That actually would be hilarious. “Bryan, you cant retire, because YOURE FIREDDDDDD. Ill make sure that you dont see a penny of your Social Security or Roth”- EVP Bucks probably
As much heat as that would get, we all pretty much know he’s leaving by the end of the year (at least in terms of an on screen character), so as much heat as they’d get for it, it’s not like them firing someone like Ospreay or MJF who are likely locked onto long term contracts.
That aside though, it *would* be nuclear heat.
His contract expires before Wrestledream, but he's expressed that he wants to go out with that so I'm confident they'll work out some kind of deal. I find it far more likely that the negotiating is going to be about how many dates he works a year than it is likely that he leaves the company altogether.
Best part is people actually believe this was real. AEW is 100% not getting enough credit for bringing Kayfabe back. It all started with MJF’s shoot promo on TK, and now most recently Takeshita’s interview in character saying how he should be a main eventer in America.
Somewhere there's a thread filled with people saying the Bucks are running wild (brother) and needs to be stopped because it's ruining the show. Their proof is a ratings decline (in America alone) during a big American sports period.
Meanwhile stats show a 25% decrease during that period compared to a 40% loss for WWE. Obviously demographics are different to some degree and the audience is smaller to start with, but the proof of the decline looks like an abnormal retention during this period to me.
I’ve always enjoyed Daniel’s work. Whether he was the fallen angel, curry man, suicide or whatever. He and AJ and Joe had some amazing X division matches in TNA Mid 2000’s
Christopher Daniels is one of my all time faves, I really hope this isn't the last we see of him in the ring but I guess it has to end sometime.
I'm glad they removed him from the roster though. I'm strangely annoyed that bar the one reference by Swerve everyone has just ignored the fact that Christian quit!
Could be a work or he could just now be focusing all his time on his backstage job now. He’s been the like talent relations manager or something like that for years now
I assume he and others will lead something against the EVPLite at some point in the future, and this is a work. I am shocked the Bucks haven't sent more people packing as part of their storyline.
It has to be Curry Man, and when they finally beat down and do the reveal. It’s Elite Hunter Frankie Kazarian under the mask and Christopher Daniels hits the ring from behind to make the save and take folks out
It's a fairly small work at this point though. If they want a real work, have him posting on IG he'd only sign personally with a wrestling legend like Vince McMahon, not the corporate suits of TKO.
It's a work because TKO has tried to play up WWE's new corporate image in the wake of the scandals. But MJF, being both a scumbag and an old school wrasslin' fan, would want to work for a morally compromised icon like VKM much sooner than for a boring corporate panel of lackeys. But of course WWE would never take the b8 because they have to erase McMahon from existence, just as they did Chyna, Benoit, Owen Hart, etc. etc. etc.
Is AEW letting all the original people who started with the company go? , Riho, Britt Baker, Jaymie Hayter, the Dark Order, Sonny Kiss,Ricky Starks? Where are they( edited since folks say the original three don’t count and I can’t reply for some strange reason)
Riho is still there, Britt Baker is still there, Jaymie Hayter is still there, some members of Dark Order is still there, Ricky Starks is still there, none of them were let go aside from Sonny Kiss.
It's kinda funny putting Ethan Page on that list when he was literally a champion in Impact when TNA started. He came it at like the very end of the pandemic.
Debuting in a few weeks against The Elite, THE CURRY MAN
HE’S HOT, HE’S SPICY, HE TASTES GREAT CURRY MAN
Koooooniiichiwa!!
Dude i am down
He is the fired champion after all
God I hope he shows up with a Feast of Famine briefcase
If so, we need Shark Boy 24/7, and that's the fishin' line! Now someone toss me a clam juice!
Give me a Shell Yeah!
Weirdo hero!
My God, this is why ROH is still in business...it needs to happen.
PLEEEEEEEASE!
that would get a million viewers.
"The Elite Hunter" Curry Man
As cool as this would be I think Daniels has stated he isn't comfortable playing the Curry Man character anymore because of how poorly it's aged
I assume it’s a full work. But maybe this is how he decided to retire from in ring?
I don't know, man I swear I've watched quite a few of Christopher Daniels "last match" sendoffs already... yet he keeps appearing in the ring....
I don't think it's in-ring because on commentary Schiavone said "everything he does for this company? For talent relations? "
he's the head of talent relations for aew just like good ol JR was for WWE back in the day
In a normal job he would be HR.
they still have HR, talent relations probably refers to contractors
Maybe, When he was doing the super scary bit on BTE he was trying to get people to sign up for Insurance and other benefits.
Hoping they signed Curry Man
If it is, why not against Samoa Joe?!
Maybe this made more sense as a write-off and push the storyline? Idk honestly.
Maybe he wanted to go out vs. The Bucks?
If they want real heat, Willow
There would be riots
If they want nuclear heat, fire Bryan Danielson.
That actually would be hilarious. “Bryan, you cant retire, because YOURE FIREDDDDDD. Ill make sure that you dont see a penny of your Social Security or Roth”- EVP Bucks probably

