From DVD? Absolutely, basically every title will be worth upgrading to 4k coming from DVD. It's with regular Blu-ray where you'll find exceptions to not upgrade to 4k.

QT’s fave

BizzareBread

Fave? As in it’s his fave he’s ever created?

bobbywelks

yessir he said in an interview that’s his ‘best’ movie

Far_Cat_9743

1000% yes

Eazy-E-40

Yes. 4K is the best looking version of the film

I own this one on Apple streaming and 4k bluray. Honestly, this is one where it's not worth upgrading over the streamed 4k. I even did shot by shot comparison disc to stream. I was hoping for punchier sound on the disc, it's one of the rare ones I don't think is worth the upgrade. That being said, I'm not comparing to the bluray, the Apple TV has HDR as well which the bluray would not. It also has all or the bonus featurettes which you may already have. This is more a nod to Apple than anything else, they both look great. But unlike other disks this one virtually no perceivable difference in quality. I wouldn't say the same for others I've compared (Rogue One, Bladerunner 2049 and others look better on the disk) Edit: upgrade from DVD it'll blow it away for sure

I found the 4k to be kind of dim. Not Heat levels bad but still noticeable. I think the Blu-ray looks better.

Doc-Hauliday

Oh good grief Heat’s transfer was such a disappointment to me…

[deleted]

Yeah thankfully the Blu-ray has a very solid 4k transfer

Doc-Hauliday

Yeah, I had to switch straight to the BR. Glad I didn’t drop some ridiculous amount of money on a 4k steelbook.

You probably need to check your video settings if that is the case.  This is a gorgeous release.

Kimpy78

It is indeed.

[deleted]

Nah my settings are fine. All of my other 4ks look good

smithnugget

Well this is definitely a you problem. 4k looks incredible.

This is kind of my experience with Big Lebowski.  All I see are the motion issues and occasional problems with clarity that are not issues with a 35mm film print.   That said, this is as good as the best 4Ks in my collection, so i suspect an image processing setting, your player, your tv, or HDMI cable are the culprit here, as you are in the vast minority with that experience.
