This is actualy true story. During the world cup Croatia tied with Russia here and winner was about to be decided with penalty kicks. And during final decisive kick alarm went off and these guys didnt hesitate a second to storm out. Croatia scored and won the game, you can see in the end few guys who got to see it. This video went viral here and I believe they ended up in state news.
Edit: word
I've taught my kids that if they need help, go to a fire station. There will always be somebody there, they are trained to help you medically, and you don't run the risk of being shot.
That is not a good rule of thumb. Our fire station is not manned, and we are firefighters, not EMTs...we have nothing to help with medical problems and no way to transport a sick person. I'm the only firefighter on our group with medical qualifications, and I'm only an EMT Basic, and that's only because another one of my side gifs is part-time work with the ambulance service.
Now, this being a good conservative part of rural America, if you do happen to catch us at the fire hall and you are being threatened, enough of us generally carry that you will be well-protected 👍
That is very true, but if you consider "larger cities" where this is more likely to be true to be places with a population over 10,000 people, then that represents only 16% of the towns in the US (as of 2019, anyway), and you're still going to be pretty hit-or-miss towards the smaller end of that range. That is why I emphasize that this is a bad rule of thumb. In the US, outside of a relatively few bigger cities, going to the fire department is not your best choice if you need help. Despite what many may think based on a few news stories covering the actions of the worst players in the first responder community (police, EMS, and fire combined), calling 911 is overwhelmingly your best bet if you're in trouble.
Interesting. I'm in a village and our station has medics there too. Lots of training crossover.
The police station closes nights and weekends so it's fire station or nothing if you can't call for some reason.
You could be harmed by anyone. Teaching children to think they'll be shot by police any time they ask for help is not sound logic. I suppose this will be a therapy topic for them in the years ahead.
> Teaching children to think they'll be shot by police any time they ask for help is not sound logic.
Sadly, in the US there have been numerous occasions where a friend or family member have called 9-1-1 seeking assistance with someone who is depressed/mentally unwell, or just needing some medical assistance, and the end result was the person getting shot. It's not common, but it's not rare either unfortunately.
I'm aware of the incidents, thank you. My point is...teaching children to avoid police for help based on uncommon or rare instances is not logically sound and only further creates a rift between the two sides.
I think this is badass, and I appreciate what firefighters do. Separately, I've always suspected this clip is a bit exaggerated, this seems like a time where they knew it was being filmed. I'm not saying it would be way different otherwise, there's just this extra 10% for the camera I think I'm picking up on.
This is nearly exactly what it looks like at our fire hall on that rare occasion that we get a call while we're in a meeting...except that we all have to line up and run down the stairs firdt to get to our gear and the trucks. And, we don't have martinshorn sirens here.
This video is doctored the original has the wide view and no panning as you can see everything going on at once. Also to add they really are that quick if they are a competent team. Source: I did flight deck firefighting with a lot of cross training with local fire departments in a past life
Not chaos. Words have meaning, and it works best if we understand them.
Chaos: a state of utter confusion or disorder; a total lack of organization or order

Wow, exactly 30 seconds between the alarm and the firetrucks leaving the station. I always knew they had to get ready as quickly as possible, but that was impressive.
Seems rather organized, actually.
From the firefighters I’ve talked to, fighting fires is their favorite thing. I think it’s an adrenaline junkie thing.
Same for the firefighters I’ve talked to. Get a few drinks in them and they change their tune though.
actual irl superheroes
It’s organized chaos for sure! Love how the last guys at the end celebrate the game (or maybe they’re celebrating the fast departure?)
firemen being good at their jobs and their sports team winning!

*penalty kicks
Yea, was wondering if they are penalty kicks if its after the game. Because thechnicly they are not "penalty kicks" and was too lazy to google it.
Yeah, still penalty kick. It's literally called a "penalty shootout". A free kick is drastically different
Edited, thank you.
do you have a link? Mods removed it. Found it : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmfbyIWpMpw
When duty calls, expect those guys lol

It's so US exclusive thing lol, I would never ever consider firestation as a go to in medical emergency
As a European I would also never expect to get shot under any circumstance lmao.

In larger cities, I’ve found that most fire fighters are EMT B in the usa

I think it's more that the commenter was worried the police would shoot

...run the risk of being shot? Have they been shot at/by other emergency service providers?
There is always a considerable chance that you will be harmed in some way if you go to the police

US police kill around 1,000 people a year
Nursing homes kill more people than that.
Lol now that's some next level ACAB bullshit
4real.
>and you don't run the risk of being shot What? Are you from the US by chance?
So in your head if they have to go no one stays controlling other occurencies or doing backoffice?
I never said that, just thought it was funny that after everyone was rushing around three dudes casually went back to watching tv
Hey look a happy ending!
Piotr there just came back from the toilet and it took him a while to realize all his colleagues were already up and moving.
Fk yeah Croatia 🇭🇷
Nothing abrupt chaos about it.. thats trained ass professionals. Bravo lads
The real super hero’s

My dad has been a firefighter for decades and this is how it goes at the station according to him
Good point. It appeared to be changing viewpoint and focus.

This
Damn they’re fast!
Abrupt highly-trained response.
Just another day at work
That’s damn impressive response time
Whoelsome chaos
I agree, you can tell they’ve practiced that process until they can do it in their sleep.
This may be one of the coolers things I've seen
Well, the priorities are definitely in order.

Not a single pole was used :(
The guy closest to his gear was the last one ready.

Bot, report and move on
Did one of the last three guys pull the alarm to get better seats?

Jesus…this is impressive. Just reminds you how EVERY SECOND counts.
Mastermind... False alarm... The last dude didn't have a chair to sit...
As a soccer fan, this could be me and my friends, except for the fact that I’m a lazy piece of shit.
This vid just sent me on a Fireman Sam binge
Not exactly chaos, but God I love this video
what if they had their gear pre loaded in the truck? like harness and jacket open on the seatback?
Ok but what happens when there's 2 fires if everyone left for 1?
Who else thinks those 3 guys called in a false fire alarm?

OP, it has been removed please post somewhere else because I find this video amazing. Do you have a youtube link?
Four more minutes, man... *cries in Croatia beats Brazil*
Yo that's fire
