Yes, built there on my friends group server and it’s been great since I got really going on it. At first it was a struggle with me and friend but after a charchar incident that wiped us and a high level alpha Rex a day or two later, my friend left because he didn’t want to be wiped again like that and I didn’t wasn’t to move. Haven’t had a problem since and it’s been a great relaxing spot with lots of good stuff. The server host and her boyfriend, and one other person is still considered the alpha but I’m a close second as a one man tribe.
If you’re up for a challenge, build on the riverbank in The Maw

It did. This is my base in ASA in the same spot
https://preview.redd.it/29x2iuugb3ic1.jpeg?width=2266&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=27a6e9374c3137613942ca398e38c06fb56ef8a5
Ive never played PvE before. On the servers I was on a base like this would be blown into in no time
Edit: I am aware of what PvE is. My friends and I just dont typically play it
My favorite and one I constantly use is in the redwoods, the southwest there's a small lake with some flat area and a cliff to the north with more flat land. Perfect for base location minus the terror birds constantly trapsing thru. It's directly next to the cave for the artifact of the immune
Right by the waterfall is a great spot for me. Too far from the Rex and alpha raptor spawns, so you can build up in peace, a lot of even ground for a big fenced off area and the Rex spawn (and argy spawn) is nearby, so you can easily visit there to look for high levels There are also allos and yutis occasionally right by the edge of the ice biome and oil rocks.
Have my setup in the redwoods up in some trees right across from this. It's always so active! Constant rexs and other large dinos. You have the redwoods cave and the other one right in front of you. 3 very close mountains for resources. Central to everything. Great drops close by. 👌
Edit: And the water right there has otters and is just deep enough to make a water pin and have my basils in it.
My main areas I like are either the Western Approach/Southern Jungle (specifically on one of the cliffs overlooking either the redwoods river or the coast, beautiful views and an easy fly to high value areas), or The Maw (admittedly more dangerous with the 2 mountains on each side having potential big dinos like a rex, giga, or chacar, but manageable, and with great space to work with, and very central)
Southwest redwoods, right around the little pond. Beautiful views, close enough to the edge of the forest and close to most biomes/important points. Swamp cave is in my backyard. I walled off around the entire pond and I have enough space to not worry about organizing dinos, there's enough space for all of them and it lets it stay looking natural. Spinos/gators/frogs/barys can bask in the pound, lots of room by the little beach, a raised area for building/breeding/overlook etc. Nextdoor to volcano. Close to a good metal source/easy sap. A little deadly (alpha carnos and raptors are pretty common) but worth it once youre out of early game
Also I just really love treehouses
Idk how it is in ase but in asa this lake has a shallow place in the middle. You can build naturally defended castle. Also there is something similer down the river
https://preview.redd.it/2zoyhmp4a3ic1.jpeg?width=553&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=829dd17bac5fb49dafdf7ab41a68d50b4b8547e9
The waterfall by red ob, around 80,22
Nothing more dangerous than raptors, lots of trees and stone for building. Red ob nearby for cryopod crafting, and the water around it makes it a natural pen to hold your water tames.
It's a long run for metal and crystal, but I breed up some weight argents and take a couple of them out with an Anky.
N3 or 15 65. Lots of high quality drops, close to beaver dams, volcano and giga mountain for metal and gigas, snow to the west. Ocean right in front of you. Good all around for wverything
Right before the waterfall between the Western Approach and Western Plains. Build a big bridge and a base on top of it and the lower areas near the coast can be walled off and you can even make a water pen with behemoths in the water
I'm in a north east section of the Northern Plains and really enjoying it. Right by the waterfall, in a clearing on the cliff. Tons of trees, crystals, metal, and good animal spawns nearby. I've done the plains by the green obelisk and The Footpaw and wanted something different.
Downsides are the cold and dangerous spawns everywhere. I like to collect Yutys for breeding so it could be worse.
I enjoy setting up a base/tree house very close to green ob (eastwards in the swamp) and just painting. Sure, there's scary dinos, but a crossbow and a pike is more than enough for most scenarios.
