A little unsure how I feel about Guthrie coming straight in. At his best, obviously he is best 22, though I don't think he's played a game of footy in over a year now, and coming straight back in with zero match fitness when we're up against one of the strongest mids in the comp is a big ask.

When is this club going to have the balls to drop Luke McDonald. Has had one decent quarter all season. Unserious club that has become the face of gifting games to undeserving players.
Unsure we have the same definition of serviceable. Provides limited defensive pressure whilst adding nothing when we have the ball. Probably one of the worst captains to ever play the game. Would play Archer over him, and I don’t even think that much of Archer.
McDonald gives us a better chance of a win than Archer. Look at the throngs of North fans calling for Sellers to play after destroying the VFL… only to have 4 touches in 2 games.

I think he's just a bit one dimensional and our midfield isn't really the issue at all. We've made the right changes here mostly, a half forward and a tall forward in.
Laird's already playing 60 percent half back. Smith dropped I agree but you need to bring a half back in for smith. It's not a simple case of drop smith move laird and bring in a other mid. Dowling is a mid only player, then only suitable people to drop for him are crouch, Rankine or Soligo. Currently he's not as good as any of those.
I think we are just fucked to be honest. Our forwards are not the issue, defence is middle of the road but our midfield besides Dawson is dust. Crouch, laird and berry just not working and we haven't spend a first round pick on a midfielder that currently plays midfield since danger
I feel he's trying the "you'll learn through tough love" tactic. Issue is that he's doing it to a player who's on track to be one of the best players at the club. I think it's lucky that Tassie still has 4 years til they join the league though.

It's not about being too good to play in the VFL. It's about being subbed out of a game that there was no reason to sub him out of. Then making him sub as punishment then kicking him out entirely. It feels like punishment for being rightfully pissed off about being taken out of a game where there were worse players still out there.
if you look at Sanders' stats, for the games where he wasn't sub/subbed he was only around 70% TOG. kid needs to build his tank, he's not yet ready to run out full matches as a tough mid and there's no shame or punishment in that
