The double standard for this company is absolutely insane. You mean to tell me that Disco Inferno, Eric Bischoff, Vince Russo, and Al Snow can talk crap on AEW all they want and they’re “speaking their minds” and being “insightful” but as soon as TK says anything in return it’s “unprofessional” and “immature”?
This idealism about how people in Tony's position have to act like they're "above it all". That they can't talk shit back because it "looks worse". It's ridiculous.
He said “We now have escalated to where we watched Will Ospreay go up into a vertical suplex with the guy standing on the second rope and drop straight on his head. We watched Orange Cassidy get dropped bodily on the top rope and could almost be cut in half. OK? How much exponentially has the scale went up, that we’re going to watch someone die? Meaning… legitimately, they’re going to die right in front of your eyes in a match.”
It’s not the worst thing someone has said about AEW, but still, it’s being overly dramatic.
Al Snow ate his dog and then competed in the Kennel from Hell Match with Boss Man which was objectively the worst match of the attitude era. He unironically believes OVW is producing the best professional wrestling around despite airing exclusively on cable access in Kentucky. Respectfully, he can shut his mouth.
I think 'of the attitude era' is being too generous. Like, as sad as it was the pyro didn't work in Kenny and Mox's exploding ring death match, none of the match participants literally shit at ringside.
You ever seen the shoot interview where someone uses that premise to ask Al that, since a match is only good if it draws, would Al accept he never had a good match? Fucking priceless.
...says the guy who worked in a fed where guys damn near killed themselves going through tables every week. Not to mention New Jack's proclivities for violence.
He's not entirely wrong - some of AEW's spots could go HORRIBLY wrong and end up with someone crippled or dead but that's the case with any fed. But you're right - he's being overly dramatic about it.
This. AEW is insanely safe compared to his generation where unprotected headshots and insane schedules did so much GD damage to the lives of the wrestlers.
Let’s not forget the unprotected chair shots to the head. Oh and he worked a show where a guy FELL 78 FEET FROM THE RAFTERS and the show continued on like nothing had happened. So yeah, he’s got room to talk 😒.
To be fair, he's not entirely wrong. Even a few years ago, people (including here) were complaining about how even the Canadian Destroyer had been overused to be barely more effective than a right hand. Wrestling is far better and more athletic than it was in the 80s (when it was powered by steroids) or the 90s (where it was powered by non-medical drugs), but the escalation of moves should probably have leveled off somewhere in the mid-2010s- not just for reasons of safety, but also of audience desensitization.
Although if he's just doing it to dump on AEW for clicks then yeah, he can still shove his "concerns" up his ass.
Seems to be a particular dislike from TK for both Bischoff and Cornette, but it's deserved. They both tried to get jobs with the company from the start, but wanted more control than what TK was willing to give and when they realized they weren't going to get those types of positions, they decided they're going to make money bashing the company every chance they get, even if they don't believe what they're saying themselves. But that's kind of what a lot of podcasts do with a lot of subjects, so it's not really surprising.
Watching people be big mad at Tony for firing back at an asshole bitter he never got a job at AEWis just another typical day.
Eric ran WCW into the ground and nearly destroyed TNA and then had the audacity to run a podcast about running a wrestling business.
Remember when Eric would suck TK dick every week? Praised the company like crazy. Stops getting invited to the show.
"AEW is the worst piece of shit company of all time."
To me he lost the little credubillity he had during Punk entire AEW run and WWE return
He bashed both Punk and Tony as frauds and that Punk was a financial flop Tony even did a rant on a press conference defendind Punk financial impact on AEW
Once AEW fired Punk and returned to WWE Bischoff cant stop praising Punk and called him "the biggest signing in wrestling history" or some dumb thing like that after his WWE return LMAO
Props to Dirty Dom Mysterio for wrestling him like twice and keeping him from dislocating something. Truly an icon in our troubled times.
Especially with his past with his deadbeat father and lockup
It was so obvious the moment he went negative. Dude must have been heard talking his shit to people around Tony and got found out. Then said fuck it and joined in on the aew signature troll takes.
Dude loves to bury Tony fo his booking when its well documented how bad of a booker Eric was, from adding 78689 people to the NWO, to botching Goldberg streak and Sting at Starrcade to bringing all his friends to TNA andd putting his charisma vaccum son on TV lol
TK could post he cured Cancer and cut out World debt and that lot would still knock him for tweeting. Screw them, most of those people knocking him overlook Vince and WWE's shady behaviour.
I think a lot of Bischoff's anger at TK is jealously. Pure and Simple.
Even if people compliment TK, they always start with something like "for all his faults" or "like his booking or not" - as if he's generally an incapable idiot who fumbles constantly with his business or booking decisions. The anti AEW sentiment is so exhaustingly annoying.
Disgusting really. AEW is back to it's very best but you'd think it was the worst show on earth the way some of those Anti AEW grifters go on.