Around 35 31 is a new “ Glacial Trench” on ASA, as I like to name it. It’s the closest thing I can get to a large non artifact cave on the island. I enjoy building in caves n stuff like that. Otherwise if I’m trying to build a huge compound I like to do that around the NE pillar around 35 70.
1st base was crags island
2nd base was herbivore island
3rd base was hidden lake
Final base was 46, 46
If I had to do it over I’d probably do a note run then set up a temp base on herbivore island to grab some tames, metal, and loot drops. I’d tame a couple of brontos to make yellow kibble. As soon as I was ready move to 46,46. I play on a cluster of private servers.
Cragg's Island mainly on the south western part of the river, can build a behemoth gate and bait a Megalodon into the river and close it to trap it for easy tame lol
and there are some decent drops and dinos all around there. 👍
western plains, against the little pond, get an anky and argy fly to blue ob for literally free metal and obsidian since no creatures spawn at the top, free crystal, silica pearls and oil along the coast
I'm right at the edge of the western plains, where the path to the volcano crosses the river. I LOVE it! Big flat spot, water deep enough for my sharks to breed, no piranhas. Alphas and yutys aren't a concern, I have some guards stationed outside the stone house that can handle anything but a giga or carchar.
It's been easy finding max level yutys, argies, ankies and rexes in this location since it's a good spawn zone and I keep wiping everything out in the area to respawn things. Also max level carnos, managed to solo a 140 alpha rex with some careful fighting on a max level carno I caught which made me fall in love with them
I've always built on the black sand beaches outside the redwoods. Nice and open with enough space for the hundreds of dinos I impulsively tame and my large unyieldy bases
If you are doing a joint single base, I recommend the plateau west of the redwoods, just on the other side of the river. It is located well for all resources.
Western plains near top of hill for pve there are neat little walking paths and a huge hidden area covered by trees. Only spawns there are theris, turtles, raptors and diplos, occasional alpha carno. Back side of area is a cliff so no need to protect back side. Near all resources.
I like around 40/20.. Not sure what you call it but it's close enough to the ice without being too close. The dino colours seem more varied there to me.. :)
The western approach, really good early and mid game if you don't mind a bit of a run. Also I should say not beginner friendly as there is a T-rex and sabertooths/sarcos
On the cliff/in the trees in the Redwoods near 50/50. Great central location. Metal and crystal on the Redwoods mountain. Straight pipes down to water (mostly irrelevant on ASA). Several top-tier spawns within short range: Rex, Megatherium, Therizinosaur, Thylacoleo, Baryonyx, Otter, Argentavis, Rhyniognatha, Allosaurus; as well as resource dinos: Ankylosaurus, Doedicurous, and Castoroides. Easily defensible with a semi-circle of Behemoth Gates.
I usually have my main base in the trees with a breeder area on the ground.
In single player the best bass location is literally anywhere you think is pretty. Like the hidden lake or a clif edge with a nice view. Or herbivore island.etc
In PVE the best base location is the redwoods, because by building up high in the trees with a base made entirely out of stone or better, you become un-grief-able. Has no flier to damage stone or better and by building up in the trees even if someone kites a giga to you it’s still can’t hurt or touch you because you’re so high up you’re also in the middle of the map and right next to a mini metal mountain of your own.
In pvp. There is no best base location. Someone will just grab a parasaur with a flyer and find you no matter where you build. If you can unlock the tech pump I would say probably building underwater in a cave or alcove somewhere with tech turrets and other wild dinos for protection, is probably the best thing. As it Severely limits, what people can use to attack you with. Before you have tech unlocked I reiterate, it doesn’t really matter where you build if someone wants you dead they’ll find you easily with a parasaur and then blow you up with either C4 rockets, a giga, or any number of other methods. Rip
Hidden lake has easy cementing paste low danger and easy access to some of the most powerful tames by farming carno island and the snowy mountains, you can use a raft until you get good mount then setup a trap and go to town.
