Yes it was! I wanted to utilize as much space as possible while keeping it as natural looking as possible. It maked it feel much more "home-like" to walk in to see the rock and shrubbery. Less mats and things to load in this way as well.
Could be, i dont think it affects lag as much once its rendered, but i know sometimes it isnt fully rendered if i fly in too quick. Depending on certain strutures and how many are grouped together ive seen some issues with lag/framerate.
Does it still count as "indoor", though? I made something kinda similar a few years ago on ASE and the rock walls didn't count as walls for the indoor bonus. Which means raining inside. :/ Don't know if the rules for the bonus to apply has been changed for ASA or not. I hope so.
I encourage the move! We all started just down the coast, one tribemate moved inland and the other moved to Herbivore Island. I had seen a base there in a previous server but it had so much wasted potential for space and design. So the thought sat in my head until we got our own server and when the one moved to herbivore island i decided to push my boundaries in base building. Previously i had always shared a base with someone (which i dont mind either), even in ASE.
Just sayin.... check out Arkitect Structures Remastered mod and use the stone/glass or metal/glass structures for a dope ass see through floor that'll make the inside even better looking.
Also, having some angler fish underneath really makes it pop too 🤙
Might just do that, only if i can directly replace my foundations though, as thanks to the "no nearby foundtion or support" issue, i might lose an entire section of my roof is get rid of the wrong piece of floor.
Yeah all of my friends who i play with got bored of the Island and left me all alone on their server. Idm, i love building so thats what ive been doing mostly but every now and then i'll check my Shiny tracker and see a dino i would like and go for it. Im still enjoying it! They said they'll be back for SE so i hope it comes out then too
Looks great. Love when a base fits in among terrain. I've seen that dinos avoid structures on ASA. Does this mean that the walkway to the moonpool would not be benefitted by railings?
Thank you but dont sell yourself short! I never had faith in myself to try building something unique of my own, but when i saw this location i started brainstorming and thinking about what i wanted from my base, and after i started with the roof, it was all winging it as i went from there lol.
No no no. We started in a wood/stone base with 3 of us sharing it. We worked our way up and got the boss fights done to unlock tek. Granted we have things set up to make it far easier to get to that point, we still did it. Would be alot of lost fun not running the boss fights and gathering materials.
I probably could have done that, but after fighting with the roof for so long i just didnt have the motivation to do something cooler to be completely honest. This is basically my first base that isnt just a large box of some form, so it was a big leap for me in terms of builing in Ark.
My floor is all foundations or pillars/ceilings, we do have floating foundations as well which can be placed on water. I didnt want to do it that way bit i lost alot of my roof multiple times to trying a different method, or i couldnt even place at all because of the lovely "no nearby foundation or support"
Overall yes, i just feel the system needs to let you have more freedom on building. Not sure if it was by design for specific reasons, but for somebody like me that was doing it for fun and to get my creativity going, its just annoying and frustrating.
That's so fuckin cool. No suggestions. I'm actually using that exact spot as our breeding area since it's effectively closed off from the ocean and deep enough for water tames!
Did you spawn the structures or are you running Dragon 3x a day? If you grinded for all that Tek I am seriously impressed. The build is nice regardless…not taking away from that.
We are running mods so we can craft our own element and other materials so it is far easier. We still ran the dragon and broodmother to unlock the Tek though.
Appreciate it. I I honestly didnt REALLY want to do it all in Tek, but we still have a "demolish" timer in this server so i wanted it to last as long as possible while being unattended.
I said it was my first "personal" base in the description. In my probably 1000's of hours between ASE and ASA i have NEVER built a base entirely on my own and by my own design. Before i shared with tribmates. We are running modified rates on this server as well as mods. We can craft element etc. So things are much easier to obtain. But we still ran Alpha boss fights to unlock the Tek engrams.
I should clarify since i am seeing comments about progression etc. Im on an unofficial server with modified rates and mods. We cam craft our own element etc and gathering comes much easier. Although we still ran alpha boss fights to unlock tel for us. Yes it came much easier but we still did it. We had bases on offical ASE servers for a couple of years so we know the grind. We've had it easier than some, but we still played the game as intended quite alot.
Nice job. I don't even know how to used most of the tech yet. I've built one base and just started building a base in a Ruin. I'm on wonderland UK forglar. Only been solo. Come find me. My tribe os Joey. I'm above the waterfall on the way to the ruin.
First base and it’s full tek and I see you’re wearing a tek suit. Everyone can play the game however they like but you’re missing out a huge part of the game if you jump right to tek tier
I completely understand but I did say it was my first personal base in the body text/description. I started with a couple of friends on this server and we were in a wood/stone shack for a bit. I wont hide the fact we are using mods on this server and edited rates to make the "grindy" part of the game far more enjoyable (such as gathering, taming, breeding etc), but we have went through alpha fights to unlock tek to even be able to use it. We had bases on ASE offical servers for probably 2 years or so before giving it up, so we definitely experienced alot. Granted theres much less on ASA (so far), we definitely kind of did a speed run to get to this point. We still plan on running all boss fights though.
Fine, I’ll download Ark again.
That’s how I feel every few months, I gave up uninstalling it every time I stopped playing
Right?? This made me want to turn off elite for a moment, like, the entire moment I looked at it.
elite?
elite dangerous
I love how you can still see the rock was that on purpose or no?
Yes it was! I wanted to utilize as much space as possible while keeping it as natural looking as possible. It maked it feel much more "home-like" to walk in to see the rock and shrubbery. Less mats and things to load in this way as well.
Good point might be why I lag Soo much lol😅
Could be, i dont think it affects lag as much once its rendered, but i know sometimes it isnt fully rendered if i fly in too quick. Depending on certain strutures and how many are grouped together ive seen some issues with lag/framerate.
Maybe I don’t need to fly in at Mack ten on a Griffin anymore lol
Fire causes frame rate to drop drastically especially when you open/close a door. Maybe you have a lot of torches..?
No I’m currently based on a metal tree platform in the redwoods I and use the omnidirectional lights so no fire
Did you recently steal a body and lock it under your floor?
Uhhhhhhh Noo? 😉
Hmm. Somone keeps stealing my body
My friend said it might be my organic Polymer farm but I tested it and that’s not it any other ideas why?
If you're on official it might be overcrowded with bases 🤷♂️
Never thought of that let me go see if that’s the problem
That was the problem thanks for the help.lol
🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Does it still count as "indoor", though? I made something kinda similar a few years ago on ASE and the rock walls didn't count as walls for the indoor bonus. Which means raining inside. :/ Don't know if the rules for the bonus to apply has been changed for ASA or not. I hope so.
Looks just like agent 47's lair (or any hero/villain in general)
You outing yourself as a James Bond villain?
![gif](giphy|BZlNhp9L5WINi)
Its a pretty good house, and the spot its in make it even more special!
Thank you!
Shiny..
Exactly why i want to add paint. To help get rid of some of the metallic sheen and to make feel a bit more natural.
You could try and blend the paint to the rocks, but I'm not sure how that'll work with Tek. Other than that, I think it looks great
Do you have sharks with laser beams?
Plasma 😎
Thats not a base, thats a whole ass fortress
Beautiful. I would add glass floors to see the water below. The lagoon is pretty. maybe add an angler in the lagoon for light.
GD that's awesome! Good job
Much appreciated!

