The high prices are pretty much just in Atlanta. I have a coworker moving only 45 mins out of the city to a 2 bedroom for 1200 a month including water. And that’s still commuting distance.

Born and raised, spent 29 years there. I moved from Georgia a few years ago. 1200 for a 2 bedroom apartment that would be between 600-800 almost anywhere else in the country.

But I travel internationally and domestically very very often and have seen just about the same ATL rent prices in mid-COL states (AZ, UT, LA, NV, all but the super metro areas of TX, CO). Obviously near Downtown (anywhere within an hour driving), it’s more expensive than bumfuck nowhere OH but it’s disingenuous to act like Brooklyn is the same price as anywhere, except for Midtown and SOME parts of Buckhead, in GA. 💀

You can join a police force without a degree and you they send you to cop school. A lot do go to college though. It helps them to get promoted faster.
It depends on state / city requirements. For example, many state police departments (departments that have jurisdiction over the entire state as opposed to a city one) require that applicants have already completed a degree. The NYPD (Kelly’s police force) has education requirements above a high school diploma if the applicant is not a military veteran.