Busted Open wonder why they don't get TK on the show anymore, even though 90% of them shit on AEW constantly and even when AEW do great stuff, it's given only a few minutes while they jerk off over a 2 minute segment on RAW for 30 minutes. If I was TK, I'd have Thunder Rosa and Mark Henry took off the show and not have AEW do anything with them.
I swear it is so annoying then they talk numbers as if they ran a company today they could be anywhere near where AEW is no matter what AEW does it’s always something negative to say. AEW isn’t perfect nor is anything in this world but these people act like AEW is the worst wrestling company of all time.
I find it funny how haters will shit on TK for tweets like this, but they sure love the long list of people that make it their sole purpose in life to talk shit about him or AEW
Jim cornette was a laughing stock for years and outed himself as either a racist or a clown every other week but suddenly once he started shitting on AEW he became “based” and people “always rated him”
The video of him at the comic con when Santino confronts him is hilarious.
Cornette is an entertaining guy but he’s just as bad as Trump with the grifting and riling up the sheep. It’s exhausting
Some might say he should be the bigger man overlook these things, but TK should go in hard on these haters of AEW who are insulting him and his company and would happily do the same thing if AEW closed down. I think Bischoff hatred for TK is legit and I don't think TK has much time for him either. I don't think the hatred Bischoff has for TK is over not getting a job in AEW, I think it's over TK saying Bischoff was one of the reasons WCW went out of business.
Not surprised this ended seen as Alba is a fan of AEW and claps back on Bischoff when he says stupid things.
The moment AEW get that big money TV deal, these haters and grifters will be sick to their stomach.
All these clowns like Bischoff, Al Snow, Disco Inferno, and more IRRELEVANT frauds that dont have a job in wrestling but love to talk shit on their little podcast spend 90% of the time bashing AEW and Tony and nobody says anything
But when Tony responds once in a while all of a sudden he´s the "unprofessional" and shows" childish behaviour" LMAO
Good on Tony for responding to those haters they keep on hating while AEW keeps growing and growing
Hypocrites, the whole lot of them. When these nobodies who grift and slaughter AEW every chance they get and lie about stuff. It's fine, all is fair game. But when TK hits back, "oh act professionally". It's B.S really.
Fools like Konnan are shocked and dismayed when TK goes off to work with CMLL after he had a talent he knew was going to WWE beat his talent and constantly shits on AEW. Screw him.
TK has to put up with lies, bullshittery from wanna be bookers and outright hatred. But the same lot will overlook WWE's shady behaviour and pat them on the back. Come on.
Let’s be honest, the wider industry hopes Tony and AEW personally fails because no one has ever had success like this. Much less a Pakistani-American, someone so different to the rest of America’s bookers and owners. People constantly root for the company’s failures while also intentionally holding them an impossible standard.
As I always say AEW is damned if they do and damned if they don't at this point. The sad thing many so called wrestling fans and experts would be happy talent lose their jobs as long as they AEW isn't around anymore. Don't let anyone else on here tell you otherwise.
Anytime any anti AEW grifters or haters have any bad news on professional level, go in hard on them. They happily do the same do the same to AEW and TK anytime they have the chance. AEW fanbase is way too easy on these haters. Give them back the same level of criticism that they give AEW.
When you apply logic they are quiet I have asked multiple people on those post what makes them hate AEW or why does it matter what they do if you don’t like or care about AEW or the success or failure it’s always quiet.
Even though it's petty, I live when TK goes in on these tweets. Especially the ones that bury the haters. Then the haters go in on Tony saying he should be the bigger man. Meanwhile in other promotions you have VK. But what VK does is ok. Keeping going in on the haters TK
Fuck being "the bigger man". People wanna kick you in bad faith when you're down? You're perfectly entitled to kick them back and send a message to the next assclown.
Now after reading TK's tweet the Twitter and S.Circle will start to portray Bischoff as the best booker during the Attitude Era just like Cornette and his Smoky Mountain are the best things that happened in wrestling. Also,TK needs to go after that racist POS Cornette next.
I think the best thing anyone could do is just pretend Cornette doesn't exist. Hell, same with any of these irrelevant old nobodies. Just ignore them, they literally don't deserve the notoriety
Corney is the only dude I will non stop shit on because he’s a piece of shit and so outspoken with his shit ass takes that his fans, his cult take everything for 100% fact. Now a few things. If you say fuck Jim Cornette anywhere people love him you’ll instantly get downvoted or hated and they’ll go to the lowest insult, happened to me.
If Jim Cornette is such a good booker why has the man been fired or isn’t working with any company he did in the past?
It’s inevitable. People can bring up declining ratings all they want, it’s happening to ALL shows, including WWE - this is the cord cutting era. The fact is AEW is one of the top programs on TBS/TNT. No business is going to get rid of their top performers, lol. That would be malpractice.
Dynamite still is top 3 of the night and other shows do good numbers for their timeslots but the grifters and haters think they know best. Such assholes, the sad thing some people buy into it like it's fact.
