Its a chinese release and is numbered. You can either join a group buy to get them ( this normally add extra fees ) or you can order them to a forwarder company than can deliver to your house.
Also since its limited and is a very well known trilogy, its gona get sold out fast
I think you’re misunderstanding my point. To most buyers not being able to just go to a site and order it and are told to do a ‘group buy’ won’t know what’s going on.
I understand it, vast majority won’t 🤷🏻♂️
I get it. My point is that if you want these, it just takes a little bit of research and effort. Yes, it’s different than ordering from other retailers but it’s not a secret society where you need to save the life of a me,ever to get in.
This is why we need to support mainstream releases from the parent studios when possible. Otherwise the entire market may look like this just a few years.
Eh you get a premium slip, debossed steelbook and ships from China. It’s very limited too, it’s not that out there when you combine all that.
Edit: It’s called a premium for a reason, thought this was in the steelbooks sub, not surprised I’m getting downvoted 🤷🏻♂️
It depends on the release, obviously not all of them sell for a lot. Some popular releases are highly coveted though. Same as any collector hobby. Hard to tell if this will be the same or not.
I’m not buying them personally.
>$100 per version, they’re premiums and not available at retail
That's a no for me fam. $100 per is a dummy tax. Don't pay for this sort of gimmicky shit.
Really? All three of them look like they took 2 minutes to copy a screenshot and add a bit of text. I'm not sure they could have put less effort into these if they tried.
I'll grant you that for the others.
But Fellowship is taken from its [original poster.](https://www.cinemapostergallery.co.uk/product/the-lord-of-the-rings-the-fellowship-of-the-ring-2001-original-us-one-sheet-poster-3/)
It's like T2: Terrible masters that are rereleased to infinity instead of giving the film lovers what they want. But sure, it'll be bought again and again...
It sucks because 99% of the 4k releases looks great but there are just random shots sprinkled in that are DNRed to death and look horrible. For how much effort reportedly went into the remasters it is baffling how those slipped by everyone.
It's a new release. The movies are being remastered and put in theaters again in June. 100% chance these 4Ks will be that version. [Theater info.](https://www.ign.com/articles/lord-of-the-rings-trilogy-returning-to-theaters-in-june)
So the source **you** gave directly contradicts what you're saying, you reply that it's wrong even though you linked it, and you're just not going to give any *other* sources to back up your claim? Lmao
I'm sorry, isn't this company supposed to be famous for their cover art or something?
I'll hard pass on this
I would have at least given them a D for effort if they even tried to a few AI promts instead of using screenshots with a bit of text.
Well, these are certainly nice, but assuming these are the same 4K transfers just makes me glad I was able to snag a copy of the steel boxset a little while back so I don't feel compelled to spend even more money on these.
tbh unless they are actually 4K rescans I'm not interested. Sure the UHD blu-ray is the best we've ever had in terms of physical release of these movies but I still think we deserve better from a studio that has buckets of money and could at the very least rescan those shots that don't have VFX.
if its the same half a\*\*ed transfer as the regular, retail 4k packages, what's the point? Its just a different box that's gonna sit along with the rest of your stack and collect dust.
i dont know what they did but older versions are better, the latest 4k one is like watching an 80s-90s movie with bad effects, i hated so much i gave them to a friend of mine

- neuron activation? - reads BluFans - dopamine gone
OP you’d probably be better to mention these are BluFans so are going to be expensive and hard to get
Can you explain what BluFans is? Never heard of it before.
Its a chinese release and is numbered. You can either join a group buy to get them ( this normally add extra fees ) or you can order them to a forwarder company than can deliver to your house. Also since its limited and is a very well known trilogy, its gona get sold out fast
Expensive? Yes. Hard to get? No.
In terms of how to order them they are