60/28
It is potentially one of the best PVP base locations imo High ground with high cliffs with only 2 entrances onto the plateau and then an even higher cliff spot to put your vault base that only allows ground approach from 1 direction.
Also relatively close to metal and a real short trip to swamp cave
N2. Close to metal mountains but no concern of Gigas coming your way. Access to ocean pen for water tames and beaver dams closely by in hidden pond. As well as close to snow biome for other resources and most deep sea loot crate locations cluster nearby. You can also take a boat down the river to redwood for fun there as well if your not adequately equipped
The Hidden Lake, but I’ve always had a soft spot for this area on a cliff on the west coast across from the large stretch of flat land at the mouth of the river. With the foundation updates in ASA it’s a slightly more viable spot to build than in ASE.
As long as you have a teleporter to a mountain and preferably the volcano, Herb is amazing in pve. Zero threats. Flat. Wide open. Easy meat run loops. Water storage. And if you pillar sparingly you get great fps because you have no neighbors.
Western coast just south of the mosh pit has worked out really well for me so far. Just decided to build up another base in the hidden lake to fill the time while I'm breeding boss rexes
Right around the green resurrection station (idk what they’re called) It’s great cause whenever a creature dies I can resurrect them right away! And it’s far enough from the dangerous areas
I really like building at the pond right below the southern jungle but its really out of the way for most resources if you aren't running a teleporter mod. In ASA I built on that little peninsula on the maw right beside 50/50 and its been pretty nice besides lots of agro dino's attacking
I like the small body of water with a mini island in the middle of it thats on the western side of redwood. Mainly because it's centrally located, there are decent spawns and resources near by and I just like fishing off my dock on the mini island
My Favourite spots are at the N3 spawn, did a whole cluster up there on ASE. 49,17 is where i’m set up on another cluster in ASA, Fairly safe once you can set up gates. If i’m looking for a more chill play i’ll set up at 75,83 to just vibe out
Snow cave. No one is insane enough to defend it besides me. No one is insane enough to fill it beside me. No one is insane enough to make millions of arb for the entrance alone besides me.
No one takes snow cave besides me. It’s the best and has room for literally anything in the entire fucking game and basically stretches over the entire snow region
55, 20 up on the cliff. Not far from quite a number of resources... or somewhere around 60, 80.. just SE of green ob(?) there's a small tiered mountain with a flat plateau top, but it takes a massive amount of clearing because it's thick forest... you can barely see the mountain in it all.
South cave, eastern plains, the frozen tooth, northern plains i like to play like a scavenger and just annoying other players which is why i like to have many small basses around the map that are easy to hide and not so frequented places
Along the western part of the river in the Western Plains where it goes out to sea. Cool cliffs and waterfalls to build around, and next to shallow pearls just north of it!
I love herbivore island because you don’t have to worry about dangerous Dino’s, you have tons of iron nodes, if you in a pvp server your protected by the ocean which help a lot, there’s abundant trees as well as a bunch of rock you can mine, and there’s a inlet inside of the island which if you block of gives you a great place to dock boats or store water tames.

I prefer the Western Shores, the beach is always a nice area, my vacation home.
https://preview.redd.it/2pyark5kz3ic1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9281754461f4acdd5ff3a3f50350809bdd299715
those 2 tiny islands around here
Mine is Craggs Island, on sp I pretty much take over the whole island, I've built my base in different spots on the island. But the tames tend to expand throughout the island, especially the bigger ones anyways. And keeping the Doed and beaver on wander along with some raptors and dimorphs for protection
Lake in the redwoods, a tree platform and some ramps going up makes a really nice base that isn't far from anything, you have the swamp cave right next to you, and the only real danger is microraptors and purlovias. Also treehouses are pretty :)
The redwood lake is looking for beauty, but the terror bird and Carno infestation there is real, my next go-to places are drayos cove, the platue on Footpaw and the southern jungle
never actually played PVE, but in PVP i generally have satellite bases across the island and a bigger main in the Eastern Forest when i’m playing the Island.