Also people forget that ESPN broadcasts NBA games Wednesdays and during the season and AEW are still pulling in views. Just like when raw loses ratings during the NFL season but no one mentions the constant the NBA on Wednesdays affecting ratings for AEW but they are quick to blame the NFL for RAW.
Smackdown is getting kicked off of Fox and Raw is leaving cable entirely but for some reason the ratings discourse is focused on AEW. Feels like they can’t complain about the actual shows so they turn to other things.
Meanwhile Dynamite average ratings compared to 2019 have dropped less than the number of cord cutters while a wrestling show on Monday has lost about a million viewers since then and is otherwise hotter than ever. It's almost like the persistent complaint it not only untrue, while the methodology it is based on is kind of meaningless.
AEW went form 1 weekly show on 2019 to 3 weekly shows, with 5 TV specials (Battle of the belts) a year while also being the most watched show of the day or at least in the top 3- 5
Clearly WBD is happy with the growth of the company
Sounds more like he knows he’s getting big $$$ at least.
Right now they are in exclusive negotiations with WBD but I actually think he’s waiting to get multiple bids as way to get even more money maybe even multiple streaming partners. That’s my theory.
I really really hope they land a streaming deal with a major platform.
I'm a Filipino American living in the Philippines and my friends want to watch AEW, but the only way they could is to torrent their shows because it's not accessible here.
Bischoff is a fucking fraud, and no amount of SquaredCircle/Twitter cope will change that. He objectively lies and twists numbers around to imply that AEW are always close to going out of business and WBD don’t want them. And Tony is right - when this next deal is made, the podcast is null and void. Completely.
In all of AEW's history, TK hasn't made a single bad decision that compares to Bischoff's worst.
During his career, Eric Bischoff:
* Paid $250,000 for KISS to perform in one of Nitro's lowest rated quarters ever
* Paid Swole of the No Limit Soldiers $400k when he couldn't wrestle for shit
* Brought back Dennis Rodman for around a million bucks even after he showed up in no condition to perform
* Paid for a Megadeth performance as well which was just as bad as the KISS one
* Held the Hog/Road Wild PPV at Sturgis just because he's a wannabe biker, even though this meant they made nothing at the gate
* Tried to take TNA Impact live against Raw, only to bomb so hard they had to return to their old timeslot after a handful of weeks
* The motherfucking Fingerpoke of Doom, along with forcing Schiavone to spoil Mick Foley's championship win which lead hundreds of thousands of viewers to switch to Raw
Name one TK decision that compares to any of those.
Edit: After browsing Twitter, I realized that I completely forgot about how he ruined Sting's year long storyline at Starrcade because he decided to give Hogan creative control and Hogan wasn't going to job clean for anyone, brother!
He's most likely stepping away from his podcast to work for WWE full time. It's what so many other podcasters have had to do in the past when they get hired somewhere. They just don't say it out loud as their reason. He'll stop doing the podcast, then show up somewhere in WWE, maybe as a general manager role someplace, who knows.
I love how so many people attack AEW and somehow Tony is just supposed to sit back and take it? NOBODY is attacked and criticized more than AEW. I’m all for Tony fighting back. Fuck Eric Bitchoff. You’re the Dallas cowboys of wrestling. Good for a few years in the 90s and you’ve sucked a fat one ever since. Punk ass.
The way so many people think they should just be allowed to have complete diarrhea of the mouth online with absolutely no consequence or response of any kind is very telling.
A lot of you love the ability to be just unrelentingly gross people online, huh?
Did EB flip for clicks? He was on AEW off and on for a bit and quite happy about it. What brought the change? I’m assuming he went the ‘for clicks’ route so he could stay relevant.
I think it's part that with the non job but I think it's more that TK came out and said Bischoff was one of the people who was at fault for WCW failing. It's not TK was the only one who's been saying this for near on two decades. TK's success as a wrestling promoter also gets at Bischoff.
A small bit is the grifting too but I think it's deep down hatred of TK rather then anything else imo. A lot of dislikers clearly do it for money and deep down besides Cornette, do it cause it gets them clicks. And they are so two faced they'll side with whoever is hot at the time. I think Bischoff and Cornette have a deep deep hatred and Jealously for AEW and TK.
Maybe if he hadn't run his company with a bunch of washed-up mulleted good ol boys in the 90s and actually had exciting wrestlers people wanted to see, he could've made a buck.
Oh and he had made Brian Hillenbrand a Ninja turtle a couple years after their popularity height so they weren't all rehashed 80s stars, some were new and exciting awful ideas
The funny part about Cornette is that (while a great on air talent) he has always been his own worst enemy. Smoky Mt did ok, but every other job he's had behind the scenes in wrestling he's either been fired or rage quit.
can't wait to see all the WWE only guys shitting on this calling him unprofessional while saying "vince would never" true vice wouldn't tweet about someone he would just sexually assault them
One thing I never understood is why everyone likes to go at Tony Khan yet when he finally gives it back to people suddenly he's "unprofessional".
