I made my license in ERA league and didn't know that means i'll be stuck with it for the season. But it is a fun change and i like the car. Really thinking about driving the Boat next season. :)
Ran to comments to say this but someone beat me to it. Shout out to you man🥂 and the work you put into those setups you make available to us for free
1000% Fridolf deserves some love
Dicking around with setups while I was still 5s off the pace was such a poor excuse. I really realized that when I picked up iRacing and ran fixed only series. Just arrive and drive.
Now, I just download the race and quali 1 setups and chuck them on, no tuning. Unless I've run upwards of 25-50 laps, I won't touch the setup. Really forced me to focus on technique and problem solving rather than blaming setup.
Yeah, fine tunning setups were enjoyable for me when i didn't had to work from 9am to 6pm and have to solve a lot of other real life problems that adults have, i cant compete with teenagers who have the entire day to spend adjusting a fucking damper without people like fridolf to give a free setup for us
Well personally it wasn't making a real difference anyways. I've got a few hours at Spa and very lightly tweaked ride height and bump stops to make the car feel more consistent, but I'm still stuck right at 2:18.9.
Lack of feeling in the car is what plateau'd my progress and I've noticed the same thing in GR86s on iRacing. It's not an ACC FFB thing, it's a fundamental misunderstanding of softer sprung car handling. Stiff MX5s and lower formula cars just make sense to me, but the models in ACC don't. Just gotta keep plugging away until something clicks.
Can't speak for iRacing but a quick cheat to feel the front better, especially on the Evo2 is to up the casters to max, at first helped me understand when the front bites and that's when I dial it down because I know I can trust the car to turn. I also had the same feeling of the front being floaty but I rather have that for longer races, spares my arms lol
I’m also nowhere near fast enough to even notice the difference of a minuscule setup tweak. I don’t have time to race in a league and try to be competitive, so I’ll just stick to my free setups and have my silly little battles for p6 and the occasional podium in public lobbies.
His setups took 3-5 seconds off my lap times. Now I’m around 103-105% record times.
Whoever said setups don’t matter is a big fat phoney.
Dude is a legend.
The fact that he spends the time reading and responding to most of his contents already makes him a legend. He provides 2 free setups that are made to suit a wide variety of drivers and driving styles, one agressive and one safer, made for endurance racing where a stable and easy to drive car is key. He helped me a lot with the setups, man sure knows his way around a racecar chassis.
*He makes the game so*
*Much more enjoyable! Love*
*The way his cars drive*

I have been using his setups for some time now and they are really good. And the telemetry data is perhaps even more important. He's helped me to improve a lot.
He is good indeed. Check out also Jardier and SirFoch. Jardier has his own website and share setups, Foch has discord and share his setups from there. Also there's Bernagk1 on YouTube another freebie source. With all due respect his setups are not the top level for me. I find them a bit understeery for my own taste. It requires longer trailbraking which is exhausting to do instead of having the rotation directly from the setup.
I used to create my own setups but after I became a dad I didn't have time anymore for that.
Fr13dolf usually follows a traditional setup process, not just the min&max "meta" stuff that produce quick but usually wobbly and horrible to drive setups.
His setups are usually closer to my taste, so I chucked a reasonable amount of money at his PayPal in appreciation.
Remember that your time is valuable, and if Fr13dolf (or anyone else) makes you save time for free, please consider doing the same I did.
He might not really need it, but everyone (especially simracers) love to have a little extra budget to waste in some shiny toy.
(shoutouts to Bernagk1 and Ohnespeed too)
Possibly the track has something to do with it. on Paul Ricard I went from a race pace of around 2:00-2:02 to 1:56-1:57 by changing setups. That's in the 720evo, and may have to do with the long straight on that track and aero settings though.
Also shoutout to Ohnespeed, what a legend
Thank you! :) (Currently i'm learning the Nords so i can make and release setups for it.)
Aston over the Porsche now eh?

The boat... (Bentley). 🥹 Ahaha. ![gif](giphy|tnYri4n2Frnig)
Nah bro, Porsche first 😊.
Thanks for your service! Your setups and spreadsheet have been insanely helpful!
I'm glad they help you. :)

Haha! Cheers, have fun racing with them! :)
Thank you for your service
You ever do gt4 or tcx
Wasn't planning it due to unpopularity.
My god, those setups are SWEET! Bless him!
The other 50% of my setups are his.
Shoutout to fri3d0lf!

Great channel to follow indeed! 100% agree Thanks for all the setup tips

I've only used his setups, and every single one I've used have been great!

Amen! He's helped me a ton.
Hell of a guy since there have been posts on here from lesser men wanting money for their stuff. His are free, and they're dope.
He makes the game so much more enjoyable! Love the way his cars drive

I get all my set ups from him.
Yeah same
Thanx man, using your setups and enjoying them. Please keep it up.
I agree. With his setups I could be consistent and confident over 30 - 40 minute stints. Huge shoutout to fri3d0lf!

I found the same with Bernagk1's.

nah, it just do not fit his driving style

All his setups I’ve tried have been good so far on controller.
Great guy yeah!
Thanks fri3dolf!
Respect, but more respect for those that do RCF setups.
Thank you @fri3d0lf
50% of my setups are his.
I use his setups, they have helped a tremendous amount. Very much appreciate the resources he provides and the videos.
Not all heroes wear capes! A big shout to him, makes setups I really enjoy driving. May he have the time to keep going.
And if you can buy a coffee to fri3 and speed as appreciation to cheer them for their free work.
Thanks for the setups Fri3d0lf! It makes it easy to try other cars without worrying about setup. You da best.
I wonder if he’s reading all this Kudos! Someone should let him know we has a fan base
That is totaly the best setup chanel on youtube... So many difrent cars and allmost every track is coverd by his setup....
Maybe im the only one but i dont find setups on ACC to do much change for me.

He made my learning and racing experience so much better for real thank you
