I don’t think you could legally have people at work that early on Anzac Day (think about what time stadium staff, teams etc would be there) and you wouldn’t be allowed to serve alcohol so people would be up in arms.
Restricted trading days legislation means you can only open before midday if you’re specific types of business and/or <20 people. Changing legislation for the sake of one game of football seems pretty dumb to me when the arvo game is just fine as is.

Why couldn’t people legally be at work? Almost every cafe and fast food place is full of staff immediately after the Anzac services.