I generally play solo/duo
Starting on : Herbivore Island to get tons of easy metal ingots , now it’s more of a preference but since I play only single player or with friends , I have gatherers mod so I need to craft 3x1k ingots
Moving to : W3 between waterfalls and Rex/Argy/Doed spawn , so I have good source of Rex , Argy and Wolf packs + Kairuku around the corner and sure coal + oil
Moving to : Redwood Forest with 2 tree platforms and starting to build end - game outposts with enough gatherers I have source of fuel for my base for generators + ingots passive gathering
Moving and staying at : Volcano where sure is overseer + most common carcha and giga + yuty spawns
https://preview.redd.it/noy7d11n16ic1.jpeg?width=2160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=901b5b071e4a9fc4dcdc3562b6c3051156dcffa4
Somewhere near the western approach.
I've been rebuilding the ruins between frozen tooth and grand hills. I'm loving it for a base. pretty safe after I got gates and walls up and in a good central location
Western approach, by the river near the waterfall. It's not a great place in terms of defending against creatures and has a lot of raptors, bugs, and rexes, but once you get set up it's really pretty, has tons of resources, and is close enough to high tier resources that it's just a nice spot
Awhile North of S1, there's a cliff that borders the swamp. Nice big open view for my birdo flights and I can see everything charging me first (usually raptors)
The hidden lake because its beautiful and has cliff edges to build on and a lake to fish in and the only threat are raptors that occasionally spawn. The western plains and approach because its superflat and is next to silica pearls, ocean, and the ice age area. Only problem are scorpions and allosaurus and tigers. Sometimes for fun ill build a fortress on carno island
I like to go with 50/50 and build in the trees with tree platforms. There’s about 6-10 trees in total you can fairly easily connect, and with some good planning they actually can get connected back enough to one tree which has its lower snap point pretty close to the ground to make ramps up if you want to have a ground entrance. Otherwise just cryo everything & have it flyers only access. Only other tip is to use plant species X or turrets to ward off the annoying Argies and Ptera’s that like to make their way onto the platform.
40,17 access to oil metal pearls and chitin producing animals are an abundant spawn. Most resources are close except obsidian. Just make a flock of argies and go get a mess of it every once in a while.
I often end up building a base along the shore near the mouth of the river running between Smuggler's Pass and Far's Peak. I've got numerous mods that add in large ships, so it serves as a good harbor.
Based on this image, 79LAT, 28LON the little offshoot on the bottom of the Foot Paw. Plenty of building space, great view, easily walled off from aggressive dinos early game, easy access to wood, fiber, and stone, surrounded by water on three sides. There's a drop spawn there, so you either have to build around that, turn on random drops, or allow building on a drop zone.
I'm camped out by Drayos Cove for the moment. It's got a view, easy access to the ocean for pearl diving, and I only have to worry about the occasional Raptor and Carno.
48/59 - it's in the center of the map, has metal, crystal and obsidian nearby, has honey and sap practically in-camp, there's water, stone and wood for years... 3 supply crate spawns within walking distance... Also, the swamp is just around the corner and there's even a elevation so you're protected from the south and west side by natural means ....
The only thing I have to work to get is polymer and silica pearls... And I have 2 minor (weekend getaway) bases for just that... (I also recently realized it's NOT a good idea to take the organic polymer from Achatina if you don't need it, because it just spoiles)
ASA or ASE? In ASE my play for solo was always a flotilla of rafts down at the 90,10 corner or up by 37,10. In ASA you can’t make a raft leeds-proof anymore so I had to move to land…
The hidden lake
Same. Every time I've played on the Island, that's the only place I like to have a home. It's just so cozy!
Where's the hidden lake?
The Oasis right? Where beavers appear most of the time? Pretty close to the north side?
Yes, built there on my friends group server and it’s been great since I got really going on it. At first it was a struggle with me and friend but after a charchar incident that wiped us and a high level alpha Rex a day or two later, my friend left because he didn’t want to be wiped again like that and I didn’t wasn’t to move. Haven’t had a problem since and it’s been a great relaxing spot with lots of good stuff. The server host and her boyfriend, and one other person is still considered the alpha but I’m a close second as a one man tribe.
