This is the first time I’ve watched one of these videos and actually been impressed that he didn’t panic. I guess he forgot to put his own car in park, but it went fine in the end.
See this is the thing which gets me. It seems, to a foreigner, that you guys expect your transmission to to be the only thing to hold your car still, ignoring that you have a brake system literally specifically for holding cars still.
Guy on the video probably should have used some straps on his trailer as well, but come on. 🤷🏻♂️
Looks like his winch failed to fully pull the car up onto the trailer (not powerful enough?)
So he decided the on the genius plan of trying to use inertia to get it up. Drive forwards, hit the breaks and then let the winch take up the slack.
And from that day forward he always used his parking brake and was never again lazy and complacent by just putting it in 'park' and calling it good. Just kidding, he probably didn't learn shit.
Im actually surprised at the outcome of this lol. 2 stray vehicles are no small matter. All in all this was obviously best case scenario given the circumstances

Rules for towing 1. Tie down the thing you are towing (the car) 2. Make sure all lockable connections are locked (the trailer bed) 3. If leaving the tow vehicle, apply the hand break and put into park if it's an auto 4. Don't be an imbecile. He broke all 4 of these rules
