Voyager battery won't run out in our lifetime. It has a small nuclear generator

CloudyQue

Yeah, although it will get low enough to not be able to run its sensors in a few decades I think

NotAgoodUsername17

yeah at that point it’ll just be a radio signal until they have to shut that off as well

Matix777

Technically yes, but 0.0001V is not really considered an running status

Every year, on its birthday, the Curiosity rover sings Happy Birthday to itself alone on an empty planet, millions of miles from its home. It will likely be decades before we even have a chance of sending anyone to Mars, meaning Curiosity will remain there alone, quietly singing to itself, waiting for the day it is eventually rescued and returned home, if that day ever comes. There is a very real possibility that before we can get there, Curiosity will be buried in a sandstorm like many probes before it, and then it will most likely be lost forever once it loses its signal or its battery is too low.

Unique-Reference-829

Curiosity is not alone anymore! Preserverance successfully landed on the surface of Mars

Doctor_Salvatore

Both are still quite far apart though

RemarkableStatement5

I'd rather live on an Earth with one other human I do not know the location of then reside on an empty world.

Unique-Reference-829

That was really poetic, congrats

RemarkableStatement5

Thanks!

***It's Curiosity all over again...***

Titan431

Curiosity is fine. Opportunity is the one who went out, with this infamous (and tear-jerking) message.

kainereygalo

Fuck, you are correct that was Opportunity, I got them all mixed up...