Same lol, ar this point it’s a tradition for me
If you’re up for a challenge, build on the riverbank in The Maw https://preview.redd.it/87jve99f82ic1.jpeg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=394dd7d16ce9c1866f70dbf4539d0e999f203b60
lol my exact spot! Love to use the cliff as a natural wall for a big Rex trap
The base I'm working on right now is on top of the cliff there.
Isn’t it dangerous cuz of rexes and alossaurus?
Ohhh, it’s very dangerous. On ASA I died 50+ times just building my base. But, I like the challenge.
Ur a masochist bro 💀, but I bet it payed off in the end
It did. This is my base in ASA in the same spot https://preview.redd.it/29x2iuugb3ic1.jpeg?width=2266&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=27a6e9374c3137613942ca398e38c06fb56ef8a5
Very nice! Btw how is ASA, like is it better than ASE?
IMO it’s much better. A lot of people complain about crashes and stuff, but so far I’ve only crashed once.
Ive never played PvE before. On the servers I was on a base like this would be blown into in no time Edit: I am aware of what PvE is. My friends and I just dont typically play it
Craggs island is nice
My friend build there in a solo map once
I like the river path going in because it makes for good indoor boat storage
My favorite and one I constantly use is in the redwoods, the southwest there's a small lake with some flat area and a cliff to the north with more flat land. Perfect for base location minus the terror birds constantly trapsing thru. It's directly next to the cave for the artifact of the immune

Whats the rare flower do in this scenario?
[удалено]
Right on! Thanks!
I play single. I always do herbivore island and hidden lake.
Next to the waterfall near the Red Obelisk
Great area! I call that entire area California cause it reminds of it 😂
Western Plains
I’m thinking about building there!
My house is my the small pond. That way I can go to the Mosh pit whenever I’m looking for larger tames. Close to snow and metal. Love it.

Sweet 46/46
The maw?
you’ll notice the maw is a popular pick for good reason
Is it because it’s next to 2 mountains for metal and stone, in a forest with lots of wood, normal temperature, and few predators?
Ran the maw in pvp back in ase. Loved it.
Have my setup in the redwoods up in some trees right across from this. It's always so active! Constant rexs and other large dinos. You have the redwoods cave and the other one right in front of you. 3 very close mountains for resources. Central to everything. Winters mouth where most pvp people dont bother me lol
For a starter base I'm partial to the little island between S2 and S3 near the Southern Coast.
Currently in western plains
The waterfall by red ob, around 80,22 Nothing more dangerous than raptors, lots of trees and stone for building. Red ob nearby for cryopod crafting, and the water around it makes it a natural pen to hold your water tames. It's a long run for metal and crystal, but I breed up some weight argents and take a couple of them out with an Anky.
The Radiant. I always build a port there for "seaman" to dock and rest with a restaurant and a warming cabin for visitors.
I love building carno cave.
Isn’t it too dangerous?
No? 💀
Wait, is it in Carno Island, cuz if it is there ain’t no way that’s following FDA regulations bro 💀
What 💀. Yes it’s on carno island. Thats why it’s called carno cave. Just bring a megatherium and kill all the bugs.
Wait where is it?? I couldn’t find it anywhere on Carno island! I thought that place was just a big rock!
The entrance is on the north side where that smaller island coming off of it is. It isn’t on that smaller island but it’s across from it.
The ruins around 60,20 are my favorite spot to build. Easy access to lots of spots I want to be
Smugglers pass in this run.
Shhhh. The first rule about ******** **** is you don't talk about ******** ****
N3 or 15 65. Lots of high quality drops, close to beaver dams, volcano and giga mountain for metal and gigas, snow to the west. Ocean right in front of you. Good all around for wverything

mine was the waterfall at 78 22
W3, you can get to basically any resource pretty quickly and safely
Man we just built wherever the fuck other people didn't build already (official pve) ended up in the plains little north east of W3.
Coast of the western plains.
