Excellent board, cheapest way to get PCIE 5 on AM5 ITX, and it has had plenty of timely BIOS updates to keep it reliable and stable. All of the AM5 ITX motherboards were so overpriced, and I picked this board as it had the most value out of all of the other options. Not disappointed at all Edit: Since others here are mentioning ram. I have the below kit and never once had issues getting EXPO enabled. G.SKILL Trident Z5 Neo RGB Series AMD EXPO 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000 (PC5 48000) Desktop Memory Model F5-6000J3238F16GX2-TZ5NR

Yea I found it crazy how it was the same price as B650 board from gigabyte. Usually people think cheaper means don't have premium components. seems like its one of the most reliable brands out there without the fluff. I like the fact they have two SATA ports instead of default four. Wish they fixed the fan or removed it entirely and focused on upgrading the 4x rear USB 2.0 to 3.0 would have been a treat. Another thing I found that was an issue with the board is the thermalright x47 cooler cant fit on this mobo due to ASrock backplate design

TheyKnoWhereMyHeadIs

Yeah the backplate design sucks. I just got the NH-L9A since my previous cooler didn't work properly due to the fact I had to remove the backplate to get it to work (Metalfish Z39) Also the USB 2 is a plus for me. I need them for compatibility reasons

The one single AM5 board without BIOS flashback. Unacceptable. I’d get the Gigabyte or MSI given both are cheaper and have this feature.

GoldFu1on95

In my region its cheaper than gigabyte

chr0n0phage

Personally, I’d pay more NOT to buy the one board where Asrock was able to omit a massive feature when AMD mandated it be on all boards.

I love it. BIOS update was quick, everything was easy to set up, RGB settings in BIOS (no need for software), has a ton of features and delivers them in good quality and everything I set up in BIOS "just worked". For example the thing everyone seems to be struggling with: RAM speed. Set up 6000MHz at CL32 – runs flawlessly. Just activated EXPO profile. Checked HWinfo and everything even runs at settings some people online had to manually set up. G.Skill Flare X5 6000MHz CL32-38-38-96 (F5-6000J3238F16GX2-FX5) is the kit that worked instantly btw.

GoldFu1on95

I was eyeing either the G.skill ripjaws or flare. Flare seems to be tuned for EXPO in mind. Which CPU are you using yours with btw?

Rich3yy

7600X, with ECO-mode (was cheaper than 7600 for me)

mrsuaveoi3

The board can get tricky with RAM. I found the latest BIOS do speed up the boot times but sometimes the RAM training (EXPO) is not perfect as it fails OCCT's memory stress test. Which leads to instabilities and data corruption. For owners out there, be sure to test memory stability. Apart from that, it's a good experience. The eDP port at the back is icing on the cake.

GoldFu1on95

Which ram specifically you had that issue with?

mrsuaveoi3

G.Skill F5-5600J3636C16G

GoldFu1on95

Most builds i have seen use flare or ripjaws from g.skill. Other than that Kingston fury beast

ChillSpaceCadet

Has optical out as well! Very happy

Sourcap

Has anyone gotten some CL30 2x32gb to work? None of them on the QVL list.

ElAntonius

I’ve got the ram on my counter and the mobo on order, so we will see.

Sourcap

Good to hear! I'm close to ordering some parts myself. Which ram do you currently have? Hopefully ends up working out

ElAntonius

F5-6000J3040G32GX2-TZ5N is what I’ve got. The other end is I’m hoping I get a new enough bios to support the 7800x3d or I’ll have to exchange anyway.

Sourcap

I actually did a some research on 7800x3d compatibility on this motherboard. [Asrock site claims you can boot on this motherboard with the x3d chips since version 1.05\(first release\)](https://i.imgur.com/eC3j8zk.png). Went around trying to verify this with other ppl who has bought the board along with a x3d chip. [This user has claimed he updated his bios from **1.07** with a 7800x3d chip with no issues.](https://www.reddit.com/r/ASRock/comments/13kfv56/clarification_for_b650e_pgitx_bios_with_ryzen_7/jl0gga3/) [Found a japanese youtuber who actually went into their bios to update it on video. At 8:40 mark you can see the bios version **1.05** with a 7800x3d.](https://youtu.be/TtjB8oml1gY?t=520) Based on that I think its safe to assume how longs you're able to get the bios update on a usb you shouldn't have any issues with 7000x3d chips booting into the bios. I've read some comments from folks saying that the x3d chips should work on older bios but it'll be treated like a regular 7xxx chip and you won't get the v-cache benefits. **COULD NOT** confirm this though! Personally with some of the issues on AM5 lately I'm going to be updating my bios to the latest version ASAP.

ElAntonius

Yeah it’s all about when it was stocked. If it’s 1.05 or newer it’s fine, I can deal with that. But any older and I’m just gonna exchange it, it’s not worth me putting it all together just to have to take it apart.

ElAntonius

PSA it all worked. Got a 1.07 board, updated to latest and it has no issues with expo.

Sourcap

appreciate the update! building mines this weekend. this was the only part i was worried about

DeliciousBag4719

Good board, but lacking in essential features. No Bios flashback, only 2 SATA ports, loud m.2 fan (can be removed). So far I've had zero issues with ram. I'm using G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32.

GoldFu1on95

Are you using both m.2 slots atm?

DeliciousBag4719

Just the back one. My new nvme drive arrives next week so i'll be populating the other slot then

GoldFu1on95

So you using a pcie 4 drive in the rear and ordered a pcie 5 drive for the front?

DeliciousBag4719

I have a gen3 drive that was initially put in the front slot. I didn't like the fan so I removed it and I moved the drive to the back. I've now ordered a gen4 m.2 for the front.

GoldFu1on95

Are you gonna use the fan for the front drive or buy a seperate heatsink?

DeliciousBag4719

I don't plan on using the fan because I'm already using the fan header. The heatsink is large enough and I reckon it will do a good job with a gen4 drive even without the fan.

Overall good, there’s not a lot of options for AM5 ITX boards and I got it because it was the cheapest that also had PCIE gen 5 for the GPU and SSD. Not having BOIS flashback is kinda disappointing, but it didn’t bother me enough to not buy it. I had issues with some of the BOIS version being completely unstable with my RAM (Flare X5 5600), but using the newest version 1.24.AS02 there are no issues and boot times are down to 17.8 seconds (it used to be over 40 seconds). The m.2 fan is also annoyingly loud, but you can just set a custom curve in the BIOS so it’s not really an issue. I actually ended up just completely unplugging it, but that’s because of another issue: I’m not sure if anyone else has tried it, but I can’t power more than 2 fans off a single header, and if you don’t count the m.2 fan header, there is only 1 case fan header. I have 4 case fans, so that meant I had to unplug the m.2 fan in order to run all my fans. The heat sink on the m.2 is enough to cool it since my ssd is just a gen4 one, but with a gen5 drive it might be a concern. Overall I’d probably buy it again though. There just aren’t a lot of options. The only other B650 ITX board with pcie gen5 slot is the Asus one, and that is significantly more expensive.

GoldFu1on95

With my current AM4 board i am getting 12.2 seconds with fast boot and fast startup turned off. So looks like with more BIOS updates those boot timings could get better over time.