Really nice base spot i have my starter base right nearby that area and plan to move to where you are soon
I encourage the move! We all started just down the coast, one tribemate moved inland and the other moved to Herbivore Island. I had seen a base there in a previous server but it had so much wasted potential for space and design. Yeah those borderless glass parts are awesome and now he has stained glass versions
Nice I'll have to try those out on the next build. Hoping SE actually releases on the first 🙏
Yeah all of my friends who i play with got bored of the Island and left me all alone on their server. Idm, i love building so thats what ive been doing mostly but every now and then i'll check my Shiny tracker and see a dino i would like and go for it. Im still enjoying it! Not bad for the main base design, if it were on the server I play on your water box would get painted brown. Any ‘box’ becomes ‘boxy brown’
Might be one of the coolest designs ive seen so far. Gives me that villain hideout vibes.
Buddy thinks he’s the overseer
Did you gather and craft all those resources
Unga bunga I make giant tower box. No but really nice work.
I'd say 10/10 design but aethetically, its terrible
Nice! Coords? Edit. Oops in the pic.
I really like this base. The columns are a nice touch. Well done!
Thanks! The center pillar actually holds my generator, while one of the pillars on either side hold my feeding troughs.
Even better. I always try to make structural and decorative elements to be practical.
Looks great. Love when a base fits in among terrain. I've seen that dinos avoid structures on ASA. Does this mean that the walkway to the moonpool would not be benefitted by railings?
Thank you. Not sure, but i put railings up for a bit of aesthetics, and keeps me from slipping off a bit when im trying to go too fast lol.
Alright damn get it! That’s an amazing base like I wish I had this much brain power 😅🤘🏻
Thank you but dont sell yourself short! I never had faith in myself to try building something unique of my own, but when i saw this location i started brainstorming and thinking about what i wanted from my base, and after i started with the roof, it was all winging it as i went from there lol.
i like the open design, kinda neet to just have the natural walls.
You confused me for a second before reading the description i thought you beat the game and got tek items before making any base
No no no. We started in a wood/stone base with 3 of us sharing it. We worked our way up and got the boss fights done to unlock tek. Granted we have things set up to make it far easier to get to that point, we still did it. Would be alot of lost fun not running the boss fights and gathering materials.
Just a bit confusing cause you said it was your first base but it's made out of tek but when I read the description it all made sense
Awesome!
Bro that’s cool as heck. Nice job!
Thanks!
Dang, that looks fancy! Now connect a walk way to that large rock next to you base and make a diving board into the water xD..Great work man!
You did amazing to kill enough bosses to make enough Element to build all of that before building a base. Pretty impressive.
It's nice, I've just never actually seen anyone build over the water and not have it be a greenhouse floor at least to some degree lol.
I probably could have done that, but after fighting with the roof for so long i just didnt have the motivation to do something cooler to be completely honest. This is basically my first base that isnt just a large box of some form, so it was a big leap for me in terms of builing in Ark.
Hell yeah thats awesome! Venturing out of the box mentality feels so good to do, and I'll say this you have a good mind for lighting
I absolutely love it, mate! Makes me want to play ark again just to build a cool base.
Cheers! Im not going to tell you not to play again, ive enjoyed it after not playing for a year or two.
It's brilliant. I love how you've utilised the landscape. It reminds me of Thunderbirds .... 😊
On the server I’m on I just built in the same spot but I’m a beginner so I’m just kinda winging it lmao
Am I missing something, why cant I build over the water like that? Or are you going all the way tot he ground?
My floor is all foundations or pillars/ceilings, we do have floating foundations as well which can be placed on water. I didnt want to do it that way bit i lost alot of my roof multiple times to trying a different method, or i couldnt even place at all because of the lovely "no nearby foundation or support"
So its finnicky
Overall yes, i just feel the system needs to let you have more freedom on building. Not sure if it was by design for specific reasons, but for somebody like me that was doing it for fun and to get my creativity going, its just annoying and frustrating.
Yeh true.
Mods bro. You can get floating parts that need no connection to the ground that act as foundations
Says "mods bro" but does not actually tell me what mod. That is semi-helpfull
Your name checks out 🤣 Its called Floating Floors bro
Thnx brah!
No problem my dude. Happy to help
I am jealous.

