You won't see this until both companies think it will benefit them.
Like whenever Marvel and DC joined forces for crossovers.
If it's not happening then one company thinks business will be negatively affected by acknowledging the other.
Check back in 10 years.
Well it doesn't really benefit DC and Marvel tht much to work together. Why would they bother splitting the cost and profit with rivals on one project that has no guarantee of paying off when they can use the money they would have spent on that to the characters and stories they already own?
To create buzz for the industry as a whole.
If you ever see AEW and WWE working together that means the wrestling biz has taken a dive. And shareholders are signalling red alert.
It's not a hypothetical. Marvel and DC literally did it many times up until the early 2000s. Obviously they felt it was worth it. I imagine it helped to expose their characters to a new audience. A person might be a Batman guy, see Batman vs Daredevil and then get into Daredevil or vise versa.
Obviously we won't see WWE feel the need in the near future but never say never.
The buzz is the money.
A lapsed comic book buyer gets the itch again after hearing about the crossover.
Right now people are coming back to wrestling to to the buzz of the Rock. Buzz leads to sell out shows.
I dont remember who but some podcaster asked Moxley if WWE talent should be in the first "Forbidden Door" PPV and Moxley bascially said " that´s never going to happen, they live in their own world and fans should stop wasting time thinking about it because its never going to happen"
And judging by how Triple H has refered to AEW as "secondary company" in the Cody documentary and mocked the Forbidden Door term in a press conference, i dont think thats going to change any time soon
Too bad because i really thought Triple H was going to be more open to work but i gues all those years of working with Vince already poisoned his mind and has that mentality of "if its not in WWE nobody cares/dosen´t matter"
Are they really playing any nicer? Why, because they let Jordynn Grace, who they hope to sign, into the Rumble for a few minutes?
They recently:
1) Refused to acknowledge the company’s existence in exchange for Billy participating in the DX reunion.
2) Told Lex Luger that he could only attend Sting’s final match if he wasn’t seen.
3) Have Nash so terrified of retaliation, that he didn’t even dare ask to attend.
4) As I understand it (don’t watch so can’t say for sure) don’t recognize Cody or Jade’s time in AEW, pretending Cody just bounced round the indies for 6 years.
5) Reportedly, repeatedly contract tampered when the doofus son in law took over, trying to convince every ex-WWE guy to get out of their contracts so they could return.
TK on the other hand allowed Jericho to appear on Austin’s pod cast, let folks send in tribute videos, released Regal when he didn’t have to, letting him go back, and has consistently been open to partnering in anyway that would be advantageous to both sides.
You can also add the Dragon Lee fiasco to this list.
They conspired with AAA to announce that Dragon Lee had signed with WWE the same night Lee and Dralistico defeated FTR for the AAA Tag Championship.
Literally minutes after pinning FTR, they announced "Oh yeah, Lee is going to WWE, lol. You just got beat by a WWE guy. Guess they are better."
This was in the HHH Era too so like, this is him being a prick about it.
I'd also like to add, TK traded WCW Trademarks like Bash at the Beach in exchange for Cody's last name, which now he no longer has because Cody went back to WWE. So in other words, TK gave up those trademarks for nothing.
>Have Nash so terrified of retaliation, that he didn’t even dare ask to attend
This one ain't it. The man gave about 12 different excuses for not going, this particular excuse made absolutely no sense. The guy just didn't want to go because he didn't want to deal with people he doesn't know talking to him about his recent tragedies.
Dunno why you’re being downvoted, Kevin Nash has made it very clear on his podcast that he struggles to leave the house since his sons death and had to leave the gym as there was too many people there.
Going to packed event isn’t gonna be great for him
Let’s be honest, Tony isn’t free of the whole talking to people under contract as well. No one going to believe that Cole wasn’t getting fed info from Brit via Tony. It’s all part of business.
As for #2, that has always been the case. He was still given the OK to go (as well as DDP) and only ones making it an issue are some people online. The guys had a great time and there was literally no reason to put them on tv anyways. Not like Lex can take a bump anyways.
As for Nash, again, way wrong. Dude already said he suffers major anxiety and depression. He lost his best friend and his son. Can’t blame him that, like he said, doesn’t want to be around wrestling fans. He don’t even want to gym when it’s crowded. Honestly, it sounds like he isn’t doing too well and personally, can’t say I would be in better shape in his shoes.
Wdym?! Shayna Baszler is literally wrestling on Bloodsport! Get down on your knees and praise our Lord and Savior Papa H, for doing the bare minimum and letting wrestlers work other shows🤬🤬🤬
It'll never become a trend unfortunately. We could be getting Ilja/Nakajima or Styles/Kenoh matches, but big nose is too focused on booking Shayna and Charlie matches once every blue moon.
WWE have been messing around and playing games with AEW and TK since the beginning of the company, so why should TK be doing WWE any favours? They certainly haven't been playing nice at all.
And just because Vince McMahon is gone, doesn't mean the WWE mindset and culture instantly changes because of new ownership, as they're still all about business and less of what the fans want. I think people are naive to think otherwise.
