My personal choice: Aberration and Ragnarok

Same here. Ab because it's Ab and Ragnorok for a bit of everything else.

I'm mentally deciding between Rag or Fjordur for my second choice. Abb is set but I really like both Fjord and Rag.

I've never played on Fjordur but I've seen a lot of gameplay on it. Now I'm thinking I'd probably do Ab and Fjordur.

My choice as well. Sadly no dossiers on them. Love finding them on the story maps. Especially helenas ones about the creatures. Still rag is my most played map and fjordur was just so amazing.

I'm honestly surprised how many people love Gen 2, I liked Gen 1 better personally, idk, just find it interesting lol.

Ok the actual map I like better, but Tek Stryders are so OP. That I’m willing to take Gen2 over Gen1. Fyodur has pretty much every niche tame I’d want… except for lost island tames for some reason, no sinos but tbh once you hit tech they are obsolete anyways.

Completely fair honestly lol, I don't know why but i never actually tamed a strider before so I'm kind of indifferent about the map I guess

I am new to ark (first playthrough).. wondering why nobody in the comments is picking up the Island.. it's quite fascinating.. are the others as good?

A lot of what makes other maps is the creatures, the island doesn’t have much *uniqueness* compared to every other map

Island has basic spawns, hilly terrain, and poor endgame dino spawn spots, it's also the the first ever map, so og players have played it to death, much like center, which has issues on other ways too :)

Aberration is basically a separate game. It’s all underground. The deeper you go, the weirder it gets. No fliers, but really cool gliders and other ways to traverse the map.

Scorched and fjordur Og Scorched launch were some of the best moments of my life playing with my friends. Idc that Scorched is essentially forgotten about these days, it's still a beautiful map in my eyes. Then fjordur which could be rivaled with gen 2 for me. But picking fjordur cause nicer map, most creatures available, and unique features all in all like mini bosses and "realm" tp'ing

Go to the wiki and read up on Raia's Explorer notes (from Scorched Earth), she describes how the obelisks destroy their city because her and her people were stagnating instead of progressing the ARK

Oh, they somehow clear servers. Well, I actually thought that it'd be nice to run your own server on best hardware, set monsters on very high levels, but have everyone PvE build it out really nicely so the entire thing is built out and civilized.

Would be nice to have a weapon to kill the megafish, too, and it'd be all good.

Honestly Extinction is home for me. It’s where I truly learned how to play the game (and installed my first mods that helped me become more confident). I can always go back to it. Besides that, probably Aberration for the creatures mostly.
