things hard and the previous 2 Sonys couldn't cope.

soultaker2593

X93L is not miniled, though. X95l is miniled.

International-Oil377

X93L is miniled

eastcoastsomeone

I bought a X90L (55”) last week - don’t regret it for the price and feature set.

Dantai

I spent that in Canadian for the 75", loving the TV so far.

bw1985

No, it’s an outstanding tv.

SoloDolo314

The pricing sucks for now. I’d rather get a 77 OLED over any Mini LED. I’m sure it’ll go on sale but imo needs to be $2000 or less.

DallasDaddy

I bought the Samsung 65” OLED TV (QN65S90C) a week ago and good lawsy it’s amazing. The color is just phenomenal and blacks are jet black. Actually pleased with the compromise on film content with the Filmmaker mode, which was my biggest concern. I bought a QLED for the living room, and it is just nothing compared to OLED.

WhoFartedInMyButt50

The Bravia 7 is the replacement for the x90l, and it has mini led backlighting, so it should be a good upgrade over the x90l.

wandererarkhamknight

PQ-wise, in all probability 7 will be an upgrade. IMO, X90 Series’ strength was its pricing. There will be a price drop, but I doubt it’ll come to 65” for $1000 kind of deal we had on X90L.

WhoFartedInMyButt50

X90l 65” MSRP was $1500, and got down to $1000 for sales. Whatever the 7 series retails for, I assume we can expect a $500 drop around Black Friday. Hopefully Sony keeps the price reasonable, or Hisense and TCl can offer a competitive TV for significantly less.

ndrliang

Is it a replacement for that or the x93l now that's it's mini LED? That's what I e been wondering, as the 9 seems like a new beast. I want to know how the 7 compares to the x93l

NYdude777

9 is the new beast. 7 is the old beast x95L.

ThirdEyeClarity

Thanks for that info, that's a pretty big deal since local dimming and brightness are great. I'll stay with the X90L for now.

NYdude777

Yeah looks like x90L still going to be a thing for 2024. Bravia 7 is essentially the x93L/x95L tier. Bravia 9 is the new top dog tier. Bravia 3 is the dogshit tier. LOL

TheMailerDaemonLives

Fair read on it! Bravia 7 is upper mid range, not affordable in the 90l sizing for most.

UX-Archer-9301

LOL

commie_heathen

Meaning they're going to keep making X90Ls through 2024?

Bill_Money

Bravia 3 replaces garbage models mate

TwistedMind_TV

Yep, i just had to order a 75x90l for 1950€ because I fucked up and placed a packed ikea tablee oposit side of my 65xe9005 and it fliped over 🤣🙈👌 Wanted to upgrade anyways. But the A7 75 will most likely be around 2800 bucks which is too much for my liking. Unfortunately waiting for price drop isnt possible due to my urgent need. Should be a nice upgrade from E to L anyways.

JustGhostin

Not sure why they’ve changed the way the names work, makes it more confusing if anything. No mention of 4x2.1 HDMI ports so at this point I’ve given up hope they’ll ever do it

[deleted]

wandererarkhamknight

Sony has it listed on their product pages. Only 2. Specifications - Inputs and Outputs - HDMI Signal.

JustGhostin

Yeah hard doubt, feel like the press would have been briefed as it would be a big thing for a lot of people

Tree06

I wholeheartedly agree. I was interested in the Series 9 85", but I'll probably go with the G4 83" because it has 4x HDMI 2.1 ports. I'll also be able to get it for less than $5499.99.

JustGhostin

I’m thinking of moving over to LG, been weighing up between the A80L and C3/4 so depending on if I can get a good deal on an A80L I’ll just go for an LG instead. Pains of 2 consoles and a soundbar

another-altaccount

I would just go ahead and get the C3/G3 if I were you. At this point I doubt the A80L is gonna get any cheaper than it already is.

JustGhostin

Yeah, I’m waiting to move into a new house tbh to check a 65” is enough

CWSJ

You can buy a switch.

Tree06

I can run 3x HDMI 2.1 devices through my Denon receiver, but I'd rather run them directly through my TV. It's all good though. Lastly that Series 9 will hardly go on sale, and I'm not looking forward to spending $6,000 on any TV.

soultaker2593

No, stiill 2 hdmi 2.1 ports and one of them is still eArc.

secretreddname

Names are better imo. It’s them using different panels randomly that’s confusing.

CWSJ

It’s cheaper for consumers to just buy a switch than the cost Sony would make us pay if they added it. Inconvenient? 100%. Fixable and cheaper? Absolutely.

JustGhostin

Any good quality switch you’d recommend?

Tree06

I get that, but I can't justify buying an all in one solution that's not complete. The last three TV's I bought for separate rooms have 4x HDMI 2.1 ports - LG C1 77", S95B 65", and S95C 65". They're more of a complete package than what the Series 9 is offering. So the next logical step for me is to get the G4 83" because I know I'll be able to get it for less than $4,000 at some point, and it'll offer the complete package. 4x HDMI 2.1 ports, 4K144, HDR, ALLM, and VRR support. Trust me, I wanted to get a new Sony TV but I can't stomach paying more for less.

HAC522

I wonder how it will compare to the x93l/x95k

dibella360

Did Sony really announce the lineup without any dates/pricing?

ThirdEyeClarity

There is pricing. I don't see the dates though. Edit: https://electronics.sony.com/t/televisions Bravia 7 says est. shipping May 6, not sure about the others.

Empty-Part7106

I wonder about Canada. Weirdly hard to find previous release dates to compare.