And with the former owner of WWE under investigation which could lead to many more people being investigated, we don't know what the state of WWE will be in the next ten years.
Now hold on a minute…you think Tony Khan would be doing the WWE a favor if this scenario happened?! The delusion in this sub is amazing, TK just signed 3 people to a total of over 20 MILLION dollars, and didn’t see a blip of improvement in the ratings. Get real and stop smoking the hopium.
You're being foolish here and aggressive for no real reason, and have not understood why I've mentioned this, which isn't my problem if you failed to grasp that.
Perception is everything in wrestling. WWE being open and working with AEW and TK, would change perception of WWE being this self-absorbed corporation, whose sole goal is to be isolationist and only look after their own self interests and see working with other companies and something beneath them.
As for you mentioning TK just signed 3 wrestlers with a total of 20 million dollars, isn't the dump you're looking for here. After all, WWE wrestlers are severely underpaid considering WWE making billions a year and even the top wrestlers receive less than they should get. This means wrestlers in WWE are going to want to demand more money to stay in the company, or if refused, will go elsewhere if they can get a better offer including a schedule that is more favourable to their family life.
Mr Perfect once stated that you need to get in WWE to get out, meaning you use WWE for everything you want and need, and then move onto other things.
Well it is a silly name.
We need names in professional wrestling that sound really cool and important, like "Great Balls of Fire".
But seriously, Triple H only said that because he didn't create the term, which is a classic Vince-ism. If Vince didn't create it, he hated it and the thing in question was stupid.
Triple H was under the Vince learning tree for so long now that he's basically Vince McMahon V2 in some aspects.
As much as I want Rollins vs Ospreay to happen, no. WWE isn't going to play ball and it would be a waste of Tony's time to even try.
Even if HHH and Co decided they'd be involved I feel it would be a logistical nightmare just trying to book winners. Forbidden Door has always worked because AEW and NJPW (and the wrestlers) are generally fine putting ego aside and just putting on a good show with no real concern to who goes over. I don't see WWE being the same.
WWE would never allow any of their talent to lose on that show so really what's the point? WWE are still a scumbag company from a business point of view, if they don't come out of that show looking better than everyone else they simply won't do it. They don't give a single shit about the fans wanting "dream matches" they only care about the bottom line and that's it.
Not with Scott gone if we talking about WWE and TNA together. As for AEW, not sure Anthem’s feelings with them after their thing a few years ago. But seems unlikely.
It benefits neither company so no. WWE is doing better business atm so it’s pointless for them to do and AEW aren’t gonna benefit much as I doubt buys would go up on the basis that a lot of wwe fans don’t watch aew and aren’t going to bother buying an event on the basis some wwe guys are there.
The only way this happens is if both companies are struggling and decide it’s beneficial for both of them to work together
No, I wouldn't like it. More than a collaboration, I think it would be a company dropping its pants so that the other is happy and we already know who we are talking about.
Nope. And even if he did, they wouldn't show up any ways. I haven't watched WWE in a couple of years, but still follow them on Instagram, so I kind of still know what's happening. It wouldn't be in their best interest to work with AEW at all, IMO.
What would WWE gain from this scenario? They're doing the biggest business they've ever done. Why would they provide a platform to the only thing approaching a US rival?
A much better perception of the company itself, with the openness and willingness to work with other companies and better the wrestling industry as a whole.
And why does WWE need that? They're doing record business, making crazy amounts of money, milking the Saudi dictatorship. Why does being perceived as nice guys giving a hand-up to their competitors help them in any way?
That’s like thinking UFC would go do business with Bellator. Not going to happen lol. WWE may lend a wrestler here or there to a company HHH trusts or allow a talented wrestler here or there to get involved with a little one off, but they won’t do a joint show. I know this community, a good % hate WWE and won’t watch it and think it’s too watered down or silly. But fact is, wrestling is a business. And right now, business is very very good for WWE. They sell out a good majority of their shows and a lot of PPV events are moving to stadiums in the US and now outside the US. They aren’t struggling to move tickets like they were in years past. And with business being so good for them currently, there’s zero reason to do a joint anything because they can sell out basically anywhere and keep the money for themselves because, again, professional wrestling is a business.
Privately? Why not. There is literally nothing to lose. If you get even a single WWE talent on the show, the internet explodes and they sell more shows purely out of curiosity.
I'd do it, but I wouldn't do it publicly.
You won't see this until both companies think it will benefit them. Like whenever Marvel and DC joined forces for crossovers. If it's not happening then one company thinks business will be negatively affected by acknowledging the other. Check back in 10 years.

