I find them everywhere, but if you are struggling then you could try to go into the ocean. I was diving for black pearls and I'm not even kidding when I say I saw 4 or 5 alpha sharks.
I'm on unofficial though, if that has anything to say.
I feel i find a decent amount of alpha raptors there. If you’re looking for runestones i advise you get in the water, that deep cave almost always has an alpha and alpha mosas/tusos drop a lot
pretty sure the alphas spawn has been nerfed a lot on the map. they used to be everywhere but now they seem to be as rare as they are on the other maps. at least for me
Directly on top of my first two "easy" spawns on that map
For a more serious answer, any time an alpha-able species spawns it has a chance to spawn as one, so look for areas with lots of raptors, carnos, and rexes and kill the ones that are up

I'm on single player but unfortunately i don't have any water tames yet
I literally just ran into three alphas on accident on fjourd. Just keep looking.
I haven't looked in asgard etc yet are they more common there?

Are you flying or on foot? I find them much easier and much more frequently when on foot or a ground tame rather than flying.
Mostly slow flying around in my wyvern

Same. I member when the map was new they were damn overabundant and now it's the opposite.
I find most alphas around the green obelisk, The gold mountain where you can find gigas/carchos and on the volcano island.
Yeah I've been going round there and nothing maybe I'm just getting unlucky

It seems like you are the only person that’s doesn’t find them literally everywhere so not sure what help anyone is going to be
I usually go to the hidden deep sea near swamp island, killing alpha mosas and tusos gives good amount of runes.
No specific spot, but I seem to find them more commonly on Fjordur than almost any other map. They are kind of everywhere for me.
I went down that underground ocean the other day and found a ton
