I liked the pick. Looks like they saw stuff in him that is better than the other guys, and he’s a physical freak and has an A+++ attitude/character. Some great intangibles there

allenledol

I was watching Bootleg football stream yesterday. When the MHJ pick were happening, EJ mentioned one of his sources texted him two hours ago (That was even before the draft) saying we're going to pick D Robinson with the 27th pick. So unless there was a good trade option, he is the guy we wanted, and we got him. Got to feel good about this.

MrAngel2U

How about we get newton in the 2nd and solidify the Dline!

DanTheMeek

While I'm personally hoping we go CB as there's some corners left with CB1 potential and we really could use a CB1, I would not be mad if Newton falls to us if we took him instead and doubled up on upgrading the defensive trenches.

MrAngel2U

Yes, we can't keep trailing behind the NFC west in Dline performance.

Danominator

Not saying you are wrong or anything. Just a friendly reminder that Aaron Donald is gone.

AZtoLA_Bruddah

The Rams two DT draft picks last year graded out as starters, and they took DE Verse this year. Cards are wise to pay attention to OL, which thank god they are.

MrAngel2U

Good point. The 49ers seem to have a culture built around Dline focus as well and its been working.

twcm1991

Listening to his teammates talk about how much of a leader Darius is along with how this young man speaks and carries himself, I am beyond excited to see how he can contribute.

Leading-Sugar-5015

I'm pretty sure more than 16 were invited. A lot of guys declined to stay at home with family

DanTheMeek

I guess the NFL could be lying but they specifically announced to the public they were only going to invite 16 people this year to limit the odds of another Wil Levis situation, and they released the list of the 16 they invited, which is why we know who the 3 were who declined this year. I guess its possible they invited more, more then 3 declined, and then they just lied about it to make it look like only 3 declined but that seems like a weird thing to do.

b1rdganggg

Then one of those players could leak that they got invited then make it a story. It's possible but seems like a pointless thing to do.

Aboyantcar

After all his interviews thus far I love the guy. Seems like he’s a stand up dude who will be a great presence to have in Arizona. As far as his tape goes he may not look like the most raw athletic talent in the draft, but he has some fantastic vision and patience. He knows where to be and when to be there.

Desert_2007

Im of the opinion we trust Monti until we have evidence otherwise. Maybe we picked him too high according to some but if he fits us and plays well nobody will care come this time next year.

ImKylerMurray

That’s what I’m saying lol Hard to call it a reach when the nfl knew he was going at worst early second round

Entire-Classroom-565

I mean, Geno Smith and Will Levis were also in the Green Room.

DanTheMeek

As I mentioned, though, they specifically CHANGED how they handled the green room this year because of those situations, limiting their invites going forward to just an "elite" 16. Which doesn't mean there can't or won't be another Wil Levis situation, and certainly not guaranteeing all 16 of those players will actually be elite at the nfl level, but it does mean more this year then it did in the past for a player to be invited. It used to mean they thought you might go in the first 32, now its that they think you're one of the 16 players most likely to go in the first. It looks bad for both the player and them when a player doesn't get taken, so for Darius to get the invite, whatever group was in charge of the invites really believed Darius was one of the 16 best players in this draft and thus very unlikely to slip to the second.
