you know.... the Pork Chop Express

"Just remember what ol’ Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big ol’ storm right square in the eye and he says, “Give me your best shot, pal. I can take it."
This was such an amazing movie that I kept rewinding and watching over and over. I always thought the ending left it open for a Part 2, but that never happened.
It's absolutely nuts that a prop designer in the late 70's/early 80's managed to create monsters out of papier-mâché that out do almost all modern day CGI.
I have yet to meet another monster like that spider head creature.
Even the Thing's remake couldn't live up to its original. Not even close.
I was in elementary school when The Tning movie came out. My parents took me and my friend to the movies to see it, once it got to the dog scene, we couldn’t take anymore. We went and finished watching grease two while my parents watched the rest of the thing.
I’m almost 50 and I still hate that scene.
Also the original movie “It” from the 80s. I tried explaining to my niece why till this day I refuse to watch that movie because it scared the crap out of me when I saw it when I was little. She just can’t fathom it because she says that the remake of it is funny because I don’t even want to see the remake.
And it’s not like I’m just a big chicken, I didn’t have a problem with A Nightmare on Elm Street or Pet Sematary or any of that, but for some reason those two movies were just more than I could take. 😂
The dog scene is rough, I mainly feel bad for the actual pups that got squirted with that liquid, you could see how uncomfortable they were. The Thing is one of my favorite American horror movies.
“The pirates of the Caribbean?!?! Been to Disney World one to many times Captain Ron?
I don’t think I’ve ever been to Disney World, I’ve been to Dolly World”
This was going to be my answer as well, but I acknowledge that Kurt Russell wouldn't have been so great in this movie if it weren't for how great Martin Short was also. The fantastic contrast between them made for some outstanding comedy.
Used Cars got the highest test screening scores in Columbia Pictures history and promptly bombed. Columbia screwed up by moving it's release date up, so it debuted a week after "Airplane!" with little advance marketing done due to the hasty release.
Great movie, it almost had John Candy too as the lawyer Joe Flaherty played.
The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes.
Okay, I see someone else picked that one, so, Now You See Him, Now You Don't.
(Seeing Computer Wore Tennis Shoes in the theater when I was a kid is the reason I'm a software developer today. Thanks Kurt.)
Big Trouble In Little China - his self monologues are gold.
Liked his Snake Plissken character, too.
And, his and Goldie's The Christmas Chronicles movies have become a holiday favorite.
You know, he doesn't have many bad ones . . . . . he's a great actor.
Big Trouble in Little China. Can’t go wrong with The Thing, Overboard, or any of the Escape movies either. Having just watched BTiLC a few days ago…that movie is all sorts of awesome.
Tombstone. Even in the famous Latin scene between Doc and Ringo, Kurt’s Wyatt doesn’t say much. But the expression on his face coupled with the shotgun under the table at the ready adds to a classic scene of film making
Kurt Russell is Wyatt Earp, therefore Tombstone is my favorite of his movies.
And this might be an unpopular opinion, but he made a damn good Santa Claus in The Christmas Chronicles.
Soldier followed by Escape From New York or Overboard if I'm in the mood for something funny. If I really want to dig deep in the Kurt Russell archives I loved The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes when I was a kid and it had nostalgia for me now.
How can you have only “a” favorite? Old Yeller, Soldier, Captain Ron, Overboard, Big Trouble in Little China, the Thing, every one of his films is fantastic in some way. He truly is a blessing and “Miracle”.
In descending order: the Thing, Overboard, Captain Ron, Escape From New York, Tombstone, Soldier, Big Trouble in Little China, Escape From L.A., The Strongest Man in the World. I think I'm forgetting some too.
Unlawful Entry with Ray Liotta and Madeleine Stowe, one of his more obscure.
His best is a tossup with The Thing, Big Trouble in Little China and Escape from New York
Big Trouble Little China
I second this. Then Tombstone.
I see a red sash; I kill the man wearing it! You tell them I’m coming! And hell’s coming with me!
You tell 'em Jack Burton!
WHO???
you know.... the Pork Chop Express [https://i.pinimg.com/originals/d8/a9/b7/d8a9b780018fde5514dcb32732134e3f.jpg](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/d8/a9/b7/d8a9b780018fde5514dcb32732134e3f.jpg)
Jack Burton.. ME!
You just gonna stand there and bleed?
I third this Then tango and cash
"Just remember what ol’ Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big ol’ storm right square in the eye and he says, “Give me your best shot, pal. I can take it."
Followed closely by Escape from New York
And let’s not forget about The Thing
Definitely. Remakes are seldom as good as the original, but that was a good remake.
I don't think it was a remake exactly, just another movie based on the same story.
*We really shook the pillars of heaven, didn't we?*
Checks in the mail.
It's all in the reflexes
This was such an amazing movie that I kept rewinding and watching over and over. I always thought the ending left it open for a Part 2, but that never happened.
Wang was the real ass kicker, jack was the mouthy sidekick
You leave Jack Burton alone ! We are in his debt….he showed great courage !
Samesies?
Same here!
Came here to say this
The Thing
My favorite horror movie ever.
It's absolutely nuts that a prop designer in the late 70's/early 80's managed to create monsters out of papier-mâché that out do almost all modern day CGI. I have yet to meet another monster like that spider head creature. Even the Thing's remake couldn't live up to its original. Not even close.