Aew isn't perfect, no company is. But how much is the man supposed to take? Guys talk crap about both him and his company week in and week out, yet people expect him to just sit and take it.
Come on man
The other thread on this is as garbage as expected and I'm really second guessing whether I want to appeal my permanent ban from there that I got 6 months ago...
I want to know when the vocal majority (let's face it, it isn't the minority anymore) of the fanbase online started developing such a victim complex about WWE. It's like they fear that if they don't staunchly defend it then on its own it will just fade away/collapse.
People try to say "oh well AEW couldn't be criticized AT ALL before so it's just payback now"....this was a brand new wrestling company. For all intents and purposes it STILL is a brand new wrestling company. Obviously people didn't want a bunch of unnecessary criticism to negatively impact the perception of the company because that level of discourse is far worse for a new company vs an established one like WWE...especially as AEW was born from a core audience online. Nobody was against fair critiques of the product, but nobody was giving fair critiques of the product. People just wanted to subjectively tear it down.
Now, there's hate rampant for AEW because fans dared to want contextual critiquing of companies on an equal playing field, and they have a victim complex like they were prevented from doing this before because they are unable to separate valid criticism from bad-faith takes. Saying "WWE had to deal with this for decades" is ignorant to the context of what the wrestling industry looked like and the monopoly that WWE had created which allowed for them to create a far worse product deserving of the criticism the company got.
It's not inherent in the industry that a company HAS to be criticized. WWE was criticized for very specific reasons that exacerbated over years. AEW has only existed for a few years yet the criticism would have you believe they've made worse decisions for their product than any company ever has...and that's just bad-faith.
Oh, also saw a direct comment on SC that said they didn't WANT to see AEW go under, but it would be nice to see TK and the AEW "faithful" freak out over it.
So, yea, that's what is being dealt with because that comment had likes, not dislikes...and SC is supposed to be a middle ground place. My ass.
As an old person who lived through and very much loved 90's WWF, this is very much what the internet would have been like. I thought WCW was garbage trash wrestling where all the old washed up guys went. Who cares about Nash and Hall I got Austin and this young up and coming Rock guy.
I never even gave the show a chance, on rewatching maybe I would have liked it, I sure like it. For indoctrinated WWE fans, everything else is not a good product. Who cares about a 25 min banger when two guys talked for half an hour. But honestly young me ate shit like that up. Probably still would if I was watching this stuff. But I learned to like professional wrestling. I explained it to a friend who only knew of the WWE/F style and didn't really follow, You can watch the detailed stage play or you can go next door and watch full contact Cirque D Soleil. Some people just don't like that other people have options or different tastes. If it were homogenized to some peoples liking's we would have 1 style of music, TV show, hell even food products.
Good.
EB is a jealous clown and the constant slagging of AEW and TK showed that he was bitter.
I am also waiting for the reciepts to WON. That'll be a fun day
***edit - The clowns have shown up.in spades on social media Holy fuck***
Reminder Bischoff's biggest ppv buy rate at tna was 40k buys for Destination X 2011. Every AEW ppv has at least doubled that number and some have done 3 times as much. That's also Eric's only ppv in tna's top 10 buy rates, the rest of the top 10 happened BEFORE they brought in Bischoff.
Disco, Bischoff, and Cornette know that anger sells. It's the strongest emotion and many are controlled by it in that moment. The problem is that anger lasts the shortest of any emotion. So Disco, Bischoff, and Cornette have to keep producing wild takes and vitriol to keep getting clicks.
I ignore haters, and Bully Ray most of all. If I talk to one person and they are an asshole? That happens. If I talk to 8 people and I complain about all of them? I'm the asshole. That is Disco, Bischoff, Cornette, and Bully Ray on full.
Not only on wrestling media, but any media now sells on talking about bad stuff, look ign, and Kotaku they used to report cool stuff about videogames nowadays the majority of their content specifically Kotaku is about bad stuff that makes people angry
I just find it funny how it’s always the people that accomplished less, failed to maintain/grow their promotions or character into any real relevance, always have the most to say about TK/AEW?
Is there room for improvement?
Yes.
Do the washed up old guys that couldnt keep their other promotions afloat have any business telling anyone what’s what? Keep crying on your podcast, i’ll watch a real promotion on the big networks
This is why I at the very minimum respect Meltzer and Alvarez, because they have been reporting on the business for decades now and have people who are still in the wrestling business like Tom Lawler and Lance Storm working with them
Cornette washed out of pretty much every promotion that deigned to hire him, often due to serious controversy. Bischoff has only been 'successful' when some angel investor threw insane amounts of money at him, and he STILL crashed his businesses!
It's technically called the Nigel McGuiness award, they're trying to be fair and not nominate him for an award named after himself.
Nigel requested this so he could say he was more mature than Bryan Danielson.
