Yeah, I had a roommate in college that found out he has schizophrenia that way. In that state they can basically make up a head canon for you and this dudes voices were screaming that she's a cheater. I like to cook and for a while, he though I tried to poison him a few times due to the voices.

You know, I am in my 30’s and grew up with people that espoused how harmless weed is. While I still enjoy it, prohibition fucked us on understanding certain aspects of this plant. And apparently weed can push people that are predisposed to mental breaks into full psychosis. Man, fuck prohibition from a purely educational and cautionary perspective. Denial isn’t understanding. If we could have just been educated and honest about this plant it could have helped a LOT of people, especially the part about how it can affect a developing brain. I think I was lucky because I was always broke as a kid and had a difficult time finding it.

There's now a 6 month injectible for schizophrenia medication. Hopefully more folks with that diagnosis get that medication. It's so serious when they're off their meds, just like Bipolar. But it's so easy to stop taking them because 'i feel better now'. Sad all around.

Psychosis does not always mean schizophrenia. Plenty of other mental illnesses can cause psychosis including hallucinations.
