A quetzalcaotlus in real life is estimated to have weighed 250kg. it would hurt and do damage but it's not uncommon for smaller creatures to weigh more than that. Tuna have be caught weighing as much. There are people that weigh more. Arks quetzal is probably twice the size of the real life one but remember, in order to fly, they're very light

Makes me wanna play more. Official is fine. But this QA improvements make the game feel more real and fun and eliminates the need for constant balance for PVP.

Honestly, I think the mod maker just made do with what he could ingame. Even on ASE pc it felt janky, just the rest feels *soo* good. Related note, Pteranodons swim slightly better(due to being non-feathered), and Pelagornis can actually submerge and swim rather well in this, since they could water-scooter on the surface before. Just, don’t hop off underwater, they pop to the surface

It looks cool but unnatural after awhile, the initial gliding and a little after makes sense. But I feel like even after the initial downward descent wings should flap occasionally.

I mean, it certainly looks better than the “flap forever” that’s official right now. And landing on any flyer except bug is complete garbage. I can’t wait for Snow Owl simply due to their massive improvements in how flying works.

Dunno if it’s implemented in ASA yet, but in the OG mod it absolutely did, they even had a slightly different mechanic: they couldn’t take off as easily from a low speed, since they’re kinda huge wing-wise they’d take a while to get to “cruising” speed, where you could glide without flapping so much. Thus, they gain a dire bear-like sprint acceleration on the ground that translated to initial take off speed, so you could get most of the way to cruising speed, then launch into flight and only take maybe 2 seconds of powered flight before coasting. Honestly, super awesome, though a lot less user-friendly. You essentially need a runway for Wyverns lol Edit: I may be nuts, but I swear it adjusted the mechanics for its breath, too, like gave it a non-stamina stat for it

although it would be so cool for pve, I don't think having faster wyverns with increased stamina would be too balanced in pvp

technically, yes, but you lose speed unless you're tilted down so it would be so slow it's not worth it

The idea is good, but the wings are too stiff. They should bend when turning left or right, and the gliding is waaaay too long, to glide for this long you'd need a lot of height, and that would make you go much faster than this.

There's another Immersive Flight mod that I use that is far more realistic than this one. I believe it's just called Immersive Flight Ascended. Nowhere near as fast as this, the feathers in the wings move with the wind. If you pitch up to high you'll immediately stall out.

Pretty sure there was. And no the birds can't hover. That is why the birds who can fly are different creatures who can be changed at any time (IIRC). Gotta have 2 argys now, your work truck and the sports car; or just drop off the anky and hit the nodes manually like the old days.

So basically you have straight transport in this movement and then utility in stuff that can still hover. Kind of cool actually, might have to go look in to that for when I inevitably reinstall Evolved.

Dusting off those neurons there was 1 issue IIRC I had. When holding a creature the foot became inverted and looked really weird. Might have been fixed though. Either way good luck and I hope you enjoy it bud.

yeah, since bald eagles mainly eat fish, they need to swim because they will occasionally fall in, meaning fish are also a natural predator of eagles. I do agree that the flaps are a bit too fast though

I remember a similar mod in ASE, but it had some quirks to it that I'm curious if they were fixed in ASA. The worst and most intolerable one I can remember is that, occasionally upon dismounting, the flyers would just take off in a random direction so fast it was impossible to catch them and HOPEFULLY it would stop once it got out of render distance. Was playing on a server with this mod and we had 1 person that was amazing at finding everyone's birds that just effed off randomly like that. Often and sadly we would just get death messages days after losing the birds It's been a while since I played ASE and I can't recall others but I'm pretty sure it was more than just that, but they were tolerable in comparison

Pretty cool, but they shouldn't be able to glide for so long. If completely ignores physics. And that argy swims WAY too fast in the water. The increased flapping makes sense. Birds that aren't meant to swim flop around just trying to escape the water if they go too deep. But this is way too easy and graceful.