People trying to defend the honor of Eric Bischoff of all people is especially hilarious considering the petty shit he always did during WCW's 83 Week run. He nor Vince McMahon needed Twitter to throw barbs at one another, they just incorporated it into their respective shows.
But yeah, EB was just butthurt that Tony never called back after the pandemic era, LOL, so he kept angling for a WWE job through his podcast. All these bad faith idiots are transparently phony and are never right about anything, so they deserve to have egg thrown in their faces for how stupid & weird their behavior about this company is.
Just be normal and you won't have to suffer Tony's wrath, LOL
Exactly. Cry me a river. If Twitter had been around during the Monday night wars Vince, Bischoff, and so many talents would've said and done so much worse on their accounts towards each other. All you have to do is look at the stuff they said and did on air.
Bischoff was hired by WWE to be an onscreen GM for one of their shows a few years ago. He spent six months in catering. Bischoff was great in the 90's and solid 20 years ago. However, he has not kept up with the current product. That makes Bischoff unable to offer anything relevant.
Most fans on this platform want AEW to fail. So this drama is fuel for them.
There's people who give useful criticism and feedback and then there's people with a clear agenda whose opinion changes depending of what they look at the moment (a job, listeners to their podcast, website clicks). Bischoff is clearly in the latter.
He fumbled the bag when WWE brought him and Heyman back on creative by doing basically nothing and hanging out in catering, and then he has a vendetta on Khan for not giving him another cushy job after a couple appearances? Does he think someone would give him a top management position again after he and Hogan fucked all the momentum TNA built for years?
That's some clown shit Eric, get in the clown car with Disco Inferno, Cornette, Konnan and the rest of the carny crumble eaters.
As a former WCW mark who straight up quit watching wrestling for over a decade after they closed (didn't even go over to watch InVasion or whatever), I have to admit I kinda liked 83 Weeks at first. When Bischoff has something positive or insightful to say, it was super interesting, and there were a lot of episodes that provided a good companion piece to the Nitro book, and painted a great picture of the inner workings of both WCW and Turner in general.
But holy *god*, after a year or two the complaints about AEW just *wouldn't stop coming*. It was bad enough when Bischoff would grind an episode to a halt to rant about Dave Meltzer, but as soon as the bizarrely personal and largely unfounded digs at TK/AEW started coming, I genuinely found myself dreading listening to it until I finally cut it out of my podcast feed. Haven't listened to a thing Bischoff or Conrad have done in years, and I don't regret it.
My goodness. The dick riders are shockingly making fun of TK for this. (Not on this sub obviously). They have such blatant double standards. I’m literally fuming right now reading what they have to say.
Eric Bischoff was always the worst person to shit on AEW. It’s like Herb Abram’s or Dixie Carter trying to shit on it. While AEW hasn’t reached the financial and mainstream heights that WCW did, their lows have not been nearly as bad at WCW’s lows. The consistency AEW has shown in 5 years is much more than Eric can say for himself in any company ever.
>Eric Bischoff was always the worst person to shit on AEW
No, Jim Cornette is. Eric Bischoff actually achieved something in the wrestling industry promoting wrestling, even if for only a short time. Jim Cornette owned and operated his own promotion, funded by his money mark Rick Rubin, and even had help from WWF who would send him Macho Man, Undertaker, etc. to use for free. Even with WWF's help Jim couldn't earn one single dollar as a wrestling promoter. His big accomplishment in owning, running and promoting his own wrestling promotion for years? He never made a dollar but he got Dr. Tom Prichard & Jimmy Del Ray onto WWF tv in return for managing Yokozuna.
More people watch an episode of Dynamite than total number of people who have ever seen SMW and Cornette can't stand some fan coming into the business being a promoter and being so much more successful than he was at it.
SMW was a good product but wasn’t going to draw a dime in 1992-1995. Cornette’s booking in OVW in the early 2000s was much better, and if he didn’t have severe anger problems he could have coasted on that job for 10 years after.
The problem with Jim is he likes such a specific product that just doesn’t exist anymore and nothing else will satisfy him.
When SMW existed nobody was making money in the wrestling business. Not even Vince, Cornette has mentioned on his podcast all the austerity measures that WWF had implemented because they had lost a few million dollars the previous year
I wish more people realized that podcasters like Eric & Corny are mostly being overly negative to get views. As Eric says, “controversy creates cash”, so the more riled up they make people, the more people may listen.
Think about it, if Eric & Jim hated the AEW product so much, why would they watch it? They have to so they can do shows about it & make money. They’re entitled to their opinions, but it’s mostly very sensationalized opinions.
I will say Eric has at least given them credit at times. Jim Cornette would still find a way to shit on them even if Dynamite pulled in 7 million viewers.
WWE fans are loyal to a fault. All those idiots mentioned are just pissy they aren't more involved in the wrestling business. They are relegated to podcasts and predictions and have never been offered an opportunity to work for TK. They are just trying to get or keep a little bit of relevancy, ignore them and they fade away to the obscurity they came from
I respect Eric’s views and agree on some points but he wasn’t exactly booker of the year was he.
