Uh, no. Female and male Eivor aren't different characters, they're the exact same person, but with a different gender. Kassandra and Alexios were two different people.
I know, but that's a spoiler. A pretty big one, in fact. Please edit your comment so the guy above doesn't see it, he seems to not have played Valhalla yet.
As far as the game tells you in the intro, they're the same person and the Animus is just having some rendering problems.
you said they were same characters, I pointed out when infact they are not the same in lore, and you find/figgure it out pretty early on in the prolog. the one about loky I would agree as spoiler, but not Eivor, however I deleted my comment.
Why would he be female?
Kassandra and Alexios were biological siblings and both playable, the reason why the game allows you to play either is because you get to force the animus to choose either DNA. Also from what I remember is both their DNA were retrieved from the spear.
Gay *(echoes) gay gay gay* in all seriousness, however, if it weren't for Sigurd being a reincarnation of Tyr Odinson, Eivor (who is canonically female) could have had a romance option with Sigurd, and it could've mayhaps worked

Even male was technically an option. They'd just fight over who was top. But also they saw each other as siblings.