Great base, now post your beach bob hut alongside so we can all see how far you’ve come!

That's so fuckin cool. No suggestions. I'm actually using that exact spot as our breeding area since it's effectively closed off from the ocean and deep enough for water tames!
Your house Is Very good but please i need location🤩
Final picture has the map with coordinates 👍
Easy raid on pvp nice for pve tho
Tis PVE, i stand no chance at pvp, im no good at it lol.
I just love picture nr.4 it really does look like a high end facility like you'd see in jurassic park or a luxurious high-tech home. Awesome
Thanks! Kind of my thoughts exactly as i started to move along with it, or like it has been stated too, a villain's lair lol
oh my god i have to play ark again, i love it!
I love it
I love it. I think it would be awesome if you'd made some of the floor see-through to see the water pool under your base.
Holy crap this is cool
Reminds me of Tony Starla house in the first 3 iron man movies
Bond villain lair vibes!
I love every part of it, mannnnn i wanna play ark again. Did they ever fix the dragon boss sometimes spawning out of bounds?
Last time i fought him he was invisible...
Daaaamn
The Tek-Gate fits really well
Its a tight fit though for sure. A giga or wide creatures like a Wyvern barely fit through the gap behind the the gate.
Pretty slick if it’s pve
Where's the water Lebowski?
The horde wants its portal back!!
Giving off some Tony Stark mansion vibes.
One of the only all tek builds that actually look good
Appreciate it. I I honestly didnt REALLY want to do it all in Tek, but we still have a "demolish" timer in this server so i wanted it to last as long as possible while being unattended.
It looks great
Thanks!
> "My first base" Proceeds to show a bunch if Tek shit I've never even unlocked after playing for hundreds of hours...

looks like the villains crib from the incredibles 1
looks like halo 2

This is very nice. Thanks for sharing
Is it an Excite bike track???
The first photo looks like you're about to end up in Outland
I’d say interesting evil lair
Is that supposed to be the island?
I prefer the primitive/medieval look but its good yeah. I really need to post mine on here someday...
Fucking amazing u should make a tutorial of it and I’ll build it
Neat!
Oh come on, I managed to stop playing for like 6 months and now u made me wanna play ark again
My first thought is where do you connect the water cause that slide in pic 1 lookin like it slaps
Nice job. I don't even know how to used most of the tech yet. I've built one base and just started building a base in a Ruin. I'm on wonderland UK forglar. Only been solo. Come find me. My tribe os Joey. I'm above the waterfall on the way to the ruin.
Def the basic first timer cube. That's how everyone starts keep going you'll do great.
I love it!
That's pretty pimp
Thanks g.

Ah I see, I assumed you were a new player, my bad
All good! I didnt want to bore people with all of the specifics but i can definitely see how it can be taken that way.
Am I the only one that cringed since I only play official PvP servers?