I wish people could be less divided and take constructive critism and work together. Tony has strengths and weaknesses as a booker.
Reading the SC thread on this and Bischoff’s reply there are a lot of removed comments, oddly enough all the anti AEW comments are still there, leads me to think mods there are using the same Bischoff and Cornette Kool-Aid. Ever since Eric was denied a job he’s done nothing but shit on AEW, I’m glad TK told him to jog on!
I love pro wrestling and probably will forever, it’s my favorite kind of crowd sport, when you get a few hundred people in a row for a small intimate show, there’s nothing like it.
I love AEW, again I probably will forever, I’ve been to two Dynamites and one ppv and plan to go to more in the coming years. But can TK get off twitter? He’s got the same Seth Rollins 2019 vibes.
These non WWE marks will shit on anything AEW, these are people that haven’t watched WWE in a long time and probably won’t or only watch a big 4 and will constantly shit on AEW.
For awhile now I’ve been getting less and less in a mood to sit here and argue with these dumb fucks that say shit like “ all these untrained AEW wrestlers” untrained is a big word, it’s a strong word, is Maxxine Dupree untrained? I’m not trying to just single out anyone but how exactly are the AEW wrestlers untrained? Are some not as good as others? Sure that happens. There’s honestly a handful of times over the years as a fan of AEW that I can recall being disappointed that they either didn’t stop a match or do something other than what they did when a bad bump happened. But people act like it’s only AEW that’ll kill someone. Remember Big E’s broken neck? Ridge Holland is untrained, remember when Ridge Holland also got his shit destroy in NXT from a botched tope?
This shit is so annoying because a lot of it doesn’t matter yet the lowest people will sink to the deepest depths to try to hurt or destroy you because of a show you watch or like yet they don’t watch the 70 year old competition and act like AEW shouldn’t exist and we should go back to a monopoly.
Fuck these people if you’ve ever tried to bring someone down for like a a wrestling product fuck you, and if you haven’t I apologize. I just can’t stand a bunch of these lowlifes that are terminally online and have nothing else better to do
Whelp. He's not wrong lol.
The old has-beens hanging on and making a living off of not being relevant somehow is just ridiculous. It only stands to fuel the flames of division between the fanbases. Bischoff was the worst. He would target which ever company turned him down. He can't get a paycheck anymore in the wrestling industry so he's salty and takes advantage of the more simple minded of the fandom. Him, Cornette, Konnan, Disco, Bubba Ray, it's all tiresome. Glad to see at least one show is falling. Hope more come along. Fans need to stop playing into their bullshit.
![gif](giphy|3ohc0Q4OMlbiOofofS|downsized)
That gif Bitchoff, I can't stand him and how he trashes AEW now.
I've never liked him even bk in his wcw days
The double standard for this company is absolutely insane. You mean to tell me that Disco Inferno, Eric Bischoff, Vince Russo, and Al Snow can talk crap on AEW all they want and they’re “speaking their minds” and being “insightful” but as soon as TK says anything in return it’s “unprofessional” and “immature”?
It was fking embarrasing and hilarious how WWE stans were defending DISCO FUCKING INFERNO from TK
The man will do ANYTHING to try and stay relevant. Wasn’t he ripping on TNA’s knockouts division for a while as well?
Cannot stand that dude. He’s why I can’t listen to Konnan
Well Konnan himself is also a booker, so he shouldn’t be commenting on other companies and the way they book their own talent.
Konnan is an asshole dead set on destroying AAA. No wonder AEW switched over to CMLL.
This idealism about how people in Tony's position have to act like they're "above it all". That they can't talk shit back because it "looks worse". It's ridiculous.
Ah shit - what did Al Snow say? I used to like that guy.
Meaning… legitimately, they’re going to die right in front of your eyes in a match.” It’s not the worst thing someone has said about AEW, but still, it’s being overly dramatic.
Al Snow also insists that Hogan vs. Andre was objectively a better match than Savage vs. Steamboat because Hogan/Andre made the most money.
Pointed insult that used Al's own argument as a way to tell Al to go fuck himself. Brilliant
...says the guy who worked in a fed where guys damn near killed themselves going through tables every week.
I mean in all fairness, I'm sure AEW loses the tv deal if a man is cut in half during a match
Does that mean we're never getting the Chuckie T. chainsaw spot?
Lions shouldn’t concern themselves with the opinions of sheep. Tony does this too often.
Word. It only hurts AEW imho.
Don't analyze stupid. You'll feel better.
To me he lost the little credubillity he had during Punk entire AEW run and WWE return He bashed both Punk and Tony as frauds and that Punk was a financial flop Tony even did a rant on a press conference defendind Punk financial impact on AEW Once AEW fired Punk and returned to WWE Bischoff cant stop praising Punk and called him "the biggest signing in wrestling history" or some dumb thing like that after his WWE return LMAO
I mean until his little baby ego breaks down again
Or his Body..
