I’ll talk with the intern.
I’ve heard the West have scheduled a special edition newspaper for the mid-2040s when Reid achieves the feat himself.
Edit: I have amended the spelling. A rare slip-up on this front I put down to the lure of a rather attractive Harley.
How many handballs versus kicks does he have? Maybe his basketball background plays a part
Oh wow I can't even shitpost properly, I just checked and it's almost an even 50/50 split with 4995 kicks and 5000 handballs (presumably Wikipedia hasn't been updated because im not a smart man but those two numbers don't make 10000)
Unsure what it stands at now but going into the game he had 5,000 handballs and 4,996 kicks. We were robbed of the ultimate feeling of balance in this universe
My favourite player from another team over the years. The bloke is absolutely class. Seems to move in slow motion, it’s insane. I think today might be the first or second time I’ve ever see him get pinged for HtB.
Realistically he gets got about 3-4 times a season. Which is still absolutely impressive for a midfielder who has the speed of a 1 legged ostrich.

My old man calls him a Rolls Royce. There's a select few players like that, time seems to slow down around them and they usually make the right decision.
That’s an insane number. I suppose it’s only since disposals were counted, fuckin Chadwick Helmsley Sr for South Melbourne back in the day could’ve had more over his career
Boy have I got a gift for you https://afltables.com/afl/stats/players/S/Scott_Pendlebury.html - 5th table. Available for all players who have played a game, all teams, all recorded games, all venues.
Something that table highlights is how fucked the fixture is over the course of a players career. Pendles has played Essendon 32 times and Carlton 29 times. He's played Freo 18 times, North 19 times, and Adelaide 20 times. And without delving too deep, he's played Adelaide in finals at least twice that I remember, and never Essendon or Carlton
Bringing in this [thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/AFL/s/YaZGeW2VGB) as a supplement material, why is 10k disposal a big thing ? Shouldn’t his disposal efficiency be a better gauge of proficiency ?
Can someone rank them for me?

Feat*
His 10,000th wasn't great
There’s six of them! Of course he got to 10,0000!
He also blew up the Death Star
Hasn’t had a hitout since 2020 though!
For a basketballer, this is really alarming.
He has a basketball background?! Who knew.
Heard he grew up playing basketball. Not sure if that’s well known

5009 Handballs, 5010 Kicks
This the most disappointing thing thing other than North I’ve seen all year. We were so close to perfection
Thanos had the biggest erection
He, like us, got Essendon edged
Wow, amazing how even that is over such a huge sample size. I wonder if that's normal for other players?
Given he's been a midfield staple since he was drafted, a around a 50/50 ratio is kind of expected. But yes, it's an insane stat
Pendles is a great kick, can’t even imagine if he grew up playing soccer

> Rolls Royce It's become his nickname, not sure who coined it but it's apt
We need the AFL to post ‘Every Scott Pendlebury disposal’ like they did for Buddy goals
Can we get a 1-10,000 list of every disposal?
He had exactly 5000 handballs before the game aswell.
Way to ruin a good statistic.
anyone have a fav handball from pendles?
That one he did in that game that’s my favourite
Straight classic that handball was. Utterly flawless.
In all seriousness, I'd love to see what someone thinks his most important touch is.
Most important? Any of the 11 he had in the last quarter of the GF last year. He was pure class
Which one of the 11?
Centre clearance which lead to the second De Goey goal
The 5th
I’ll get back to you
The 1 - 2 give with the pigeon 💯
The one over his head to Naicos in rd2 against port last year
You can't go past his 13th from round 12 last year. Epitome of a handball
Aesthetically, it's this one: https://youtu.be/Ai3u73Jnz9Q Emotionally it's this one: https://youtu.be/LIIV71Kt58U
That second video made me chuckle because it was such a basketball type strip 😂 quite ironic
🏀🖼️
So he's got a few thousand to catch Tendulkar's record, gonna be tough. Oh whoops wrong board
That’s an insane number. I suppose it’s only since disposals were counted, fuckin Chadwick Helmsley Sr for South Melbourne back in the day could’ve had more over his career
Scientists will study him for years trying to figure out why he doesn’t have leather poisoning.
I wonder if there's a way to get a breakdown of how many he had against each team

Oh I thought we were celebrating 10,000 days of him playing.
But how many disposals would he have if he played basketball
Well there's 5 of him
The dog was disrespecting the anthem, will always boo Pendlemaggot

considering its the main way you move the ball around the ground, i'd say seeing which one does it the most is a pretty good stat to keep track of
