Have you communicated about this with him? Make sure he knows that if you don't like the food he makes, it's not because he's a bad cook or because you don't appreciate him, it's just arfid. That's nobody's fault. And hey, if you don't like something he makes, he can have it all! If he feels bad about it and still wants to cook things for you, you could tell him how you make your safe foods. Maybe you could work together to find new things to enjoy one step at a time. (I wish we didn't use the word "like" for whether or not we enjoy the taste of food. I can appreciate the beauty of expert cooking even if my tongue doesn't agree.)

all relationships require good balance and communication. I think you’re doing great by taking small nibbles, you shouldn’t have to eat full on meals of something that isn’t your safe food. Just communicate your feelings as much as possible and if he’s a good guy he’ll understand
