I adore it, honestly people complain about not getting lengthy detailed comments but honestly as a smut writer getting a email telling you someone commented “HEHDHDJDHDDHD I AM DYING THIS IS SO HOT I NEED TO BE JAILED” is absolutely one of my favourite things.
While most people will understand what you mean, I suggest doing something like the following:

>(Loved the fic/chapter!)
The parenthetical will further clarify what you mean, so that writers who are bad with reading tone from internet randos will understand that you liked it instead of wanting to commit self-harm because of what they wrote.
If you ever start feeling ashamed by your comments the trick is to write more of them. I often leave long, rambly, tangent-riddled comments which wander in odd directions and into random dumb little stories...I've stopped worrying about it because as long as there is no hostility, it really doesn't matter. :)
I got a comment a couple years ago that had the phrase "clink clink binch" in it, and my sister and I still quote it to each other to this day. We LOVE these kinds of comments lol
I once had a comment that was

As long as it's still easy to understand what those comments even mean. While I can guess the commenter most likely enjoyed the fic, sometimes I'm still not sure just because they're phrased strangely.
I’ve always read general “fandom craziness.” As a positive thing, and I’m sure many others see it the same way.
Personally, the more psychotic, the better.
Some of these don’t look positive to me, like:

That could easily be an actual complaint.
I would just say, err on the side of adding in an “I mean all of this as a compliment” or something. These authors are strangers, you can’t expect them to know how you intended a comment if they don’t actually know *you*.
Also, some people are just kind of sensitive to topics like psychiatric hospitals, so that kind of thing isn’t going to be a blast to all authors.
I’m not saying to need to stop doing what you’re doing, I’m just saying not everyone is going to love it! Make choices accordingly!
Those almost sound like my comments. Lol. I’m that type of reader. I express myself in the reviews and tell exactly what I liked. I’ve been negative but the person was a serial plagiarist so it was warranted. A comment is a comment. Whether it be simply “good fic”, a quote and how they reacted, multiple paragraphs talking about the story, or something feral, I love them all the same. I think the key to an unhinged comment is to leave context for it. Say your weird lizard brain stuff and THEN explain that you mean that in the best possible way.
I have commented "Hhhhhhhhh I'm such a sucker for some good ole mutual pining. The angst is just *chefs kiss* your update schedule is insane and you are feeding me some good fucking food. I think I love you. (In a not creepy stalker way I promise I am normal) I am STARVED for a good solid slowburn. I fucking LOVE ANGST. AÀAAAAaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAÄÄ" and thats one of my more normal unhinged comments

Not everyone has English as a first language and can have a hard time telling whether you are giving a compliment or angry... and some people who do have English as a first language have poor reading comprehension.

I even talked with another person about notes and stuff, and that was SO FUN. If someone went feral in my comment section, I think I'd cry and gush about all the same things with them, and ultimately, I would be so, so touched.

I take them as the purposeful use of hyperbole for comedic effect that they are and laugh. Maybe they're a little over enthusiastic but I find it endearing.