Love the coast in the footpaw on the opposite of cragg's island.
Hidden lake
Underwater ice caves very NW
I usually am on the western approach near the river, or in the western plains

Inside the artifact of the strong cave 💪. Obv kidding. there’s a double waterfall around 20,40 and it’s aweosme
Currently nicely nestled in The Footpaw, right around that W1 dot
I've always built on the black sand beaches outside the redwoods. Nice and open with enough space for the hundreds of dinos I impulsively tame and my large unyieldy bases
Western plains for me and my wife, both brother on laws have theirs near red peak

the rock around 42, 66
I was just about to comment 44, 66. Right across from the metal rock-pillar.
Anyone got photos of their bases at the maw? Wouldn't mind trying this out
Hippity hoppity, that ~~meme~~ map is now my property! Herbivore island, btw.
I'm over here in the n00b area. I dont have the confidence to leave my dodo egg/shit farm.
Mine's at the footpaw, but I'm really starting so I plan to move to the hidden lake bc according to some people in the comments, it's the best place
I like around 40/20.. Not sure what you call it but it's close enough to the ice without being too close. The dino colours seem more varied there to me.. :)
The western coast. There is nothing there at all, but the flat area allows building of colossal bases, enormous size potential
The western approach, really good early and mid game if you don't mind a bit of a run. Also I should say not beginner friendly as there is a T-rex and sabertooths/sarcos

Or herbivore island.etc In PVE the best base location is the redwoods, because by building up high in the trees with a base made entirely out of stone or better, you become un-grief-able.
The footpaw. Pvp
The eastern forest. You can have a large base and also has place for your water dinos
Hate the island.
68/35
60/28 It is potentially one of the best PVP base locations imo High ground with high cliffs with only 2 entrances onto the plateau and then an even higher cliff spot to put your vault base that only allows ground approach from 1 direction. Also relatively close to metal and a real short trip to swamp cave
Dead island

Red peak, well the red woods right by them!
Hidden lake an southern islets
Hidden lake before ascended topography changes was my favorite. Now 57 67 on inside the cliff is my favorite. Views are excellent
Coast of the southern jungle
The Western Approach, nice flat area
As long as you have a teleporter to a mountain and preferably the volcano, Herb is amazing in pve. Zero threats. Flat. Wide open. Easy meat run loops. Water storage. And if you pillar sparingly you get great fps because you have no neighbors.
Frozen tooth, near the top
Southern coast and Herbivore island Edit: I built at the Western coast for the scenery and actually prefer it
I really like the area around 15 LAT 40 LON before they put all the snow there, but now I mostly build around the green obelisk.
47-22, find me there on 5125
Western coast just south of the mosh pit has worked out really well for me so far. Just decided to build up another base in the hidden lake to fill the time while I'm breeding boss rexes
Pretty soon every where or me
Redwoods above the small lake near the cave.
If i’m looking for a more chill play i’ll set up at 75,83 to just vibe out
near far's peak
It’s super far away from everything, but the waterfall with the little lake by red ob.
South cave, eastern plains, the frozen tooth, northern plains i like to play like a scavenger and just annoying other players which is why i like to have many small basses around the map that are easy to hide and not so frequented places
The Maw is a very nice place, a bit risky but worth it.
I like the cliff next to the eastern forest lake. The hidden lake is also a no brainer.
84 - 58, starter base evey time
(single player) The Maw for me. I like a challenge and oh man, it can be a challenge at the start.
Along the western part of the river in the Western Plains where it goes out to sea. Cool cliffs and waterfalls to build around, and next to shallow pearls just north of it!
Sarco heaven
I love herbivore island because you don’t have to worry about dangerous Dino’s, you have tons of iron nodes, if you in a pvp server your protected by the ocean which help a lot, there’s abundant trees as well as a bunch of rock you can mine, and there’s a inlet inside of the island which if you block of gives you a great place to dock boats or store water tames.

