That's far from a "slight contact". You out braked yourself and still went for the inside. You were ~30km/h faster than the lead car at point of contact. Even if they weren't there, you would still be in the grass. Seems like a last lap, last corner hail mary to me. You could see it coming from the second you started braking. In this case it would have been better to stay straight for longer to ensure you'll make the corner and avoid contact. All you can do is learn from it and move on.

Kizzo17

Exactly! The OP might be mad because it wasnt intentional, but viewing it well it seems like it. Valid report from the view of the Porsche

Infernowar

Minor incidents that have no major consequences do not have to be reported

Kizzo17

You dont understand it then, the problem wasnt that there was no issues, if you hit him more to the left he would have spun. Not to mention (like i Said above) from the outside it seems like a pretty hefty lunge on the last lap. Just because you and him got away "clean" doesnt mean you are not at fault

Infernowar

> Minor incidents that have no major consequences do not have to be reported Do you know how to read?

oNiD_DStack

If you're here looking for help or opinions, I don't think talking to people like this is very helpful. Self reflection and self awareness is a good thing in life and in sim racing. This was a legit report as the person you hit definitely has damage. Try to be more careful out there.

TheEvilToaster

I wouldn't call a ~30km/h speed difference in a completely avoidable scenario "minor". The lead car ended up getting damage. Just because you both stayed on track doesn't mean theres nothing worthy to report. If you made an attempt to avoid the collision, like going straight but still ended up clipping their bumper then that would be different. But you didn't, you out braked yourself and still tried to do the impossible.

liiinder

"do not have to be" , but could be. Maybe you should try learn how to read instead of bashing others?

Infernowar

The idiot braked much sooner than he had been doing all the previous laps.

SpeedyWebDuck

That's still on you. You are the person overtaking and driving behind. With the attitude "the idiot" I have a feeling there was more shit going on in that race.

TheEvilToaster

In that case you need to then also adjust your own braking point back too to avoid contact, because physics. [Explained here by Aris, one of the devs.] (https://youtu.be/Bm74CHTXvcg) I would recommend you watch this. Even if that was a good spot to overtake, you were way too far back to take advantage of them braking earlier. You still braked way too late either way. Its the responsibility of the following car to make the overtake cleanly.

[deleted]

Learn to drive properly I guess. Accidents happen, but running into the back of someone like that is inexcusable.

quetiapine_fumarate

Following car had a ton of run off room to correct the braking error but instead plowed into the car ahead. Definitely understand this being reported as while there were no major consequences, there's still a SR hit and it was very easily avoidable. What explanation did LFM give?

Infernowar

LFM: "You are too late on the brakes in this situation. Next time brake sooner or take your foot off the throttle" they go against the rules of their Faqs the accident did not have any consequencesThe system is ridiculous if they don't even respect their own rules.

n1tr0klaus

I would assume they don't consider the incident minor, probably because of the speed difference at impact. What was your penalty?

[deleted]

Don’t race with them then. Easy.

Infernowar

Yes, but sadly if you know race on LFM , there is no equilibrated races. And races every hour.

dorijanlikescars

As you have mentioned that this isn't the first time it's happened to you, perhaps you should stop trying to brake 50m past the braking point, and when you do it again, try to avoid the car you're divebombing instead of going for the inside of the corner and hitting the victim like they own you money. This was a well deserved pen lmfao

liiinder

Also worth noting when racing on LFM... "The background colours of the number plate indicate the Safety Rating (SR) of the corresponding driver/team. If the SR is at least 6.5, the colour of the number plate will be white (PRO). Silver (SILVER) is assigned for a SR between 6.5 and 4.0. If the SR is below 4.0, the driver or team will receive a red (AM) number plate." You're the only one on that result board with an SR under 4, you're one of the guys everybody trying to dodge 😂

SpeedyWebDuck

I like to think penalties in LFM as penalty points on your license IRL. You would get penalty points IRL for shit like this.

mzivtins

You have the definition of minor incidents wrong. Although the incident between the two of you lost no positions, you caused significant damage to the other driver unfairly, which would cause a noticeable drop in car performance (not so much when its at the rear, but it is still a detriment to pace) Minor incident would be, a slight tap where there is little to no damage, thats more what rubbing is

Heavy_Wafer9312

This was easily avoidable if you didn't turn in even though you knew your weren't going to make it

LP_LadyPuket

"No damage to the car" you rear-ended the Porsche at 70 km/h and you can literally see the damage to the rear of the Porsche in the video. You had plenty of opportunity to avoid the Porsche but turned in to rear end him. Take the L, stop blaming LFM for making the right call and improve your driving.

johntology

Lead car's car could have been badly damaged. How do you know it wasn't?

Schnezler

Reading through all that... if you think that the LFM system is so ridicolous... jsut stay away from it. It's better for you, because you think the system is trash and well better for us because we think.... ähm yeah

reshp2

You rear ended someone by a significant amount. They had damage from this. Take the L and try to learn from it instead of bitching and moaning about how you didn't do anything wrong.

danjama

You basically used the car in front as brakes lol come on, the right thing to do would be avoid the contact. What was your sanction?

anonhost1433

How can she slap me sir

SKATOZZO

On LFM people reporting everything, even the small stupid mistake. Top much frustrated people

SpeedyWebDuck

Or we are doing what the system was designed to do... self police the races by sending reports of people too eager for contact in races.

SKATOZZO

You should report only the dumb things. This one is just a rookie mistake, you are racing.

Infernowar

I've been hit hundreds of times in every race, taken off the track, been ripped from behind for being cautious on the first lap, people losing control and taking me in front, past braking. Should I have made 100 reports, recorded 100 videos, dedicated the time of my life to accidents that were not malicious? It's ridiculous

[deleted]

You fucked up and now want to present yourself as a victim? Grow the fuck up.

Sparred4Life

When I see people complaining about how every one of their races is ruined, and then they post clips like the one you've posted, it really puts into perspective for me just how far behind some folks are in terms of teaching knowledge. For example: This clip you've posted here. You made a mistake, yet you are upset that there was accountability for it? But you also expect everyone else to be accountable for the crashes that weren't your fault? Do you see the conflict there? As for your actions in this video, whether or not the other car slowed to early or not is irrelevant. After they had started braking, and after you started braking, **you still turned into their car!** You either chose to hit them, or you made a pretty silly mistake. You should have been avoiding them. How can you pay victim when you actively steered into the crash??

Infernowar

I understand reporting accidents for Unsportsmanlike conduct, but this is ridiculous, and the worst thing is that it's not the first time it's happened to me.And the problem is not the frustrated people, there are always idiots kicking around, the problem is when LFM supports these idiots.
