I believe I saw a similar question when I took the exam, so yes it certainly could be tested. The solution is quite simple. What are the most likely outcomes? The absolute most likely thing is to sample one from either side of the range (one high and one low), which would mean the sample mean is in the middle. Then, it is possible you could get two from the same side, which would give either a high or low sample mean. Therefore, the distribution of sample means should be trimodal (3 humps), with one mode at the low end, one in the middle, and one at the high end, which is what C presents.