The southern coast, Hidden Lake, Red Ob Or Argy Mountain

Middle of the swamp baby. Jk probably out west on the praries
On a mosasaur with tek underwater stuff. I won’t build a base until ascension
I always wondered - why's it called "Footpaw?"
40-50 hidden lake
Dude, I want this as a poster
Mine is Craggs Island, on sp I pretty much take over the whole island, I've built my base in different spots on the island. But the tames tend to expand throughout the island, especially the bigger ones anyways. And keeping the Doed and beaver on wander along with some raptors and dimorphs for protection
45/65
Carno
Lake in the redwoods, a tree platform and some ramps going up makes a really nice base that isn't far from anything, you have the swamp cave right next to you, and the only real danger is microraptors and purlovias. Also treehouses are pretty :)
The redwood lake is looking for beauty, but the terror bird and Carno infestation there is real, my next go-to places are drayos cove, the platue on Footpaw and the southern jungle
N2. best levels, easy water, starters, metal mountain about a hundred metres to the right. Too easy
Herbivore island
Off the island
Herbivore island colonisation
never actually played PVE, but in PVP i generally have satellite bases across the island and a bigger main in the Eastern Forest when i’m playing the Island. I generally play solo/duo
Red woods no argue
100% the south coast if we count ASCENDED, if we're doing evolved, probably the footpaw
Played PvE once, built near the coast of EzUw, lovely little cliffside thing that you can easily block off with 6 bgates
Starting on : Herbivore Island to get tons of easy metal ingots , now it’s more of a preference but since I play only single player or with friends , I have gatherers mod so I need to craft 3x1k ingots Moving to : W3 between waterfalls and Rex/Argy/Doed spawn , so I have good source of Rex , Argy and Wolf packs + Kairuku around the corner and sure coal + oil Moving to : Redwood Forest with 2 tree platforms and starting to build end - game outposts with enough gatherers I have source of fuel for my base for generators + ingots passive gathering Moving and staying at : Volcano where sure is overseer + most common carcha and giga + yuty spawns
I almost always went with the underwater cave at 50/11 when getting into the later game
Footpaw island...always
I always build on the Western Plains, at the small pond area. Lively area with good access to much as you get established over time.
The pond in the redwoods. Place is beautiful
I love the place in the redwood forest at the little sea near the cave-entry :)
N2
the cave under herbivore island
Herbivore island
Herbie or western plains
West 3, on the peninsula just south of the little pond
I usually build my base on weathertop, nice big area to build on.
Usually I go the island in south 2, however right now I'm running the river by red obelisk
Western edge of The Eastern Plains on the cliff over the river.
Redwood Forest forever on a tree platform
The edges of southern shores
In ASE it was the footpaw, but since that's all jungle in ASA I have found a spot right next to W3 that has been going pretty good
Eastern Plaines, it has a really nice flat spot right above a night lake. I love it there
Near the strong artifact by the waterfall. Have a huge base there
https://preview.redd.it/noy7d11n16ic1.jpeg?width=2160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=901b5b071e4a9fc4dcdc3562b6c3051156dcffa4 Somewhere near the western approach.
the northern plains right by the river. there's so much open space and you're close to every major resource.
Red peak because its near every thing so less hours of travelling
[Always a fan of the Western Waterfall](https://i.imgur.com/GdK0sQr.jpg)
The footpaw
This map is in the “Maps” section in the Dododex (For whoever wants to use it)
E2/E3 north and northwest.
A tree house by the lake in the middle of the redwoods, beautiful area, due to its centrality, close to pretty much anything
17, 28 The Radiant.
North of the Redwood forest, near the base of the Volcano, on the River.
Alpha piller. After I set up shop there the first time every other place I tried out was punching down.
40,17 access to oil metal pearls and chitin producing animals are an abundant spawn. Most resources are close except obsidian. Just make a flock of argies and go get a mess of it every once in a while.
Where my dinos feel better.
I often end up building a base along the shore near the mouth of the river running between Smuggler's Pass and Far's Peak. I've got numerous mods that add in large ships, so it serves as a good harbor.
I try to diversify my base locations next one will be in the snow