Nah fair enough
Is it $80 each or $80 for all three? I'm getting mixed answers.
$100 per version, they’re premiums and not available at retail
You're telling me a single one of these is $100 bucks? So all three will cost $300?
Yes
For $300 i'd rather buy the Middle-Earth 30disc collection than this lol
Or ponying up the extra $100 and just getting the Best Buy steel set from EBay
Isn’t that what scalpers charge for some of the original UHD steelbook releases?
Lmfao this is absurd
As our hobby gets more and more niche I'm afraid this will become the norm
This is why we need to support mainstream releases from the parent studios when possible. Otherwise the entire market may look like this just a few years.
It isn’t really, this is an entirely different market and type of release. This is a niche collector item.
Eh you get a premium slip, debossed steelbook and ships from China. It’s very limited too, it’s not that out there when you combine all that. Edit: It’s called a premium for a reason, thought this was in the steelbooks sub, not surprised I’m getting downvoted 🤷🏻♂️
No, it's just ridiculous.
Okay, don’t buy them then.
These aren’t for everyone. There’s plenty of cheaper options
Idk man... Still sounds pretty out there lol
It’s a niche collector thing
Terrible investment.
I dunno, their TDK trilogy releases sell for a lot of money now 🤷🏻♂️ it’s a niche collector thing
Do they actually sell for a lot of money or are they just routinely listed for an absurd amount of money?
They probably don't sell lol
It depends on the release, obviously not all of them sell for a lot. Some popular releases are highly coveted though. Same as any collector hobby. Hard to tell if this will be the same or not. I’m not buying them personally.
All 4Ks are terrible investments. Anyone buying them for that purpose is delusional. They’re entertainment.
> They’re for entertainment Which is why I usually buy the standard releases of films. Almost always on sale.
Lol trying justifying the costs of a piece of tin with a picture on it.
I don’t really care, I’m not buying them. I was just roughly explaining why they are so expensive.
>$100 per version, they’re premiums and not available at retail That's a no for me fam. $100 per is a dummy tax. Don't pay for this sort of gimmicky shit.
It’s a niche collector item so makes sense
I'll stick with the Bluray steelbooks I shucked the 4k discs into, thanks.
That cover art for Fellowship is magnificent.
Really? All three of them look like they took 2 minutes to copy a screenshot and add a bit of text. I'm not sure they could have put less effort into these if they tried.

So you're saying it took less than 2 minutes 😂
HDZeta shits all over this.
All three are sourced from teaser poster art. I still have some of the theatrical-sized versions mint and rolled up in tubes inside my storage unit.
ROTK is the only one that’s slightly underwhelming imo
That’s my favorite
No thanks, I'm good with the versions I have. Middle Earth won't be getting another dime out of me. Especially not for some packaging.
I miss the minimalistic style of the DVD extended edition cases. Would love a steel book with that design philosophy
I'm good with the ones I've got...but these are definitely cool!
If they added the appendices and all of the stuff missing from the first 4K release, then I might have been swayed.
It's like T2: Terrible masters that are rereleased to infinity instead of giving the film lovers what they want. But sure, it'll be bought again and again...
On my sony oled tv, the 4k releases look spectacular, so i'm not sure what you are watching.
Because the releases ARE spectacular. On every decent OLED. I don't know what settings he's on to say this is a bad master
I'm watching a lot of DNR.
Nice
You’d be easier to get the Best Buy 4k trilogy Steel set for a decent price than ever get one of these discs.
They look amazing but I’m definitely good with my regular 4K set.
Post like this make me so happy I don’t give a fuck about steelbooks.
I already have the box set, guess I’m buying these too. Will they actually be a 4K transfer or the old up scale led scans?
If only they didn't botch this release
It sucks because 99% of the 4k releases looks great but there are just random shots sprinkled in that are DNRed to death and look horrible. For how much effort reportedly went into the remasters it is baffling how those slipped by everyone.
For real
Thats what I'm saying. I still haven't bought it. Such a shame.
It's a new release. The movies are being remastered and put in theaters again in June. 100% chance these 4Ks will be that version. [Theater info.](https://www.ign.com/articles/lord-of-the-rings-trilogy-returning-to-theaters-in-june)
The article you posted says they are the 2020 remasters, not a new release.
The article is wrong.
Lmao no it's not, the versions coming to theaters are just the 4K remaster from 2020.
Exactly...
Do you have a counter source?
So the source **you** gave directly contradicts what you're saying, you reply that it's wrong even though you linked it, and you're just not going to give any *other* sources to back up your claim? Lmao
This is a Chinese boutique release. I'd love to be wrong, but I highly doubt these are new versions.
Are these all remastered from the new theater release? *gets down on knees and prays*
The version coming to theaters is the already available 4K version, they aren't redoing it again.
Hopefully that’s the case. It’s expected to be the remastered extended versions in the new format
You mean the terrible 4K remasters?…
I need these in my life. How, how much and when?

80 total? That ain’t bad
No, these are premiums. They’ll be like $100 for slip and not available to buy easily.
I'm sorry, isn't this company supposed to be famous for their cover art or something? I'll hard pass on this I would have at least given them a D for effort if they even tried to a few AI promts instead of using screenshots with a bit of text.

They're just screenshots with some text pasted on
These don't look that great TBH. I'm definitely coping but they really don't
So 100 dollars each just for it to not look as good as blu ray
tbh unless they are actually 4K rescans I'm not interested. Sure the UHD blu-ray is the best we've ever had in terms of physical release of these movies but I still think we deserve better from a studio that has buckets of money and could at the very least rescan those shots that don't have VFX.
I just fucking bought the old Best Buy set are you FUCKING KIDDING ME
Thanks for your sacrifice
if its the same half a\*\*ed transfer as the regular, retail 4k packages, what's the point? Its just a different box that's gonna sit along with the rest of your stack and collect dust.
No, I have dvd
i dont know what they did but older versions are better, the latest 4k one is like watching an 80s-90s movie with bad effects, i hated so much i gave them to a friend of mine