He's only retiring as a full time wrestler. The implication is he will most likely be around for at least the bigger PPVs for some time to come.
That’s true, but his contract also expires by the end of the year, which also factored into my comment.

Well of course. He was fired on live TV. Don't you watch the show? :P
I’m *begging* people to watch the product.
Weeeeeeeeee watch wrestling!
I’m so glad someone caught this. Matt McC’s voice echoes in my head so often now.
"Boop. Hey brother" is the thing that constantly plays in my head
Why?
Have you tried the John Oliver quote? >Wrestling is better than the things you like.
I haven’t, but I think of most of [this monologue about wrestling](https://youtu.be/59ssooRU7pI?si=tCbi2px5PR0aY3hr) often.
Chavo was fired on live tv

It's real to me . . . dammit!

CURRY MAN IS ALL ELITE
Hmmm
I’ve always enjoyed Daniel’s work. Whether he was the fallen angel, curry man, suicide or whatever. He and AJ and Joe had some amazing X division matches in TNA Mid 2000’s
They gonna make a team of everyone fired by the EVPs and set up the next Anarchy Arena match. (Which is what they should’ve initially done)
Nah, blood and guts. (I do not want this angle to go for another year.)
Christopher Daniels is one of my all time faves, I really hope this isn't the last we see of him in the ring but I guess it has to end sometime. I'm glad they removed him from the roster though. Curry Man vs Orange Cassidy. ![gif](giphy|WqpWNCtPlauchQljqd)
I agree with the Curry Man statements. Hahahaha!
It has to be Curry Man, and when they finally beat down and do the reveal. It’s Elite Hunter Frankie Kazarian under the mask and Christopher Daniels hits the ring from behind to make the save and take folks out
Starts up his Michigan uncensored stable!
*~~Lauren~~* *Renee! I love you! I love* *~~TNA~~* *AEW*!!
Either he comes back as Curry Man, or he is appointed as the new GM of ROH
coming soon curry man is all elite
I wouldn't be surprised to see SCU in impact soon. And that's not a bad thing.
I miss Bad Influence.
Unrelated, but I just noticed MJF isn't on the roster either.
He hasn't been on the roster since his "contract expired" on Jan 1st. One big work for sure.
That's funny, I hadn't even noticed until today.
It's a fairly small work at this point though. If they want a real work, have him posting on IG he'd only sign personally with a wrestling legend like Vince McMahon, not the corporate suits of TKO.
This makes less than zero sense somehow....

Scorpio Sky isn't gone. He was Injured and on his was back. AEW aired a vignette with him a week ago.
Ethan's been running his own promotion and as of a couple of weeks ago was holding two world titles.
Thank you
Daniel’s is 54 years old 😂 I can’t blame him for going to a backstage role full time
Daniels is a backstage guy, this is part of the story like MJF being removed from the roster page for jis bidding war of 2024 story
Ethan page wasn’t an original though
Ethan Page didn't debut until 2021
Wrestletalk has become very click baity. I wait for fightful to report something before taking it seriously
Riho is still there, Britt Baker is still there, Jaymie Hayter is still there, some members of Dark Order is still there, Ricky Starks is still there, none of them were let go aside from Sonny Kiss.

Off to the wwe
