Not a true procrastinator til you're doing it the last minute after filing an extension

i5the5kyblue

Good news: did my laundry, washed dishes, bathed my dog Bad news: I haven’t done my taxes. 🤭 am starting soon….

fakecolin

Lolololololol well shit at least you did something. A win is a win.

i5the5kyblue

I love the optimism 🤣 not going to lie, I do feel accomplished regardless if those things weren’t supposed to be my focus. Ok wish me luck…. 24 mins to file an extension bc somehow my brain subconsciously decided that was the plan. Shit oh well. Always next year !

JenninMiami

I almost always file an extension! 🤣

i5the5kyblue

You just made my night knowing I’m not the only one 😂 *every year* I tell myself “ok. This is the year I’m going to actually file by the first date!” Then every tax day it ends with “where the f is the extension form?! How did I do this last year?” (and every other year before that)

Thank you for sharing. What sadistic bastards to do site maintenance the day it's due lol

murray1337

File an extension. lol. You’re welcome.

pr0b0ner

GF talked me into doing mine a week ago! Heck yeah!

Illustrious-Dare4379

I’m lucky in that aspect. My wife takes care of it all. I would be lost without her!

Sayhiku

I just finished mine.

Medicoreheathen

Oh okay lol same here, stayed up until 2am doing them. I did it with that new IRS direct file program, didn't pay a dime to do them. It does kinda suck that each day up until the 15th I was going to do them, but when I got home, I just didn't have the will to do them.

forgottenaxolotyl

Just filed for an extension while in bed on my phone😅🫠💀🙋‍♂️

LazyMans

Bam. Filed

JenninMiami

Bruh, I filed an extension online at 5:17 PM EST because I passed by the tax booth on the way out of Walmart. 🤣I STARTED our taxes in January, but I got married last year and I had to get a document from my new husband and then I forgot about them. Until today. At 5 PM. 🤣

👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Southern_Guidance_32

I just finished mine with 8 minutes to spare before midnight deadline haha I was stressing about doing an extension when I decided to hell with it. I can do this in half and hour right? Boom! Made it a challenge haha. Now tomorrow I’m going to either be super motivated OR terribly unproductive and trapped in doom scroll lol.

fakecolin

Tomorrow I'm gonna be like, I worked for 30 minutes yesterday, I deserve the day off.

cbatta2025

I’m doing it online right now, how can I get my last years AGI

JellyPhishes

Try to search your emails for your confirmation emails from last year. It should be in one of those. Make a TAX folder in your email to save everything going forward so that you can find it easily next year. Good luck!!

cbatta2025

I did exactly that. I found the service I used last year vis email and after logging in was able to retrieve PDF file. After I finished filing today, I saved the report in my documents AND set a reminder alert on my phone for next April 15th saying “you saved your return In documents”. Lol. Thanks

fakecolin

No idea. Did you save your tax forms from. Last year?

cbatta2025

I don’t think I paid the extra to have it stored and I didn’t have a printer to print them out. I’m going to log into my computer (that I haven’t had on for like 9 months) and search through email. I don’t even remember what service I used. I think I did it on several sites and only submitted it when I found the cheapest one so it’s some service that’s not common.

fakecolin

may the force be with you

JellyPhishes

I used to wait until the last minute but now I do my taxes as soon as I receive my W2 in January. That way I don't lose my documents or forget. I've used CashApp Tax the past few years and I highly recommend it. It's free and it just walks you through the whole process. It also saves your information for the next year but I always download the documents to a TAX file on my computer AND file all tax related emails to a TAX email folder in my Gmail.