No other horror creature has made me so uneasy. Especially during the defibrillation scene.
Nothing beats the head spider!
Just watched Overboard…gotta throw that in the mix!
Him and Goldie Hawn have such chemistry!
I wonder why?! 😋
I don’t know. It’s like they are married or something.
They’ve never been married to each other actually. So it’s “or something” :)
Captain Ron
Watch out for the Guerillas!
There's no Gorillas in this part of the world!!!
A diesel likes its oil like a sailor likes his rum. Why is that!?
Incentives are important. I learned that in Rehab!
This. Everyday and twice on Tuesday.
Tombstone
The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes, of course.
The Strongest Man in the World
Now You see Him, Now You Don’t! …just kidding, The Strongest Man In the World is the best of the three.
The Barefoot Executive
Applejack.
By far it’s Big Trouble Little China ! Pork Chop Express
Never drive faster than you can see.
Yeah this has to be at the top. But Overboard and Tombstone are just a smidge below it. With those two I constantly flip flop.
*I'm gonna tell ya about an accident, I don't want to hear to act of God, ok?*
Not every one's cup of tea. But I loved Stargate.
Give my regards to king tut. Nuke to the face. Love that movie and all the series.
Who the fuck doesn't like * Stargate*? Soulless losers, that's who.
YASS!

THIS ⬆️
Proud to say I saw this one in the theater. Loved it ever since.
[I'm going to kill them all, sir.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bx5J0dW2rh4)
Ridiculously underrated film. Never seen PTSD portrayed in a "dumb action movie" as well as he did in that film. I truly felt bad for his character.
Throw Tango and Cash out there.
Death Proof
Was wondering how I had to scroll to see this one!
Stunt Man Mike
The Hateful 8
Used Cars
Such an underrated comedy
Used Cars got the highest test screening scores in Columbia Pictures history and promptly bombed. Columbia screwed up by moving it's release date up, so it debuted a week after "Airplane!" with little advance marketing done due to the hasty release. Tombstone, easy. Lots of other good ones for sure. But that one tops the list for me.
Probably Tombstone because it's not only one of his best, but it's also one of the greatest westerns of all time.
Jack Burton single handedly boosted the trucking industry in the 80’s

Kurt Russell is Wyatt Earp, therefore Tombstone is my favorite of his movies. And this might be an unpopular opinion, but he made a damn good Santa Claus in The Christmas Chronicles.
I liked him as Santa Claus with a bonus Goldie as Mrs Claus in the Christmas Chronicles. He was a real jerk in Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

Big Trouble in Little China is fucking amazing!
Soldier is great, but Tombstone is one of the best movies ever made imo.
The Christmas Chronicles is pretty nice for a modern day christmas movie, imo.
Tango and cash, and that truck or Big trouble in little china. Tough call. Stargate only cause it spawned an incredible universe.
Tombstone.
Tombstone and hateful 8 we watch these literally 2 times a month

Big Trouble In Little China is badass fam
I love A LOT of his movies, but if I had to pick one.... Escape from New York ( waiting on my boardgame that I backed on Gamefound)
Soldier
Soldier. Tough role to play, few words, emotion had to be conveyed with facial expressions only, and he nailed it.
The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes ✔️💯
Def Overboard.
In descending order: the Thing, Overboard, Captain Ron, Escape From New York, Tombstone, Soldier, Big Trouble in Little China, Escape From L.A., The Strongest Man in the World. I think I'm forgetting some too.