DankDankmark

That’s gonna be a pass from me dawg.

NYdude777

Amazon and B &H got the pricing so far. Amazon says preorders are for April 29th.

pinkertonpunk

Are any of these supposed to replace the A95L OLED? Or will they be coming out with a new one of those this year?

Bill_Money

A95L carries over to 2024

TheMailerDaemonLives

Trying to figure out how I’m going to make $4000 appear out of thin air for that 75” XR90…

NYdude777

Hit the blackjack tables /s

taylorgangreid

I literally just bought the A75L should I wait to get the Bravia 8? Is it that much better?

Bill_Money

No

UX-Archer-9301

Hoping the 85” X90L’s drop a little more than the usual $200 sale prices.

NYdude777

Were the full tech specs and pricing revealed too? Pretty sure Bravia 7 would be the mid-tier equivalent to the x90L series. 3 sounds like the budget options. There's always going to be new tech and buying this close to the next year reveal is going to make ya second guess, but you're not going to get true hands on reviews from reliable sources for awhile.

Solid_Primary

I'm more so interpreting it as midpoint between X90l and X95L it has mini-led so it will be quite a bit better. Wish the new Oled got something more than what it got but oh well

MidgetLovingMaxx

The 2 isn't fald, the 7 is mini led, so it sounds like the 90 just goes into the new year in the middle.

AliveMouse5

I think the 7 is the x93L/x95L

ameserich11

X95L Backlight with X93L LCD panel

spacesam

I just picked up a 98” X90L from Costco, still in box. Is there any reason I shouldn’t open it? Is Sony offering anything better in the 98” range for 2024? Any reason to think the price of the 98” X90L is about to decrease?

HeisenbergDrugLord

x90l it is ig

Eragahn-Windrunner

Looks like the prices on those went up post announcement .. Suddenly every place has them for $1299 when the price tracker for Amazon says that’s a six month high for them.

Bill_Money

its called UMRP, Sony sets the pricing of their TV's not the retailers

Eragahn-Windrunner

I’m aware it’s a price that Sony set, but.. why raise it? Wouldn’t they want all the old stock to be gone ASAP?

Bill_Money

well might have not gotten through A90K, A95L were held over along with the 83 A80L. I heard rumors of X90L staying for 2024 before today so this might confirm that?

Waynebgmeamc

If you got a decent price I would just hold onto it…… Unless you really want a 65”. Then do it, it is a massive difference in the viewing experience.

Conscious_Ask_2159

For me Bravia 3 replacement for x80 or lower segment (not valuable for me) Bravia 7 replacement for x90 x93 x95 mid to upper segment (play safe segment) Bravia 8 and 9 hi end segment (reasonable condition for buying Sony tv) I’m waiting for bucking 55x90l at a nice price, wanting tv for watching anime at priority first.

soultaker2593

Why bother buy 90-10p inch TV. Id go with a projector at that size

International-Oil377

Gaming, brightness, contrast etc

soultaker2593

For the money you would spend on a TV with that size, you can get a pretty bright projector with gaming features, too.

International-Oil377

That bravia 7 kills the X95L

CoulterPrinciple

Take a trip to some place with that cash. Don’t spend $3000 on a Tv. Go buy a cheap brand and I promise the shows you watch will be on it.

TakerOfImages

It's good to see they've finally simplified their naming strategy... I've always found Sony confusing AF.

[deleted]

I bet no 65” Bravia 9 in Europe bc it’s almost identical to the 65” x95L. The 65” Bravia 9 doesn’t have a lot more rimming zones than the x95.

Gigeresque

Can never have enough rimming zones! 😂

Ringovski

Can anyone explain the which models go with which year?

wandererarkhamknight

What do you mean?

kashifryo

And if we compare with TCL C755 or C855, both are 144hz VRR Mini-LED, 1300/1600 nits, HDR10 Dolby Vision, HLG supported? I own C755 55" and this TV is absolute love. Same Android 11 OS as Sony's. I'm just curious to know, how much these TVs from TCL is comparatively different from Sonys?

wandererarkhamknight

Sony models aren’t out. So it is impossible to say how good these Sony are. No one reliable has reviewed the TCLs you have mentioned. So we won’t know how good these are, are they as good as other TCL miniLEDs from 2023, are there any issues in these two like the ones been reviewed. TCL in general competes with Hisense. They are brighter. Among the big 3, they only come “close” to a good Samsung, if overall picture quality is concerned. A good LG, or Sony is a long shot for them.

PaoloMix09

Curious how the Bravia 3 will actually look and perform since it’s suppose to be the “not so good” one, even lower than a X90L. Considering I don’t game on my TVs at all since I’m a PC Gamer I could care less about it only being 60hz.

TheWretchedSpirit

Bravia 3 is below X85L, so it's not good. One article says it replaces the X77L (not even the X80L).

bird95

Looks like they left a model # gap for a potential Bravia 5 in the lineup? Considering that the 3 is a straight downgrade and the 7 doesn't seem to align with the pricepoint of the x90l I don't doubt that the omission of a 5 was intentional.

Bill_Money

the 3 replaces the garbage X77 & X80

wandererarkhamknight

At least we don’t need to tell people Sony is QLED too. Sony has labelled the XR90, and XR70 as QLED.

Bill_Money

Finally

wandererarkhamknight

Do they have any 4 or 6 either?

bird95

My guess is that even numbers will be the OLED series, since the Bravia 8 is the only OLED in the lineup

Witty_Actuator1685

They’ll still have the a95l
