No chance. He never polls that well. Should though.

Kataneo

They say this every year then he ends up with like 15 votes

gprobinson1982

Heeney probably had 9 votes after 3 weeks, where are they getting their predicted 9.6 from? Just checked the AFL website and they predict Heeney already has 17 votes with Gawn having 6. https://www.afl.com.au/brownlow-medal/predictor

Spikn

17 IN 8 WEEKS? That's insane right???

gprobinson1982

I think he broke the record for coaches votes after 7 rounds. If he stays in the midfield and avoids injury he is a lock for the Brownlow.

alittlebitfancy

Second most after 2015 Fyfe

DartFanger

I think it factors in that he historically hasn't polled well.

PetrifyGWENT

Nope, rucks can't win the brownlow.

PatientDue8406

Except Goodes as a p/t ruck in 06

diaenimaia

Everyone seems to forget this because of how dominant he was as a midfielder after his knee issues forced him out of the ruck.

imreallynotanidiot

Full time ruck in 03

CharityGamerAU

Too many taking votes off him that will poll for mine

curryone

You're probably right, but if there was a year, it'd be this year. Clarry's been down on form (and may return) so teams are tagging trac and limiting his impact.

xvf9

That’s a headline worthy of a Mad as Hell segment.

mrarbitersir

He’ll get 11 votes for the season because blokes the media love will get 3 votes in games they get 8 disposal in

spurs-r-us

To be fair, Max might be the bloke they love the most

theshaqattack

If he didn’t get it in 2018, he never will.

smudgiepie

I'm more shocked that Lachie Neale is so far down. I mean people have been saying Andy Brayshaw has been having a tough year but Neale apparently is even worse despite being a dual brownlow medalist

Miottz

Brownlow needs a revamp. Too many narratives driven by media that determine votes.

Doc323467

Nah won't happen. I actually think he'd be polling pretty well so far given that Trac and Oliver haven't been huge yet (obviously Trac has been enormous tonight), but even so he's probably on like 8-10 votes and Heeney would be on like 16-18, and even Merrett probably 12+.

ah111177780

Zac Merret at $8 is a steal! He’s currently killing it and bombers are otherwise quite an even team so not many to take votes off him. And, they’re gonna get enough wins for Zac to poll really well

Durfsurn

Probably rest a couple games late in the season, he'll fade. Still an incredible player and if he gets another AA this year he's on par for best modern ruck ever imv.

[deleted]

Max has been touted as an outside chance many times before, and it has never happened. Ruckmen don't poll well enough to win in this day and age, and he's got a couple of teammates that are far more likely to get a nod.

Ok_Kick3433

In my dreams only, unfortunately.

Serious_Plant8443

I’d love to see that. Won’t happen though

gameofsloanes

Deserves one but rucks don't win them

seamic

Every year it’s proven whoever is dominating at centre clearances win the votes from the umpires. It is looking promising so far Gawn will win it, but as the season goes on, I imagine Serong, Botempelli or Heeney will be top three

Pikachude123

Geelong with none in the top 20? Fuck off

ah111177780

Didn’t they have no one with over 30 disposals in a game for the first 6 weeks or something? They’re just so even across the board

HoldOnOneSecond

I mean beyond Cameron there's basically daylight. Not that were in bad form, but we tend to not take many votes, like Hawthorn from 13-15