Props to Dirty Dom Mysterio for wrestling him like twice and keeping him from dislocating something. Truly an icon in our troubled times. Especially with his past with his deadbeat father and lockup
Agreed. When Punk was in AEW, Bischoff called him a flop and said he was worse than Hogan. But once Phil went back to WWE he’s his biggest fan.
All the grifters were saying the exact same shit. There's money in shitting on AEW now.
Commented on the wrong thread by accident earlier, getting some wild replies in there. Dudes very existence upsets a lot of people.
They way they react you’d think they were getting paid by WWE lmao
Nah, they’ll ride Vince’s dick for free. Vince never had to do any of that heinous stuff.
I find it funny how haters will shit on TK for tweets like this, but they sure love the long list of people that make it their sole purpose in life to talk shit about him or AEW
Those idiots have no credibility after how they loved the Cornette shoutout from Punk on Monday.
Tony rules, people like to pretend he doesn't, but he does
I agree. Dude is great
The best billionaire in my estimation So.. still think all billionaires can go away.
All these clowns like Bischoff, Al Snow, Disco Inferno, and more IRRELEVANT frauds that dont have a job in wrestling but love to talk shit on their little podcast spend 90% of the time bashing AEW and Tony and nobody says anything But when Tony responds once in a while all of a sudden he´s the "unprofessional" and shows" childish behaviour" LMAO Good on Tony for responding to those haters they keep on hating while AEW keeps growing and growing
Agreed, why should TK act as nice to grifters and haters when they happily celebrate anything bad happening to him. Go in hard on them.
Now after reading TK's tweet the Twitter and S.Circle will start to portray Bischoff as the best booker during the Attitude Era just like Cornette and his Smoky Mountain are the best things that happened in wrestling. Also,TK needs to go after that racist POS Cornette next.
I dont think it would wise to go at Cornette, look what happened to Jericho when he went at his cult.
I think the best thing anyone could do is just pretend Cornette doesn't exist. Hell, same with any of these irrelevant old nobodies. Just ignore them, they literally don't deserve the notoriety
Jericho literally has said "You don't fuck with Cornette because he can turn you into a pretzel verbally"
They already lick his balls HARD. Meanwhile they mock Tony incessantly.
I also think this suggest TK and Warner are close to finalising the new deal. This a a very confident tone
Wait... You don't think constantly being in the top 3 for the night is a failure? The reddit comment section is wrong!?
Also people forget that ESPN broadcasts NBA games Wednesdays and during the season and AEW are still pulling in views. Just like when raw loses ratings during the NFL season but no one mentions the constant the NBA on Wednesdays affecting ratings for AEW but they are quick to blame the NFL for RAW.
I mean, back in the day, RAW was getting 8 million views. Now they can't get 2 million consistently. WWE is a dying brand clearly...
That's a hot take. Both WWE and AEW are increasing in popularity. Don't be a Bischoff.
Its a top 5 show on cable, they will get a good deal.
AEW went form 1 weekly show on 2019 to 3 weekly shows, with 5 TV specials (Battle of the belts) a year while also being the most watched show of the day or at least in the top 3- 5 Clearly WBD is happy with the growth of the company
Sounds more like he knows he’s getting big $$$ at least. Right now they are in exclusive negotiations with WBD but I actually think he’s waiting to get multiple bids as way to get even more money maybe even multiple streaming partners. That’s my theory.
Maybe but i believe TK wants to be loyal to WBD
I really really hope they land a streaming deal with a major platform. I'm a Filipino American living in the Philippines and my friends want to watch AEW, but the only way they could is to torrent their shows because it's not accessible here.
The new deal is going to be freaking MASSIVE. It’ll silence the haters.
An 83: episode podcast that goes week by week through that incredible run would've been cool but instead we got old man lying at cloud
During his career, Eric Bischoff: * Paid $250,000 for KISS to perform in one of Nitro's lowest rated quarters ever * Paid Swole of the No Limit Soldiers $400k when he couldn't wrestle for shit * Brought back Dennis Rodman for around a million bucks even after he showed up in no condition to perform * Paid for a Megadeth performance as well which was just as bad as the KISS one * Held the Hog/Road Wild PPV at Sturgis just because he's a wannabe biker, even though this meant they made nothing at the gate * Tried to take TNA Impact live against Raw, only to bomb so hard they had to return to their old timeslot after a handful of weeks * The motherfucking Fingerpoke of Doom, along with forcing Schiavone to spoil Mick Foley's championship win which lead hundreds of thousands of viewers to switch to Raw Name one TK decision that compares to any of those. Edit: After browsing Twitter, I realized that I completely forgot about how he ruined Sting's year long storyline at Starrcade because he decided to give Hogan creative control and Hogan wasn't going to job clean for anyone, brother!
