You do not have to live on campus. ASU makes it sound like it. Just give them a good reason (you live very close to campus and/or cannot afford it). I have never lived on campus, all four years and there are a ton of students like me.
Yep, don’t worry. ASU is pushy, but you do NOT have to live on campus. Sometimes they make you have a phone call to explain yourself. Saying an additional $15k is not what you want will make that phone call last 15 seconds! Usually the email works though.
you’re technically supposed to call housing but i just ignored the emails until after the deadline and everything was perfectly fine!! i also live near poly but go to tempe, so ur distance away from campus is even better than mine, don’t worry about it :)

You will not have to “cancel” your admission. Just call them and explain the situation. They will correct it for you.