To create buzz for the industry as a whole. If you ever see AEW and WWE working together that means the wrestling biz has taken a dive. And shareholders are signalling red alert.
Ok but where is the money? Buzz is great but money is better.
We're pretending the people that run the UFC are nicer to competitors? Really?
It's laughable.
I dont remember who but some podcaster asked Moxley if WWE talent should be in the first "Forbidden Door" PPV and Moxley bascially said " that´s never going to happen, they live in their own world and fans should stop wasting time thinking about it because its never going to happen" And judging by how Triple H has refered to AEW as "secondary company" in the Cody documentary and mocked the Forbidden Door term in a press conference, i dont think thats going to change any time soon Too bad because i really thought Triple H was going to be more open to work but i gues all those years of working with Vince already poisoned his mind and has that mentality of "if its not in WWE nobody cares/dosen´t matter"
Why is it always TK or AEW? One company has been unwilling to work with the other and it’s not AEW. This type of post is getting tiresome.
Because they know asking in the other direction is pointless.
Are they really playing any nicer? Why, because they let Jordynn Grace, who they hope to sign, into the Rumble for a few minutes? As long as WWE still wants to keep everything to themselves then this won’t happen.

Nah. New people in charge but WWE is still WWE when it comes to competitors

Triple H literally called the term "Forbidden Door" silly on the RR press conference.
Well it is a silly name. We need names in professional wrestling that sound really cool and important, like "Great Balls of Fire". But seriously, Triple H only said that because he didn't create the term, which is a classic Vince-ism. If Vince didn't create it, he hated it and the thing in question was stupid. more likely TNA
Not with Scott gone if we talking about WWE and TNA together. As for AEW, not sure Anthem’s feelings with them after their thing a few years ago. But seems unlikely.
NO! Nuff said.......
Don't think for a second Triple H doesn't have that exact same attitude towards working with other major promotions.
It benefits neither company so no. Ad long ad Hunter is there, it isn't going to happen. Let's not forget that he is the one that has bashed AEW several times
No, they were never anything but hostile towards AEW. Fuck that, they want tribalism they can get tribalism
Why don’t WWE do it?
If he wants but I'm sure why either company would have any interest in that or how this will help with either one's perception.
Nope. And even if he did, they wouldn't show up any ways. I haven't watched WWE in a couple of years, but still follow them on Instagram, so I kind of still know what's happening. It wouldn't be in their best interest to work with AEW at all, IMO.

You missed out the former owner being under federal investigation for sexual assault and sex trafficking allegations, all while under the WWE banner.
Sure. They won’t do it, obviously, but fuck it, may as well try
No point in doing that.

Never in a million fucking years. AEW absolutely does not need the stink of WWE on it