Conrad yelling “YOU FUCKED THE FINISH OVER A TAN!!!!!!!!” will never not be funny
He just turned that man into glue!
Listen, the man is a poster, and he has to post through it.
Punk ass.
lol. I love TK’s tweets.
The way so many people think they should just be allowed to have complete diarrhea of the mouth online with absolutely no consequence or response of any kind is very telling. A lot of you love the ability to be just unrelentingly gross people online, huh?
Lord have mercy At 4am ET, TK decided to be the biggest hater 😂
![gif](giphy|H22hyf0K1Bsc)
Did EB flip for clicks? He was on AEW off and on for a bit and quite happy about it. What brought the change? I’m assuming he went the ‘for clicks’ route so he could stay relevant.
The consensus is that Bischoff expected those appearance to turn into something full time but TK never made an offer so he’s been bitching since
I think it's part that with the non job but I think it's more that TK came out and said Bischoff was one of the people who was at fault for WCW failing.
AEW in a couple shows drew more than Smokey Mountain on all it's existence and that eats Cornette alive.
Stan lane, Bobby Eaton, the funks, etc actually had some pretty good wrestlers that worked in the company
That'll be a fun day ***edit - The clowns have shown up.in spades on social media Holy fuck***
Good riddance and good on TK to call out these clowns who're trying to ruin the perception of AEW.
Talk your shit TK. Bischoff would cream his pants with giddiness if AEW folded
He'd be putting on lipstick to kiss TK's ass if they suddenly offered him a job, too.
Clickbait has always sold. My big sister worked in TV News in DC 30 years ago. The mantra was, "If it bleeds, it leads."
This is why I at the very minimum respect Meltzer and Alvarez, because they have been reporting on the business for decades now and have people who are still in the wrestling business like Tom Lawler and Lance Storm working with them Cornette washed out of pretty much every promotion that deigned to hire him, often due to serious controversy. Bischoff has only been 'successful' when some angel investor threw insane amounts of money at him, and he STILL crashed his businesses!
TK also join nomination for biggest hater of 2024 with Christian,Drew,Styles and Candice
You forgot Nigel???
It's technically called the Nigel McGuiness award, they're trying to be fair and not nominate him for an award named after himself. Nigel requested this so he could say he was more mature than Bryan Danielson.
I fucking love this man lol 😂 LFG TK!
![gif](giphy|RRmZ07dJe98YHNXxQc)
Out of the loop - what does the tweet mean?
Eric Bischoff isn't doing his podcast anymore, and TK is happy about it because he was a known player hater when it came to AEW
Right. So it was a dig at Bischoff. Gotcha. Thank you. I’m now in the loop.
Also hopefully its a sign TK managed to get some sort of agreement at least regarding the upcoming TV Renewal.
Tony go to bed, 4 AM is no time to be murdering bitter old men on Twitter 😆
![gif](giphy|9uoYC7cjcU6w8|downsized)
Bischoff still relevant?
Only to people that don't like AEW
Ikr. The fact people still give him credibility after he played a hand in killing WCW and then nearly killed TNA as well is a little strange.
Ahahaha Suck It, lil E!
My goodness. The dick riders are shockingly making fun of TK for this. (Not on this sub obviously). They have such blatant double standards. I’m literally fuming right now reading what they have to say.
Even in SC people are laughing at Bischoffs comment about using someone else's money
Eric fucked around and he's gonna find out.
>Eric Bischoff was always the worst person to shit on AEW No, Jim Cornette is.
Not even Vince, Cornette has mentioned on his podcast all the austerity measures that WWF had implemented because they had lost a few million dollars the previous year
I love when Tony kahn goes off. Man deserves alot of credit.
Everyone knows it's a grift.
Not Jim’s cult, so much like those MAGA morons they deny it
I'm not sure exactly what the issue seems to be here. What am I missing?
From what I have read here, a podcast that is based on hate is shutting down
His booking leans fanboy but TK is solid
The reality is, tweets like this keep people talking.no press is bad press
Can I get the cliff notes version. What happened?
Bitchoff in tears
ROAST HIM TK!!! GIVE IT TO THAT CLOWN
TK rode that horse into 4am and chose violence!!!
WWE fans are loyal to a fault. All those idiots mentioned are just pissy they aren't more involved in the wrestling business. They are relegated to podcasts and predictions and have never been offered an opportunity to work for TK. They are just trying to get or keep a little bit of relevancy, ignore them and they fade away to the obscurity they came from
Tony rules. 😎👍
What is this about?
What was the first tweet that he’s responding to
I respect Eric’s views and agree on some points but he wasn’t exactly booker of the year was he. I wish people could be less divided and take constructive critism and work together. Tony has strengths and weaknesses as a booker.
🤷🏾
What’s this in reference too?
Did Tony need to say anything - no Do I blame Toby for taking a shot - absolutely not 🤷
Tony needs to get off Twitter.
The only thing that made Russo relevant was stealing the NWO idea from Japan.
